Pakistan, England Set For T20 Battle
DUBAI: Pakistan and England will enthral the lovers of cricket with Twenty20 matches at the Dubai Sports City stadium today and tomorrow.
The WorldCall T-20 Challenge series has gained more importance due to the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 Cup to be held in West Indies in April-May.
The performances in these two matches are also of great importance to the players to ensure a place in their national teams.
Pakistan prestige is also at stake as they are the defending world Twenty20 champions.
Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik has said the defeat to Australia is history, if England too inflict a defeat on them in the Twenty20 format, in which they hold the record for maximum victories (21 victories out of the 28 matches), it will be hard for them to recover.
England have arrived with the confidence of having beaten South Africa in a one-day series. Their skipper Paul Collingwood is hoping that his players will transfer the confidence gained from one-day cricket into Twenty20 format. A victory over Pakistan can go a long way in boosting their confidence in this format. Of the 23 Twenty20 matches England have played, they have won only nine. A victory here will be labelled as the start of a new beginning.
