Six hurt in Gujranwala clash

GUJRANWALA: At least six people were injured in an armed clash between two rival groups here on Sunday.
City Police Officer (CPO) Gujranwala Ahsan Tufail told media that the clash occurred in Baghbanpura’s Shahrukh Colony.
Hussain, Usman, Rizwan, Ahsan, Akmal and Faiq were injured in the clash, he said.
Rescue teams took the injured people to civil hospital for treatment.
Police have cordoned off the area after the incident and tension prevailed there. TrendPK
Heavy rain drowns many areas of Lahore

Heavy rain hit Lahore and its suburbs which gave relief to the citizens from hot and humid weather.
The heavy rain also caused problems for the citizens as rainwater accumulated in the low-lying areas while heavy showers also created traffic problems as roads remained submerged in water, suspending routine life for quite some time.
Most streets and roads in the city were inundated with rainwater, exposing the planning of the departments concerned.
According to the Met Office the city received about 81mm rain.
Rain also showered in different cities of the province including Gujranwala, Kasur, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Sialkot, Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
CNG supply cut off for 2.5 days in Multan, Gjrwl, lhr regions

LAHORE: Gas supply to CNG stations has been cut off from today (Monday) for two and half days in Lahore, Gujranwala and Multan regions under gas load management plan.
CNG stations situated in Lahore, Gujranwala and Multan region have ceased to receive gas supply from 6am today for two and half days.
Hundreds of CNG stations including over 300 CNG stations situated in Multan region have been closed fown. TrendPK
6 killed, 65 hurt in separate mishaps
At least 6 people including two women and 5 minors got killed, while 65 others injured in fog-related accidents, trendpk.com reported on Tuesday.
As per Rescue 1122 sources, two women among three got killed while 10 others injured in a coach and tractor trolley collision due to low visibility near village Luk, Mandi Bahauddin.
In Gujranwala, a child got killed whereas 8 others got severely injured in a bus and school van collision near Kangi Wala at GT Road. In a similar accident at Ravi Pul Cheecha Watni 14 people of a same family among 18 got injured. Seven more people got wounded in Jhang. Lahore to Islamabad motorway has been closed for all traffic due to zero visibility on the road caused by foggy weather. Most parts of Khyber-Pakhtoonkhwa were also engulfed in mist forced closure of Peshawar airport.
Industrialists to protest gas suspension in Gujranwala
GUJRANWALA: Industrialists and traders of Gujranwala have called an emergency meeting on Monday (today) to outline a strategy regarding the increasing problem of gas suspension.
Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC) has stopped gas supply to more than 1,200 industrial units of Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot and Hafizabad for an indefinite period, leaving thousands of workers and laborers jobless.
The Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) has also called a meeting to announce a protest plan against the gas outages. Trend Pk
Gujranwala: Youngster becomes insane after he got bitten by a mad dog
A youngster lost his senses due to carelessness of messiahs after he got bitten by a mad dog in Gujranwala.
His parents could not get his treatment done from a government hospital due to unavailability of turn, so they brought him back home and tied him with the bed. Resident of Kotli Arbang Arup, Gujranwala, 18 years old Tauseef got bitten by a mad dog a year ago, which he did not inform anyone at home. Three days before, Tauseef suddenly lost his senses, after which his father Mohammad Saeed took him for treatment to district hospital but doctors referred him to Lahore. For three days, they waited for their turn at Mayo Hospital but could not get any sort of treatment, and had completely lost his senses.
Whoever used to go near Tauseef, he tried to bite that person.
Mohammad Saeed brought him back home and due to poverty, could not also get his treatment done privately. However administration of DHQ Gujranwala shifted Tauseef to hospital and again referred him to Lahore.
Gujranwala: SHO arrested over failure to arrest girls murderer
A Station House Officer (SHO) was arrested on negligence and failure to arrest the culprits allegedly involved in the murder and rape of a three-year-old girl in Gujranwala, trendpk.Com reported on Sunday.
Hundreds of protesters held a demonstration on Saturday, calling for immediate arrest of the suspects. Regional Police Officer Tariq Yasin met the victims parents and promised an exemplary punishment for the alleged murderers. The RPO suspended SHO Mian Jabbar and sent him behind bars for failing to arrest any of the prime suspects.

Punjab’s industrial gas supply halted for two days

ISLAMABAD: Gas supply in many of Punjab’s industrial regions has been halted for two days on Friday.
According to Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC) sources, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan and Bahawalpur industrial regions’ gas supply was stopped at 6:00am today and will resume at the same time on November 28.
Under the weekly break, gas supply to Lahore, Sheikhupura and Sahiwal’s industries’ will be closed on November 29 (Monday) at 6:00am, and will resume on December 1 (Wednesday) at the same time. Trend Pk
