TrendPK.com: Selena Gomez and her band, The Scene, are going their separate ways for now as they announced that they will be temporarily splitting up.
Gomez and the band announced the news on Facebook as she revealed that she will not be focusing on music during the next year, states UsMagazine.com. “My band and I are going our separate ways for a while. This year is all about films and acting and I want my band to play music wherever with whoever,” Gomez commented.
However, she also revealed that they will return in the future: “We will be back but, it will be a good while.”
The band has released three albums together.

Celine Dion comments on drugs killing Whitney Houston
TrendPK.com: Although the cause of Whitney Houston’s death has not been confirmed, Celine Dion apparently feels pretty strongly about drugs being the reason the legendary singer’s life came to an untimely end.
Dion spoke with ‘Good Morning America’ about the loss and why she feels it happened so soon in Houston’s life, states UsMagazine.com. “It’s just really unfortunate that drugs, bad people, bad influences took over her dreams, her motherhood,” Dion commented about the death.
Dion also commented that drugs are an ongoing problem in the industry that harms too many lives: “That’s why I’m scared of show business, of drugs and hanging out. That’s why I don’t go to parties!”
It is rumored that prescription drugs may have been the cause of death although it has not been confirmed.

Details about Whitney Houston’s final performance
TrendPK.com: It seems that Whitney Houston was performing practically right up until her untimely passing on Saturday as she reportedly sang publicly on Thursday night.
Houston’s friend, Kelly Price, revealed that the singer performed while celebrating at a pre-Grammy event in Hollywood, states RadarOnline.com. “We laughed, joked, cracked up, sang. I just gave her a hug and while I was talking she said, ‘Give me the mic,’” Price said about Houston deciding to sing that night.
The two allegedly sang “Yes, Jesus Loves Me” together that night.

‘Jersey Shore’s’ JWOWW talks not getting along with “The Situation”
TrendPK.com: ‘Jersey Shore’ star Jenni “JWOWW” Farley has always had problems with Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, something that certainly hasn’t changed this year.
JWOWW recently commented on how he’s been acting on the show and how she thinks he needs to realize how he has been seen on TV, states Hollyscoop. “He puts himself in this position, and I’m kind of glad that he’s getting a reality check that he can’t get away with what he does to his roommates,” JWOWW commented.
However, she is also realizing that she was right about him from the start: “I do recall hitting him the first season and I did not hit him for no reason.”

Tia Carrere Finds Tough Broads on Season 5 of ‘Celebrity Apprentice’

TrendPK.com: Season five of “The Celebrity Apprentice” doesn’t debut until Feb. 19, so contestant Tia Carrere has to be circumspect about what she reveals regarding her journey on the show. But it can’t have been too hard on her — considering that now she’s now contemplating opening her own business back in her native Hawaii.
“The great thing was I found out I’m a really good team player. I’ve never been in a corporate environment before,” says the actress and Grammy-winning musician who rose to fame in the “Wayne’s World” movies. “I was pleased that I was able to anticipate people’s needs and be a self-starter. Most important, I promised myself going in that no matter what, I would maintain my integrity. There is no reason for being backbiting and manipulative. Other people are — but I guess that makes good TV, doesn’t it?
“I was surprised. Some of these broads are tough,” adds Carrere. She’s part of an eclectic group of 18 including Arsenio Hall, George Takei, Cheryl Tiegs, Penn Jillette, Clay Aiken, Victoria Gotti, Aubrey O’Day, Lisa Lampanelli, Adam Carolla, Victoria Gotti, Lou Ferrigno, Michael Andretti, Debbie Gibson, “Real Housewives of New Jersey’s” Teresa Giudice and Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider.
Carrere reports she was a last-minute addition to the cast. “They had asked me for the past few years, and I’d always kind of shied away from it because I knew it would be difficult. I was the last one to jump on. I didn’t have time to think about it. It was, ‘Let’s just see if make money for my charity,’ which is After-School All-Stars. It’s a group Arnold Schwarzenegger introduced me to nearly 20 years ago when we did ‘True Lies,’ that provides fitness and enrichment programs for kids all across the country.”
Even if she’d had the time, however, “You can’t prepare for this. What I like about the show is that we’re so exhausted and overwhelmed with the tasks we’re asked to do, people’s true personalities come through,” she notes. “Yeah, people put on this happy face, but when push comes to shove, all that wears off. I got some interesting insights about people: ‘Oh, you really went to that place? How disappointing.”
It’s already a ridiculously busy year for Carrere, who has just started filming her new recurring role on the USA Network’s “In Plain Sight,” and is also juggling hosting-producing chores on two more shows she says are going into production soon. “One is called ‘Forsaken Places’ and the other is called ‘Street Stars,’” she says. “I’ve got to go to Vancouver, and Albuquerque — and there’s another movie that I might do that would mean going to Montreal and Louisiana.”
Carrere admits she finds it “very hard” to be away from her six-year-old daughter for long stretches, but credits her ex-husband, British photojournalist Simon Wakelin for stepping up. “Bianca’s daddy is terrific about being right there.”

Jennifer Lopez on her kids wanting to enter show business one day
TrendPK.com: Jennifer Lopez has had a successful career in show business, but that doesn’t mean she is ready for her twins with Marc Anthony to go after the same career.
Lopez recently admitted that she would be more than supportive of her children if they chose to go into entertainment, but she won’t let them make that decision just yet, states RadarOnline.com.
“I don’t want them to be in the business at a young age. I just don’t think they need that burden, that pressure. They should have a normal life – go to school, play, grow up … If they want to go off and be artists or singers or dancers or pilots or architects or anything – then they have my full support,” Lopez commented.
However, she wouldn’t be too surprised if they do enter entertainment: “I can hear that Emme can sing. She loves to dance and will sit there for hours watching dance … She could be a choreographer. And I can see that Max is very comfortable in front of a camera.”

Adele sings publicly for first time since surgery to Anderson Cooper
TrendPK.com: Everyone has been waiting for Adele to return to performing after her recent throat surgery, and it seems Anderson Cooper was lucky enough to get just that.

Adele is reportedly not only singing at the Grammys on Sunday, but allegedly opening the show.

“Modern Family” star Ty Burrell added to cast of “Jackie Brown” prequel

TrendPK.com: Are you interested in a “Jackie Brown” prequel if Quentin Tarantino isn’t involved? How about if a cast member of “Modern Family” holds down a leading role?
Because EW is confirming that Ty Burrell, the loveable suburban dad on ABC’s smash comedy, has earned a role in writer-director Dan Schechter’s planned “Jackie Brown” prequel, titled “The Switch.” According to the site, Burrell will play Marshall Taylor, a “guilt-riddled country clubber who witnesses the kidnapping of a woman he secretly desires.”
Like Tarantino’s effort, Schechter’s film will be adapted from an Elmore Leonard novel, though the action in this story takes place 15 years before “Brown.”As of right now, John Hawkes and Mos Def have been cast as Louis Gara and Ordell, two Leonard characters who were portrayed by Robert De Niro and Samuel L. Jackson in the 1997 film.
EW says filming “is scheduled to begin in May, though no release date has been announced.”
