South Africa resumed on 139-2 and Kallis and Amla looked relatively untroubled on a wicket which offered very little assistance to the bowlers.
The duo brought up their century-stand for the third wicket off 187 balls before stretching the stand to 163 off 50.1 overs by lunch.
The morning’s play was once again conducted in front of an almost non-existent crowd and Amla brought up his fifty shortly after the start of play off 104 balls.

Second ODI: Pakistan beats SA by 1 wicket
Pakistan 289-9 beat South Africa 286-8 by one wicket. Abdul Razzaq hit a sensational 109 not out from 72 balls with 10 sixes as Pakistan staged an astonishing recovery to beat South Africa in Abu Dhabi.
Shahid Afridi never expected Pakistan to bounce back from defeat the way they did against South Africa tonight when they scraped to a one-wicket victory thanks to an emphatic innings from Abdul Razzaq in Abu Dhabi. The all-rounder hit a whirlwind century to help Pakistan chase down the victory target of 287 with one ball to spare. Razzaq attacked Albie Morkel and Charl Langeveldt with brutal efficiency. And the winning hit came off the penultimate ball when Morkel was crashed through the covers for four. Pakistan had performed poorly in the 2-0 Twenty20 series defeat to the same opponents and were then swept to one side in the first ODI. In this game, Colin Ingram fired his second century in only his fourth ODI innings as South Africa put up 286-8, before Pakistan struggled to 70-4 in the 19th over. A familiar script appeared to be writing itself. Razzaq, who joined a select group of eight men to have hit at least 10 sixes in an ODI innings, went ballistic in the 47th over, which began with a required run rate in an excess of 13. Three sixes were pummelled off Langeveldt (3-75), and although a succession of tail-enders were run out in the process Razzaq managed to retain enough of the strike to keep his team in with a hope. For South Africa Colin Ingram made 100 and had good support from Hashim Amla (65) and JP Duminy (54) but the captain, Johan Botha, paid tribute to Razzaq.

ABU DHABI: Fast-rising Colin Ingram hit a sparkling century and Hashim Amla an aggressive 65 to lead South Africa to a formidable 286-8 in the second day-night international here on Sunday.
The 25-year-old Ingram scored exactly 100 for his second century after notching his first on his debut against Zimbabwe at home two weeks ago to show his enormous potential as South Africa batted solidly after winning the toss and opting to bat.
The left-hander put on 84 for the second wicket with opener Amla (65) and then another 86 for the third wicket with AB de Villiers (29) as Pakistan bowlers found it hard to put brakes on the South African innings.
Jean-Paul Duminy chipped in with a swift 43-ball 54.
It was Ingram who built the innings, hitting ten boundaries and a six off paceman Abdul Razzaq before he was trapped leg-before by fast bowler Wahab Riaz who
