Usually Wake-Up Video is devoted to a great moment in music history, a notable birthday, an important event in sports or a vital holiday. But sometimes, it just helps to get a little boost to get things going on a Wednesday morning. Sometimes, you just need to get over the hump. Sometimes you need Mötley Crüe.
There’s no shortage of news in the Crüe universe at the moment (for the sort of band they are, they have showed shocking resilience). Frontman Vince Neil has a forthcoming solo album as well as a memoir coming out later this summer (they are both titled Tattoos and Tequila), and drummer Tommy Lee just announced that the new album by Methods of Mayhem will be hitting the streets soon. And in between all that, the Crüe will be venturing out on the road as part of the Ozzfest tour in August, where they’ll share the stage with Ozzy Osbourne for the first time since their infamously debauched 1984 tour that featured multiple arrests, non-stop partying and that famous scene described in “The Dirt” that saw Osbourne snort a line of ants thinking it was cocaine.
(Considering the relative sobriety of everybody involved, this tour should be a lot more low-key.)
Considering their longevity and the number of hits they’ve racked up over the years (including their most recent album, 2008’s well-received Saints of Los Angeles), it wouldn’t be out of the question to call Mötley Crüe “classic rock” (much to the consternation of the boys from Bowling for Soup). With that in mind, kickstart your Wednesday with “Girls Girls Girls.

Elizabeth Taylor Unveils Intense Love Letters From Richard Burton
LONDON – Elizabeth Taylor has made public a series of never-before-seen love letters she received from Richard Burton which gives new insight into their passionate but turbulent romance.
In the letters, Burton bared his soul, and even suggested committing suicide if she leaves him, saying he is infatuated and cannot live without her, reports The Telegraph.
“If you leave me I shall have to kill myself. There is no life without you,” Burton wrote.
The letters revealed that the Welsh star used a series of pet names to describe Taylor including “My Lumps,” “Dearest Scrupelshrumpilstilskin,” and “Twit Twaddle.” He signed himself “Husbs.”
In one letter he praises Taylor’s acting while describing the profession as “sissified and ridiculous” for a “really proper man.”
The 78-year old actress apparently read her collection of love letters to the authors of “Furious Love: Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Burton, and the Marriage of the Century,” which is a book that looks back on the couple’s love affair.

In one note, Burton explained how he really couldn’t live without Taylor, writing: “If you leave me I shall have to kill myself. There is no life without you.” In another letter he says: “You must know, of course, how much I love you. You must know, of course, how badly I treat you.”
n another, he explains, “You must know, of course, how much I love you. You must know, of course, how badly I treat you. But the fundamental and most vicious, swinish, murderous, and unchangeable fact is that we totally misunderstand each other.”
“We operate on alien wavelengths. You are as distant as Venus – planet, I mean – and I am tone-deaf to the music of the spheres. I love you and I always will. Come back to me as soon as you can.” Extracts from the tome have been published in June’s Vanity Fair, and show that the fiery romance also had a playful side – with Burton calling Taylor by a number of silly nicknames, including ‘My Lumps’, ‘Dearest Scrupelshrumpilstilskin’, and ‘Twit Twaddle’.
Elizabeth Taylor is offering glimpses into her passionate, often painful life with Richard Burton through his love letters to her.
In the letters, excerpted in the July issue of Vanity Fair, Burton, who died in 1984 at age 58, teases and cajoles, threatens and confesses – and tries to come to terms with his infatuation, love and need for Taylor.

Verizon Cell Phones

Verizon Cell Phones, There is much at stake in the droid. Motorola needs a hit more than any wireless company in the market right now (which Palm around late 2008) and Verizon phone is still looking super. This may seem less than ideal circumstances to come up with a great device, but time is pretty good. Not only the Droid ship as the first phone with version 2.0 of the Android operating system maturing quickly but comes at a time when consumers know that the iPhone is not a perfect device. And it is even clearer in these days that AT & T is not the perfect company.
If you’ve seen any of the iDon’t “” commercial, then you would think that the droid was designed to be the anti-iPhone. More realistic that was designed for the buyer, the iPhone, specifically address the shortcomings of the iPhone. Looking for a hardware keyboard? The Droid has. Removable battery? He gets it. MicroUSB the load? Check. Five-megapixel camera with a flash? That too. Tactile feedback? Of course. And if that were not enough, it’s the thinnest QWERTY slider today, has a ridiculously nice 854 × 480 screen, and runs the latest version of Android, Google Maps with navigation.
Before you begin, do not miss our initial impressions of the droids or gallery. These should get you up to speed.

Google Monopoly
More these days you hear the words “Google” and “monopoly” in the same sentence. There is no shortage of fear that the search giant is still too strong in the search and online advertising space. But today, the two words are connected by a very different reason: The board game Monopoly is about to an online version of Google Maps to start.

Today on 9 9 9, 999, 9 9 09, 9 09 09, 09/09/09, Numerologists and marketers alike share a fascination for dates like 09-09-09, which might explain why computer giant Apple, the distributors of Beatles music and filmmaker Tim Burton are all peddling new products Wednesday.
The magical date will see several launches.
Honchos at Apple Inc. were scheduled to make some big announcement Wednesday in San Francisco, details of which — true to form for the company — were kept hush-hush.
Elsewhere, the entire Beatles music collection, digitally remastered, was being released by Apple Corps.
Perhaps in conjunction with that release, a long-anticipated video game also is set to launch Wednesday — “The Beatles: Rock Band.”
“You won’t just listen to the Beatles make rock history, create landmark records and conquer the world — for the first time, you’ll be part of the band,” said a company news release.
Some have speculated that releasing the Beatles material on 09-09-09 is a tip of the hat to the group’s song “Revolution 9,” in which a man’s voice intones the phrase “number nine” repeatedly.
Meanwhile, it seems only fitting that Tim Burton’s new movie premieres Wednesday. It’s simply called “9.”
The post-apocalyptic adventure features, you guessed it, nine heroes.
