Its not rocket science that Bollywood Superstar Shahrukh Khan has many firsts and many ‘rare honours’ attached to him. He added yet another rare honour to his credit, when he recently visited the Rotes Rathaus; Berlin’s Town Hall and met its gay mayor Klaus Wowereit. He did so during his visit to Germany, as he is shooting there for Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2.
SRK also got a rare honour of signing the guest book at the Town Hall. By doing so, he became the first Indian actor to be given the honour. Way to go, Shahrukh!

Catherine O Hara
Catherine Anne O’ Hara is a Canadian-American actress and comedienne. She is well known for her comedy work on SCTV, and her roles in the films After Hours, Beetlejuice, Home Alone and Home Alone 2, and The Nightmare Before Christmas; as well in the mockumentary films written and directed by Christopher Guest including Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show, A Mighty Wind, and For Your Consideration.
A naturalized U.S. citizen, she married production designer/director Bo Welch in 1992 and has two sons, Matthew (b.1994) and Luke (b.1997). She is the sister of critically-acclaimed singer-songwriter Mary Margaret O’Hara, though she is a singer-songwriter in her own right, having written and performed songs in Christopher Guest’s film A Mighty Wind. She has a condition known as Situs Inversus with Dextrocardia meaning that among other things, her heart is on the right side of her body.
Canada then brought out its star power, with actors William Shatner, Catherine O’Hara and Michael J. Fox following Rogge with a series of humour-tinged monologues.
“I’m sorry you thought Canada was one great big frozen tundra,” said O’Hara, mocking the world’s shock that British Columbia isn’t always winter wonderland.
Fox celebrated his Canadian roots, saying even though he has lived in the United States for 30 years, if he’s watching the two countries play hockey, “I’m sorry, but I’m wearing a maple leaf on my sweater.”
Singer Michael Buble, starting out wearing Mountie gear, sang a patriotic, tongue-in-cheek tune playing off Canadian clichés — giant inflated beavers, moose, Mounties, table-hockey players and maple leafs circled through BC Place, pulled by lumberjacks.
The satirical act of uber-Canadiana was followed by yet another series of Canadian clichés — including Nickelback, Avril Lavigne and Simple Plan.
They were followed by Alanis Morissette, who performed a moving version of Wunderkind, as athletes hugged each other and waved their flags.
Performances from pop-rock group Hedley, Quebec singer Marie-Mai and hip-hop artist k-os rounded out the closing ceremony, which was capped with a fireworks display.

OSLO: President Obama, who earlier arrived in Norway with his wife Michelle, also defended the US record in Afghanistan and his planned surge of 30,000 military personnel as motivated by his desire to bring peace to the war-torn country.
In his acceptance speech, he hit back at critics of his plan to begin withdrawing US soldiers from Afghanistan in mid-2011, saying he was “unambiguous” about the date and would debate it no further.
But he struck a modest note when he said others may be “more deserving” of the prestigious prize this year.
Shortly before his own investiture as a Nobel laureate, Obama marvelled at the “galvanising” impact of the US civil rights leader Martin Luther King.
President Obama and wife went directly to the Norwegian Nobel Institute to sign the guest book after flying into tightly secured Oslo for a day of events marking the first-year US president’s surprise Nobel prize.
“Michelle and I were commenting on the fact that when Dr King won his prize it had a galvanising effect around the world, but also lifted his stature in the United States in a way that allowed him to be more effective,” US President said.
He said he was honoured to receive the peace prize, and had paid tribute to the work of the Nobel committee in the guest book.
“I think it’s important to congratulate the Nobel Committee for the work that it’s done over the course of history to highlight the cause of peace, but also to give voice to the voiceless and the oppressed around the world.”
Martin Luther King won the Nobel peace prize in 1964. Obama has often said that he owes part of his success in becoming the first black US president to the legacy of the civil rights leader.
