ISLAMABAD: After an increase in the prices of oils, there is a chance of an increase in the prices of petroleum products from Rs. 1.50 to Rs. 3.50 from December 1, 2010.

According to OGRA sources, there is a chance of an increase in the price of high speed diesel by Rs. 2.50 and petroleum by Rs. 1.50. There may also be an increase in light diesel by Rs. 2, and kerosene oil and HOBC by Rs. 1.50 per liter. Trend Pk

ISLAMABAD: The petroleum prices likely to go up by midnight (November 1), Trend Pk learnt Sunday evening.

The petrol price is expected to mount up by Rs 5.97 per liter while high speed diesel will go up by Rs 4.50 per liter.

Sources told that the prices of HBO and kerosene oil will go Rs 5.10 per liter.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority will announce the new prices of petroleum products by midnight. Trend Pk

Production of oil refineries decrease due to floods

Gross production of oil refineries decreases due to the situation developed by floods.
According to an initial estimate, the gross product in the first two months of the current fiscal year has decreased by 18 percent. Product in July and August appeared to be 12 hundred thousand tons, which is 2 hundred thousand tons less than previous year. In the month of August, only 482 tons of refined petroleum products were produced due to a blockade by PARCO because of floods. Production of furnace oil decreased by 20 percent and of high speed diesel and petrol by 13 and 16 percent respectively, as compared to the previous year.

Petrol declined to Rs 70.67 with a decrease of 64 paisas. In a press conference, ORGA’s senior executive director finance Syed Jawwad Naseem announced slight decrease in petroleum products. According to which, light speed diesel reached at Rs 69.47 with a decrease of 60 paisas, high speed diesel slashed to Rs 69.89 with a decrease of Rs 1.97, kerosene oil decreased to Rs 61.50 with a decline of Rs2.56 and HOBC reached to Rs68.06 with a decrease of 78 paisas. Petrol and HOBC rates have been decreased by one percent each while light and high speed diesel prices have been decreased by three percent each. Kerosene oil has been decreased by 4 percent. New prices have been applied from today.
