Pakistan-US contacts should increase, says FM
Islamabad, Pakistan News :- Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi says that contacts between Pakistan and United States should increase, adding that many problems will surface if US doesn’t hold consultations on Afghan Policy.
In an interview with a British Broadcasting network, Qureshi maintained that Pak-US joint command wasn’t needed to launch offensive against Al-Qaeda and Taliban. He showed ignorance about Osama and Mullah Omer’s locations. “Everybody is guessing about them,” he said. FM demanded that US should give drone technology to Pakistan so that it could itself take action against terrorists.

PM Gilani Meets German President
BERLIN: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani Tuesday held meeting with German President Horst Koehler to discuss bilateral ties and to boost cooperation in trade, investment and defence production. .
Gilani will also hold meetings with Chancellor Angela Merkel and other German leaders.
New investment agreements will also be signed during the prime minister’s stay in Germany.
The two leaders also discussed matters related to durable peace in Afghanistan.

Govt Tables 26 Ordinances in Senate
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan tabled 26 Musharraf period ordinances in Senate on Tuesday.
Babar Awan, in a statement at the floor of the upper house said the government respects the decisions of the Supreme Court. He said the reservations over some ordinances including NRO will be sorted out soon.
He said all ordinances will be tabled in the parliament within the period fixed by the apex court.
He said the ordinances that tabled in the house include Penal Code, Pakistan Institute for Development Economics ordinance, National Commission for Human Development ordinance, Police Order (Amendment) Ordinance 2007, National Defence University Ordinance, Human Organs Transplantation ordinance, Intellectual Property Rights and Price Control ordinance etc.

Power Shortfall up to 3000 MW
Lahore: energy deficit has soared to 3,000 megawatts (MW) across the country and 5 hours load-shedding takes place in cities and 8-10 hours in rural areas.

According to Pakistan Electric Power Company (Private) Limited (PEPCO) officials, a difference of 3,000 MW was recorded in the supply and demand forcing the company to take 5-7 hours load shedding in all major cities like Lahore and 8-10 hours in rural areas.
PEPCO officials said, “energy demand will drop as the mercury drops.
“Buenos Aires and other provinces are facing difficulties from 700 MW / day electricity is being supplied to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC).
Supply of fuel oil to power all continues as routinely added.

PM Gilani Meets President Hu Jintao
BEIJING: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday met Chinese President HU Jintao to discuss bilateral relations.

Prime Minister Gilani during the meeting will invite China for investment in Pakistan. The two leaders will also discuss regional peace and fighting against terrorism.
Earlier in a meeting with a delegation Gilani stressed the need for greater cooperation between the defence industries of Pakistan and China as an important step to fortify the all-weather strategic partnership.
The Prime Minister expressed these views in his meeting with Chen Qiufa, Administrator of China’s State Administration for Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence (SASTIND) who led a delegation of China’s defence-related companies.
Prime Minister Gilani told the delegation that Pakistan attached great importance to its relations with China and wanted to further expand and promote bilateral cooperation particularly in the field of defence production.
