Kate Hudson Confirms She is Engaged

Kate Hudson confirmed the news of her engagement to Muse frontman Matt Bellamy on American TV during a guest appearance on the Today Show. The show’s host, Matt Lauer noticed the large square-cut diamond ring she was wearing on her wedding finger. Hudson responded with;
“I’m engaged!” she said. “It just happened a week ago.”
“I’m so glad you noticed. I haven’t really announced it and I felt like the announcing thing feels so silly, and I was just waiting for someone to notice. “
Hudson wouldn’t give any further details about the proposal but she did say that it was “very sweet, very romantic.”
Kate and Matt, who are both 32, are expecting their first child together this summer and, despite their engagement are in no hurry to get married.
“He’s a beautiful man and I’m very excited, but I think we’re going to sit in to the baby thing for a little bit,” she said.

NEW YORK–The U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port of New York and New Jersey is establishing Naval Protection Zones and Safety Zones on the Upper New York Bay and Hudson River for the 2010 New York Fleet Week.
The potential exists for unanticipated delays affecting ship movements and/or the control of vessels with little or no warning within the Port of New York and New Jersey from Wednesday, May 26, through Wednesday, June 2, 2010.
“We want to encourage boaters to enjoy the Parade of Ships during Fleet Week, but are urging everyone to be safe and respect the established safety and security zones while on the water,” said Lt. Cmdr. Ed Munoz, Coast Guard Sector New York Chief of Waterways Management.
The following are general restrictions for the Hudson River and Upper New York Bay during the May 26 parade of ships and throughout Fleet Week:
* During the May 26 Parade of Ships, all vessel traffic in the Hudson River shall transit to the west of the parade column while naval vessels are in transit on the Hudson River. All vessels shall operate at the minimum safe speed necessary to maintain course and shall proceed as directed when within the 500 yard safety/security zone. The Coast Guard Cutter Abbie Burgess will be managing the overall Parade of Ships security for participants. Additional details regarding the Naval and Coast Guard vessels involved in the Parade of Ships can be found here: http://homeport.uscg.mil/newyork.
* Commercial passenger vessels on established ferry routes and other vessels will be permitted to cross ahead or between naval vessels while they are in parade formation at a 250 yard distance with Patrol Commander permission.
* Following the passage of the last naval vessel in formation all transits shall be coordinated with Vessel Traffic Service New York (VTS NY.)
* All traffic shall not enter within 200 yards of any moored U.S. naval vessel.
* No vessels are authorized within the restricted area around the Stapleton Homeport Pier on Staten Island from 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 25 through 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 02, 2010.

Latest news updates about Jennifer Hudson Christmas Special :- Jennifer Hudson, will be starring in an hour-long primetime Christmas special this holiday season. ABC has announced that Jennifer Hudson: I’ll Be Home For Christmas will air on Monday, December 14, 2009 at 8PM ET/PT.
The show will feature Hudson singing popular holiday songs such as “O Holy Night” and “Silent Night,” but will also follow her throughout her hometown of Chicago. Hudson will take us to see places that evoke special childhood memories and locations that have influenced her musically.
The one-hour Jennifer Hudson Christmas Special, which will take place in Hudson’s hometown of Chicago, will follow the star as she “relives her childhood Christmases with musical performances shot on location at the small neighborhood church where she brought the congregation to its feet week after week; the music academy where she studied; and other Chicago sites,” ABC said in a press release.
Hudson will also visit with family and “childhood friends and others whose influences have been instrumental in her rise from humble beginnings to Hollywood stardom.”

Teterboro Plane Crash, New Jersey State Police say a small plane crashed near Teterboro Airport and the two men on board, the pilot and a passenger, walked away from the fiery wreckage.
One man was taken to St. Barnabas Medical Center with burns and the other was taken to Hackensack Medical Center.
Little Ferry police say the twin-engine Beechcraft crashed while trying to land.
Police believe the flight had originated in Reading, Pa., and was carrying blood specimens for Qwest Diagnostics.
Federal Aviation Administration officials were investigating.
Teterboro is the same airport where a plane took off earlier this month before colliding with a sightseeing helicopter over the Hudson River. Nine people were killed aboard the two aircraft.
In 2005, a corporate jet went off the runway at Teterboro, crashed through a fence and crossed a highway before smashing into a warehouse. Twenty people were injured.

Hudson River plane crash video, Just days after authorities completed the recovery efforts of the nine victims and plane wreckage in the Hudson River, new video of the collision has come out.
The single-engine plane was hit by a helicopter, sending both aircrafts into the river. The plane, a Piper Saratoga PA-32, was found lying on its side at the bottom of the river.
The collision has led to calls for more restrictions on use of airspace around Manhattan – and two air traffic controllers have been removed from duty for having a conversation.

She says, “Beauty doesn’t win a fight”.
“What wins a fight is training hard, working hard, and that’s what I do: Train hard every time. Being pretty or not is not the point. The point is she’s the No. 1 fighter, and that’s what I’m going for.”
So will Santos come on top of Carano in the fight slated to be held tomorrow or Carano will continue to dominate the fight as she has done in the past will be known when the result is out. So wait till the fight begins.

Mina Brees, Mother of Drew Brees – Dies at 59, The Austin American-Statesman reports that Mina Brees, former president of the Austin Bar Association has died.
According to the paper, her brother Marty Akins says she died Friday in Colorado while visiting her son, Reid. Her other son is NFL quarterback Drew Brees, with whom whe reportedly had a falling out during her run for the Texas 3rd Court of Appeals in 2006.
The paper also reports that last week, the Texas Attorney General subpoenaed her business records following ownership claims to several Austin and Houston restaurant names.
