The explosion took place in Kotaki area of Hangu, but no casualties were reported. Security forces reached on the site. The bomb was planted on the roadside by militants.
On the other hand, militants blew up a girls primary school in Khyber Agency.

MIRANSHAH: A US missile strike on a militant compound in South Waziristan on the Afghan border killed four militants and wounded five others on Wednesday, local security officials said.
The strike took place in Dandey Darpakhel village, five kilometres (three miles) northwest of Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan tribal district.
“Two missiles fired from a US drone struck a militant compound, killing four militants,” a senior security official in the area told AFP.
This was the fifth missile strike in the region during the past six days. AGENCIES

ISLAMABAD: More than 5.3 million jobs may have been lost or affected as a result of the worst ever floods in the history of Pakistan that devastated more than 70 districts of Pakistan, the International Labour Office (ILO) said Tuesday adding that productive and labour intensive job creation programmes are urgently needed to lift millions of people out of poverty that has been aggravated by flood damage.
“Reports of widespread destruction show that the livelihoods of millions of people are threatened or have been destroyed”, said the ILO Country Director Donglin Li. “As humanitarian and reconstruction efforts proceed, we must begin working immediately to ensure that initiatives are established to monitor and create decent and productive employment and rebuild peoples’ livelihoods.”

HANGU: Triple bomb blasts targeting police van when it was on routine patrol in northwest Pakistan today killed a policeman and critically injured a Deputy Superintendent of Police, officials said.
Militants attacked a police van with a remote-controlled bomb on the Hangu bypass road in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.No one was injured by the blast.
However, the militants triggered another remote-controlled explosive device when a police party headed by DSP Farid Hussain Khatak reached the spot. As a result a policeman named Waliullah and DSP was killed while another policemen was seriously injured.
The officer was taken to provincial capital Peshawar for emergency treatment.
The third blast was reported at Unicef office on Sedano Badh Road that partially damaged the building.

29 militants killed in Orakzai operations
HANGU: At least 29 militants including two important commanders were killed during military operations in Orakzai agency, Geo News reported Friday.
According to sources, commanders Zahidullah and Suleman Mehsud were killed in operations.
