Arvinda de Silva Could Not Bear World Cup Defeat
Sri Lankan head of selection team Arvinda de Silva has resigned from his post. He has resigned after the defeat. Arvinda de Silva said they were appointed to bring changes in the team and he think that they are not succeeded in making the team champion so resign from the post. Arvinda de Silva was part of 1996 world cup winning team and he want the repetition of performance of 1996 in 2011.
Sri Lanka has chance of world cup winning but they lost from strong Indian side. Arvinda de Silva said that team give 200% in the field but they were not lucky enough to win the world cup.
Arvinda de Silva Decision
Arvinda de Silva is disappointed after not succeeding and said that his team give more then 100% but failed. There are question for the inclusion of not 100% fit Murlitharan in the team. Arvinda de Silva said that he is ready to take the responsibility of Murli inclusion in the team.
Arvinda de Silva said that Murlitharan is a bowler who can change the match at any time and it was right decision to go with him in the final. Captain Sangakkara and vice captain Jayewardene has also resigned from the position along with selector Arvinda de Silva.
Shoaib Akhtar Eyeing Semi Final
Pakistan pace star Shoaib Akhtar is eyeing on the semifinal match between Pakistan and India. It will be great contest and lots of hope is also attached with 2nd semifinal match of world cup 2011. Shoaib Akhtar wants to play the match and perform well for Pakistan.
Afridi Hinted Shoaib Inclusion In Semi Final
Pakistan team captain Shahid Afridi said that the inclusion of Shoaib Akhtar in the semi final match against India will benefit the team. He said that Shoaib is Pakistan’s fast bowler and he will retire from the international cricket.
High Fever Doubted N McCullum Inclusion In First World Cup Match
Big news for Kiwis, N McCullum got high fever and his fever has doubted his inclusion in the world cup first match. He was not feeling well and was admitted in the hospital. He was suffering from high fever and his fever makes him out from the first Kiwis game on Sunday.
On Thursday night he was having high fever and he reports the same to the staff and after that he was taken to the hospital in Chennai. In the hospital it was discovered that he was suffering from high fever so he was admitted in the hospital.
New Zealand is schedule to play the first game on Sunday and so far McCullum is in hospital and likely to discharge on Saturday. He is doing well for Kiwis for last six months and is considered as regular member of playing XI. His bad health will affect New Zealand team.
He has played 16 matches out of last 20 matches of NZ team and also maintained a decent economy rate. He is also handy in the lower batting order and scored two half centuries for Kiwis. In last 16 ODIs New Zealand has lost 14 games. New Zealand will miss spinner in the first game.
Gambhir Hand Injury May Ruled Him Out From 2nd Test Match
Indian opener G Gambhir got hand injury. He was hit with a ball on his left hand and got swallow left hand. 2nd test match is starting from tomorrow and his inclusion in the match is doubted. He batted a lot in the rest days and worked hard on his batting but before the Boxing Day he had an injury on the left hand.
His hand swollen a lot and he was having his hand in the ice box all the day. M Vijay will be the natural replace for him and he will get a chance to play in the 2nd test match. M Vijay practices a lot before the match day and he is looking to have good start of the 2nd test match against South Africa. India wins the series against Australia 2-0 buy the well placed 139 runs from M Vijay.
He has average of 42.41 in eight test matches. He is called in for a short notice but it is hoped that he will perform his duty well and will provide his team an excellent start. Second test match will start from 26th December and India is trailing by 1-0. There are two test matches left in the series.
ICC Extended Deadline For PCB For Preliminary Squad
Pakistan Cricket Board gets extension from ICC for the announcement of preliminary 30 men squad for world cup 2011.
Pakistan cricket board had a meeting at it’s headquarter at Lahore but they were not able to decide the 30 men name for the world cup preliminary squad. There are some senior players who are not able to get PCB clearance. After the meeting it was stated in the statement issued by PCB that preliminary team will be announce on some later dates.
There is some news that PCB has asked ICC for the clearance of some experience players and sources said that there was debate in the meeting regarding the inclusion of these players in the team. PCB also applied for extension in the date of announcement of 30 men squad.
After reviewing the application of PCB it was decided that the deadline for the preliminary 30 players has been extended and now 5th December is the new deadline for PCB for announcement of 30 men squad.
Three Pakistani players Salman Butt, M Aamir and M Asif are suspended by ICC and PCB also asked for these three players. Other senior batsmen are also not getting clearance from PCB and there are some reports that the delay in announcement of ODI squad for New Zealand tour might be reasoned for not getting clearance from ICC.
Waqar hopes better performance of players in WC
Pakistan Cricket Coach Waqar Younas said that players would have to work hard for New Zealand tour and there would be no affect on the performance of the team with the inclusion of any player.
Talking to media, Waqar hoped that the players will perform well in the upcoming wolrd cup 2011. He said that Afridi was right that Miandad can be more benificial for junior players. He said that Muhammad Yousaf was not included in the team due to injury problems.

SRK once again earns wrath of Shiv Sena

Shah Rukh Khan seems to have earned the wrath of Shiv Sena yet again. In its mouthpiece Saamna, the Shiv Sena has criticised SRK for hosting a dinner party
in London for Pakistani TV channel Prime TV and that too today which marks the 2nd anniversary of the horrific 26/11 terror attacks.
It may be recalled that SRK’s comments on the inclusion of Pakistani cricketers in the IPL earlier this year had angered the Shiv Sainiks who had protested

Afridi served show cause notice due to selection comments

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a show cause notice to ODI skipper Shahid Afridi for raising apprehensions about the selection of some players for the upcoming UAE tour.
In an interview, Afridi said he was not in favor of the inclusion of five players in the ODI team.
“Being captain, I should have been consulted with prior to the announcement of the team for the tour,” he said.
PCB served a show cause notice to Afridi, asking him to submit a response in seven days for violating a clause of the central contract.
The central contract bars players from criticizing the team’s selection. SAMAA
