Looks like Jim Carrey has passed the entertainment business on to his daughter based off the performance that she delivered on America Idol last night. Jane will be making it to Hollywood because the judges felt as though she has potential and Jennifer Lopez only had one issue which was that she needs to connect with the audience more.
Last night there were a lot of different performers who were trying out but if Jane is anything like her father we can imagine that she was the one who stood out the most. Fans are patiently waiting until Wednesday night so they can find out what else they have to look forward to when American Idol returns.

Nicole Faria’s family not surprised by Miss Earth win

NEW DELHI: The family of Nicole Faria, the 20-year-old from Bangalore who became the first Indian woman to be crowned Miss Earth, say that the win was “hardly a surprise”.
Faria’s success has come as no surprise to her family who are well acquainted with her winning ways and her belief in the adage “I know I can”.
“We knew she would win. We were hardly surprised,” says George Pearson, Nicole”s uncle, whose prediction that she would win came true last night when she clinched the Miss Earth title in a glitzy ceremony in Vietnam.
Nicole has turned out to be the best advertisement for her parents, father Ian Faria, a motivational speaker and corporate trainer and mother Anita, who works with the reputed beauty group VLCC.
“She owes a large part of her success to her father, who has always motivated her to win. It was he who taught her how to talk, how to walk. He groomed her to be a winner,” said George adding that Nicole’s motivational lessons began when she was young and so did the grooming.
A student of Christ College and Mount Carmel College, she had full family support when she decided to take up modelling as a 16-year-old.
A Prasad Bidapa protege, she has walked the ramp since 2005 and been on the pages of fashion magazines like Elle, Cosmopolitan and Vogue.
Her winning moment came when she clinched the Miss India Earth title at the Miss India 2010 beauty pageant in Mumbai.
Born to a Goan father and Punjabi mother, music and dancing has always been in her genes and it was belly dancing that helped Nicole clinch the Miss Earth title.
“Shakira has alway been her idol. She mimicked her all the time, crooned like Shakira and danced like her,” said her cousin Neha.
“At all birthday celebrations, parties, Nicole, a natural performer, always vowed her family with her belly dancing and her mimicry,” she added.
The family has been trying to get in touch with her since the win but has not been able to do so.
“We are waiting for her to arrive to celebrate,” they said.

Akshay Kumar has made a secret pledge to himself. As soon as the first copy of his retro-homage to the 1970s, Action Replayy, is complete, the first person who will watch the film will be his father-in-law Rajesh Khanna.
Arrangements have already been made for the special screening sometime next week. Akshay has clearly told his director-friend Vipul Shah that no one gets to see Action Replayy before Rajesh Khanna.
Ever since Akshay Kumar could remember, he has been the hugest fan of Rajesh Khanna. And now the reclusive Khanna has been coaxed out of his ivory tower to view his son-in-law’s latest film which pays homage to the decade when Rajesh Khanna ruled.
Says Akshay Kumar, “As a kid, I was the biggest Rajesh Khanna fan. Who wasn’t his fan in the 1970s? I remember queuing up for hours to watch Aradhana, Amar Prem, and Kati Patang. These are among my favourite films of all times.”
Interestingly, Akshay married his idol’s daughter in real life. Marvels Akshay, “Look at what destiny had in store for me. I married my idol’s daughter! I still can’t believe it.”
Convincing the reclusive Khanna wasn’t easy. Says Akshay, “But I was determined that he watches the film. The film is set in the era that belongs to my father-in-law. I am so proud of being part of the family now. Yes, Mr. Khanna will be the first person to watch the film. I’m determined about that.”
Akshay Kumar to play himself in Breakaway
In Breakaway, the Indo-Canadian film that Akshay Kumar is co-producing with his best-friend Canada-based entrepreneur Ajay Virmani to launch Virmani’s son Vinay, the star will for the first time appear as himself.
Akshay will play Akshay in Breakaway and that too because the debutant Vinay Virmani, who has co-scripted Breakaway, hero-worships Akshay and wrote the role especially for the star.
Says a source close to the project, “Akshay and AJ (that’s how Ajay Virmani likes to be known) go back a long way. In fact, AJ has a permanent room in his home for Akshay for whenever the star visits Toronto. Earlier, AJ ghost-produced some of Akshay’s films. Now they’re openly into joint ventures. Akshay has virtually seen Vinay grow up in front of him. The boy completely idolizes Akshay to the extent of imitating his mannerisms and watching all his films repeatedly.”
When Vinay wrote the father-son story in Breakaway, he not only borrowed scenes from his own life with his father-figure Akshay, the boy insisted on creating a cameo for his idol. For the first time, Akshay Kumar will appear as himself on screen.
Confirming this, Anupam Kher who plays Vinay Virmani’s father in Breakaway says from Toronto, “Akshay will appear as himself in the film. Breakaway is an emotional father-son story. I accepted the film because I’ve a very powerful role as a father.”
Anupam tried to grow a beard for the part. But finally gave up. “The facial growth was just not sufficient. So Vinay will have to make do with a beardless father.”

Seven out of the eight American Idol winners returned to the Idol stage last night and performed a tribute to outgoing judge Simon Cowell.
Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia Barrino, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Jordin Sparks and Kris Allen, joined by a gaggle of past contestants gathered on stage to sing Delta Goodrem’s ‘Together We are One.’ The only person missing was season seven winner David Cook, who had to attend a charity event instead.
Their duet is particularly special because it’s dedicated to our favorite cantankerous judge. Clarkson’s Facebook page announces, “Don’t miss Kelly performing tonight on American Idol! She and fellow winner Fantasia will be performing ‘Together We Are One’ as a farewell performance to Simon Cowell.”
Season One winner Kelly Clarkson’s Facebook page announced the performance earlier in the day, alerting fans not to miss her performance on the finale tonight. It read:
“Don’t miss Kelly performing tonight on American Idol! She and fellow winner Fantasia will be performing ‘Together We Are One’ as a farewell performance to Simon Cowell.”

Asha Parekh’s biggest fan Madhur Bhandarkar breaks down
From carrying video cassettes to his favourite actress’ place to actually giving her an award on a public function, Madhur Bhandarkar couldn’t digest the reality when he met his idol Asha Parekh.
Sometimes when one comes face to face with one’s idol, one doesn’t know how to react. So it happened when Madhur Bhandarkar met Asha Parekh at an awards function where Madhur gave the veteran actress an award.
Too timid and “too much of a fan” to express his admiration and love, Madhur couldn’t muster the courage to say what he had always wanted to tell his favourite actress. Until he could hold his admiration back no more.
Says Madhur, “I had saved it all up for years. I was and I am Ashaji’s biggest fan. I loved every film of hers and would watch Love In Tokyo, Teesri Manzil, Jab Pyar Kissise Hota Hai, Kanyaadan, Kati Patang, Chirag and Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki over and over again. When I became an assistant at a video parlour, I made sure I was given the route where Ashaji lived. I told her the exact location and architecture of her bungalow. She has moved. But a part of me still lives in that bungalow.”
Madhur remembers he would sneak up to her house and try to peep into her house when the maid would open the door to take the video cassettes.
Recalls Madhur, “I never got a glimpse of my diva. When I came face to face with Ashaji at the awards function my knees trembled and my hands shook. I couldn’t speak.”
Ashaji smiles when told of her biggest fan’s response to being in her presence. “Madhur is a very sweet boy. And a fine filmmaker. I love his movies. He makes such powerful films with women as central characters. He told me about how much I meant to him. I am surprised he still thinks well of me.”
Madhur wants to cast his idol in a film. At the moment Ashaji is busy with the first anniversary of her hospital’s re-opening on May 9. She plans to meet Madhur after that.

I think that some would make a good job out of it but I am also sure that many would butcher her songs. American Idol top 12 Season 9, The eighth season of American Idol premiered on January 13, 2009 and concluded on May 20, 2009. Judges 
Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson continued to judge the show’s contestants, along with Ryan Seacrest as host. The season introduced Kara DioGuardi as the fourth judge on the Idol panel.[1] It was also Abdul’s final season as a judge.[2] Kris Allen was announced the winner of the competition on May 20, 2009, defeating runner-up Adam Lambert after nearly 100 million votes, the highest recorded vote total in the history of the show. Kris Allen is the only married winner of the competition at the time of his victory.
The eighth season saw numerous changes to the format of the show. There were 36 semi-finalists instead of 24, and thirteen finalists instead of twelve, nine contestants chosen by the public and four by the judges. Another addition was the “save,” which was used on the top seven results show to veto Matt Giraud’s elimination.
