PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Tuesday put a ban on holding public rallies and protests in the historical Kissa Khwani Bazaar located in the heart of the city of Peshawar.

Local traders today met senior minister Bashir Bilour and informed him about the losses they had to suffer due to recent terrorist attacks in the historical bazaar.

Bilour said that the provincial government had accepted the traders’ demands to ban rallies and demonstrations in Kissa Khwani Bazaar. SAMAA

Forces kill 12 militants in Orakzai blitz

PESHAWAR: Security forces claimed killing at least 12 extremists while scores others sustained injures during fierce clashes occurred in Orakzai Agency on Sunday morning, Geo news reported citing security forces sources.

Security forces bombarded militants’ skirmishes in separate parts located in the heart of Orakzai Agency, resulting in killing 12 terrorists, injuring many more. Meanwhile, four hideouts were also completely annihilated during the action, sources told media.

A number of 1500 terrorists have been killed so far in clashes with security forces in Orakzai Agency and nearly 1900 hideouts have been destroyed including many training centers.

Israel to stop all aid ships reaching Gaza: defence official

JERUSALEM: Israel will prevent all aid ships from reaching Gaza, a defence official warned on Tuesday, as activists vowed a new attempt to run the blockade despite the bloody ending to its latest mission.

“We will not let any ships reach Gaza and supply what has become a terrorist base threatening the heart of Israel,” deputy defence minister Matan Vilnai told public radio.

Win McMurry Makes Tiger Woods “Bulging” Gaffe

The Golf Channel, Sunday became the Spice Channel as a reporter for the cable network made a blunder on the X-rated disc swelling of Tiger Woods.

Barbara Walters said she will have surgery later this week to replace a faulty heart valve and take the summer off from “The View” to recuperate.
Her co-hosts got the news Monday morning shortly before viewers did. “I thought it best not to talk about it too far in advance,” Walters said.

The recovery process is expected to take one to three months. With a break in July and hiatus in August, Walters and her doctor decided that now was a good time to take care of business. Walters said she’s known about the problem for “many months
Walters says she plans to recover from her operation during the show’s summer hiatus and then come “roaring back” to “The View.” She said recovery time for an operation of this stature can take between one to three months.
She said her condition would be a surprise to many friends. “But I thought it best not to talk about it too far in advance.”

Walters said she had not felt any symptoms from the narrowing of the heart valve, which can worsen and restrict the flow of blood to the heart.

Whoopi Goldberg, her co-host on ABC’s “The View,” asked Walters if she is scared.

“Look, nobody wants to have this kind of surgery,” Walters said, but added that it has become more commonplace and done safely.
