9 dead in Bannu highway mishap
BANNU: At least nine persons, including three women, lost their lives in a road accident on Indus Highway near Bannu district, TrendPK.com New reported Friday.
Another two sustained injuries in the mishap, sources said, informing that injured persons have been shifted to District Headquarters Hospital, Bannu.
Rescuers said that the accident took place due to broken highway road.
According to details, a passenger bus, bound to Peshawar from Karachi, met a head-on collision with a truck near Landi Jalander place on Indus Highway, resulting in killing nine persons including three women and leaving another two critically wounded.
Those killed could not be identified immediately, police sources said, adding that accident occurred due to broken highway road.
More investigations are underway, police sources added.
Pakpattan: Blast at Baba Farids shrine; 7 killed
A bomb blast occurred at the shrine of Hazrat Baba Farid Gunj Shakar at Pakpattan, which killed at least 7 people, including 2 women, and injured over 20 others.
According to the eye witnesses, after the Fajar prayers two persons parked their motorbike next to the Sharqi (eastern) Gate of the shrine, and right after ten minutes a huge blast took place.
The explosive material is said to be planted on the motorbike. The sound of explosion was heard across the city, while ten shops located next to the shrine were also completely destroyed.
According to security officials, the blast took place at 6:05 am. Soon after the blast, people managed to shift the injured persons to District Headquarter Hospital where most of them were stated to be in critical condition. Emergency has been declared in DHQ Hospital.
Initial police reports suggest that the terrorists, who allegedly planted the explosive material to a motorbike, were aged between 35-40 and looked like Punjabis, wearing shalwar kameez, chaddars and white joggers.

In the area of Dasht near Quetta, a truck full of flood affectees going to Shikarpur overturned, killing 6 people including 2 children and 3 women instantly; where as 22 people also got injured.
The injured persons of this incident have been shifted to Quetta Civil Hospital. Ten people among injured are stated to be in critical condition. Most of the injured include women and children only. Two children, three women and the truck driver died instantly after this tragic incident. The persons killed were residents of Rindgarh and were going to their family village in Shikarpur when this accident took place. The injured were taken to civil hospital on Edhi Ambulances and private cars.

Cannot be burdened by tariff hike, FM tells IMF
MULTAN: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that the world now recognizes Pakistan as a nuclear power and that US President Barack Obama has admitted to Pakistan”s right to civil nuclear technology.
Speaking at the Multan Airport, Qureshi said that IMF has been told that the government is not willing to burden its people by increasing the tariff.
Following his participation in the Nuclear Security Summit in Washington DC, Qureshi said that the world has no issues with Pakistan”s security arrangements for its nuclear arsenal.
He said that the meeting with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton proved extremely fruitful.
The minister said that he was hopeful that Pakistan will get the next IMF tranche.
However, he maintained that they told IMF they cannot burden the people of Pakistan further.
Blast near Saddar police station in Kohat; injuries feared
KOHAT: A loud blast has occurred near Saddar police station in Kohat district early on Sunday morning, meanwhile, deaths have been feared amid explosion, police said.
Rescue efforts have been kicked off with no confirmation regarding the nature of blast, sources told media.
A number of residential buildings are closely located to blast place, media reports said.
Many injured persons have been rushed to District Hospital Kohat, hospital sources confirmed media.
Police and other law enforcement agencies have arrived on the blast site and cordoned off entire Kohat district.
All the exits and entrances around Kohat district have been closed down, police sources told reporters.
Eyewitnesses claimed the blast is a terror attack, which was committed through advanced technology.
Drizling In Lahore all Day
LAHORE PAKISTAN: The downpour in Lahore forced the cold to come back again turning the weather pleasant here once again, Thursday.
The light to heavy showers started late yesterday night in various areas including Mall Road, Defence, Garhi Shahu, Madel Town, Kalima Chawk and Gulberg.
Also, the rain disrupted the power system in different areas of Punjab, as rains were re ported in cities including Islamabad, Multan, DI Khan, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Gujrat.
According to Met Department, the spell of light rains will continue in next 24 hours in southern Punjab including Lahore.
RAHIM YAR KHAN:Girl Dies Amid Roof Collapse
A girl was killed while another six of her family members sustained injures when the roof of their house collapsed in Tehsil Liaquatpur of Rahim Yar Khan district.
Hospital sources said, the house was under construction as another room was being built on the rooftop of house when suddenly the roof collapsed, killing an 18-year-old girl namely Sameena, bound to be married after 10 days, while other six of her family members received wounds.
According to eyewitnesses, the residents of the nearby areas participated enthusiastically in relief efforts; rescuing those injured persons from rubble and had them hospitalized hurriedly.
The relatives of the injured family have complained of shortage of lifesaving medicines at hospital and are suffering miserably.
