LAHORE: The Director Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for Punjab, Zaffar Qureshi, who was investigating the National Insurance Corporation (NIC) scandal, has been changed Thursday.
Qureshi has been ordered to leave his charge immediately while Additional Director Admin Jawad Qureshi has been given additional charge of the FIA Punjab.
Sources said that Zaffar Qureshi held former federal minister Major (rtd) Habibullah Wrraich and others in NIC scandal on the orders of Supreme Court. Trend Pk
Pro-Masti slogans in Punjab Assembly lobby
LAHORE: Differences have emerged within Pakistan Muslim League-N on the matter of expelling Sanaullah Khan Masti while slogans in favor of Masti were raised in lobby of Punjab Assembly.
Supporters of Sanaullah Masti accorded him a very warm welcome as he entered the lobby of Punjab Assembly today. These N-League MPAs warned of giving resignations in case action is taken against Sanaullah Masti.
Uproar was once again witnessed in Punjab Assembly when Opposition Leader Chaudhry Zaheeruddin was not allowed to present resolution in favor of media.
The N-League MPAs warned that they would stand by Mastikhel if the party took any action against him.
It is pertinent to mention here that Mian Nawaz Sharif, a couple days ago, had directed to expel Mastikhel from the party.
Miscellaneous incidents claim 4 lives
KARACHI: Firing incidents in Karachi have claimed four lives leaving one injured, Geo News reported.
A taxi driver Kalay Khan was killed in a firing incident in Korangi Town while Qari Habibullah got injured.
A fifty year old woman was shot dead in Quaid-e-Abad area.
Two tied bodies were found in Mowach Goth area, they were identified as Abdus Salam, 28 and Abdul Sattar, 26.

Power Cut Grips Many Parts Of Blochistan
QUETTA, PAKISTAN: The prolonged power outage started at Sehri still continues in Balochistan as supply of electricity remained suspended in 16 districts.
KESCO sources told Geo News that 220 KV circuit of transmission line, coming from Sibbi, met technical fault, leading to cut of 300 megawatt supply to province.
Sources said power supply has been restored in Quetta, Zhob, Pesheen, Qila Saiullah, Loralai, Kohlu, Barkhan, Naseerabad,Jaffarabad, Sunny Shoran, Sibbi, Bhag and Makran division from Habibullah coastal power plant. Teams have been sent to Sibbi to remove technical fault. KESCO sources said province is facing shortfall of 450 megawatt.
