Dera Allah Yar: 0.1m wheat sacks stolen
Around 0.1 million wheat sacks have been stolen from government godown, which was later closed down, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.
However, DPO Jaffrabad said that the Food Department sold the wheat meant for Dera Murad after loading them into the trucks and filled the sacks with poultry feed. He added that the godown started stinking on which he (DPO) impounded two trucks of fodder and sealed the place. The DPO said that the stolen wheat was worth Rs42million.
Wood Godown Catches Fire in Peshawar
PESHAWAR, Pakistan News: Hundreds of wood storerooms located on Wazir Bagh road in Yakka Togh area caught fire late on Monday night but nonetheless; the fierce blazes are still out of control.
According to sources, the fire erupted in wood godowns engulfed the entire area and left burnt to ashes hundreds of shops and storerooms but the fierce blazes of fire could not be be brought under control till Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, residents of the area said the nearby residential areas have been evacuated due to horrific intensity of blazes, which could also engulf the homes located closely.
They said it has also been feared the fire will engulf the nearby petrol pump and a possible powerful explosion could occur.
The fire has so far burnt to ashes woods worth of millions of rupees, the storeroom owners claimed.
