Multan: People suffer due to worst loadshedding

According to Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO), the city is facing a shortfall of 850 MW of electricity.
Multan is getting 2,150 megawatt of electricity against a demand of 3000 MW which also increased duration of loadshedding.
The urban areas are facing 9 to 10 hours of power cuts while in urban areas this duration ranges from 11 to 12 hours. MEPCO officials said that people are facing long hours of loadshedding due the increase in shortfall of electricity.
According to the Met office, the maximum temperature in Multan in the next 24 hours will be 27 degree Celsius with partly overcast condition.
Gas tariff to be increased before Eid
In applications given to OGRA, Sui Northern demanded an increase of Rs 22. 48 per MMBTU, while Sui Southern demanded Rs 22.35 per MMBUT.
The companies are of the view to increase the revenues; the increase in tariff is inevitable. Sui Northern says an additional revenue of Rs 13.65 billion is needed while Sui Northern demanded Rs 0.93 billion.
The companies also demanded the expenditures of elected representatives’ schemes. The OGRA has already increased the gas tariff by 13.55 percent.
13.5% increase in gas tariff approved
ISLAMABAD: The government has approved 13.5% increase in gas tariff here on Sunday.
According to sources, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani approved the increase which will be imposed on all consumers except fertilizer feed stock.
The notification is likely to be issued either tonight or on August 8 (tomorrow).
The petroleum ministry had advised 100% increase for fertilizer sector and 68% for CNG but the advice was rejected.
CNG association’s chairman, Ghayas Paracha said that the new rates of CNG are likely to touch Rs 66 per kilogram after new gas prices. TrendPK
We will protest in Karachi if drone attacks continue: Imran Khan
Addressing a gathering in the Keamari area in Karachi, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf Chief Imran Khan said that so far 34,000 innocent people have been killed in the drone attacks. He said that now if the drone attacks continued, they would protest in Karachi.
Imran Khan said that the time for a political change has come and he would not rest until his party comes in power and repulse all American agents working in Pakistan.
Imran Khan said that after the PTI comes in power, they would collect taxes from landlords. He also said that the increase in petroleum prices would affect the middle and the poor class the most.
PIA increases Haj fares by 6 percent
KARACHI: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced 6 percent increase in Haj fares. The cost of ticket from Karachi to Jeddah will be Rs. 72000 now.
The PIA made this decision due to the increase in fuel cost and decrease in Pakistani currency’s worth.
The summary to increase Umrah fares by Rs. 3000 has also been sent to the government, which is likely to be approved, according to the sources. TrendPK
PIA increases fares for Umra up to Rs. 2,000
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to increase the fares for Hajj and Umra. After the increase, Rs. 69,080 would be charged as Umra fare.
Meanwhile, after 6 percent increase, the Hajj package fare has been increased from 100,000 to 106,000 and short term Hajj fare has been increased from 120,000 to 1,27000.
According to the sources, PIA has devised a plan to increase Umra fares after every two weeks due to the increasing number of passengers.
LPG prices increase by Rs 3/kg
Marketing Companies have increased LPG prices by Rs 3 per kg while Distributors Association has warned to stage protest against the unfair hike in LPG prices.
Domestic cylinder would be increased by Rs 30/kg and commercial cylinder by Rs 120/kg. After this increase, LPG in Lahore, Gujranwala and Sialkot would be sold at Rs 123/kg and domestic cylinder would be available at Rs 1,426. In Karachi, domestic cylinder would be sold at Rs 1,210. Domestic cylinder would be available at Rs 1,546 in Murre, Kohat and Rawalpindi.
Aim is to Keep Enemy Engaged in Arduous War: Mullah Omar

KABUL: Fugitive leader of Afghan Taliban Mullah Omar in a message to Taliban said that the US is facing defeat and siege in each part of Afghanistan, ‘in line with our aim to keep the enemy engaged in the arduous war.’
In a written message spreading on four pages, Mullah Omar said the increase in number of troops in Afghanistan has only resulted in more deaths of these soldiers. “The US is losing lives in Afghanistan every other day,” he added.
He said ground realities have forced the US to become to open to peace talks.
In the message, Mullah Omar has called himself ‘Khadim-e-Islam’ and ‘Amir-ul-Maomineen’. His full name appears in the message as Mullah Muhammad Umar Mujahid.
Strongly criticising the Karzai government, the one-eyed Taliban leader said in the present regime the condition of Afghan people has only gone from bad to worse and their difficulties have only risen.
