Anu Malik’s daughter, Anmol Malik, launches her first single
Anmol Malik, singer of the hit song ‘Talli Main Talli Ho Gai’ from the movie Ugly Aur Pagli is all set to follow her father Anu Malik’s footsteps with the launch of her new song, which is composed, written and sung by her. The versatile singer is going the new age way and will be releasing her first song digitally in association with Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Pvt. Ltd, the largest aggregator, developer, publisher and distributor of Bollywood and South-Asian entertainment content in the world. The song will be available for digital download on Hungama’s distribution network, including Hungama.com, ArtistAloud.com, iTunes and various mobile portals from October, 2011.
With music in her genes, the multi- talented singer recorded her first song at a young age of 8 for David Dhawan and Vashu Bhagnani’s Biwi No.1 and then at the age of 15 for J.P. Dutta’s Umrao Jaan. Continuing her formal education from Dhirubhai Ambani International School, she wrote a song at her graduation while bidding adieu to her friends. When she was in the University of Warwick, England, she completed the composition of this song and made her father hear it, who instantly decided to produce the song. The first song to be released to a worldwide audience is a melodious English track with beautiful lyrics on friends, hope, life and goodbyes. It’s about graduation from the comfortable school life and to a new and exciting stage in life.
On the release, Anmol said, “Goodbyes are painful because they make you remember all the reasons you don’t want to leave. This is also a song about hope. The hope of meeting your old friends somewhere down the line, and cherishing those precious memories stored at the back of your mind forever.” Talking about her excitement on the launch, Anmol added, “I am very excited about the launch of this single. For artists likes me who have ideas for extremely offbeat topics, the quickest way of reaching our friends is through the web. That is how we finalized on the idea of releasing the song with Hungama.”
Anu Malik, on this occasion said, “I am very proud of Anmol. All that she has achieved today has been due to her own talent and hard work. She is my ‘precious’ child and I wish her the best of luck in all her future projects. I have and always will support any decision she makes about her career. I am enjoying taking the back seat this time as she turns composer and singer with this venture.”
After listening to Anmol’s song ‘The Graduation’ for the first time, Aamir Khan was so floored and captivated that he posted the song with the video on his Facebook page complementing Anmol on her lovely voice, wishing her best of luck! Others like Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani and Rohan Sippy too expressed their appreciation for the song.
Lady Gaga’s ‘Born this Way’ is a Monster Hit!

Lady Gaga’s latest single is proving to be a huge success. Apple’s iTunes announced last Friday, February 18, that ‘Born this way’ is now officially the fastest selling single in the history of the iTunes store. Usually Apple has declined to disclose sales figures but they have broken this trend with a statement announcing that ‘Born This Way’ has hit No.1 in all 23 countries that have access to iTunes.
Gaga kicked off the North American leg of her Monsters ball tour on Saturday at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall. But she also previewed her much anticipated third album to a small group of music press backstage. The album ‘Born this way’ is looking very promising indeed but fans will have to wait until May 23 for its release.
Apple to make iTunes announcement Tuesday

NEWYORK: Apple Inc is set to make an announcement Tuesday about its iTunes Store, the leading music retailer in the United States.
Apple posted a message on Monday on the iTunes website, teasing an announcement to be made at 10 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, but gave few clues.
“Tomorrow is just another day. That you’ll never forget,” the message read.
The iTunes store raked in more than $1 billion (623 million pounds) in revenue last quarter. The company launched iTunes 10 in September, and also unveiled Ping, a new social networking service.
Apple’s iTunes is the largest digital music store in the United States, and it also sells and rents movies and television shows. More than 10 billion songs have been downloaded from the iTunes Store since it launched in 2003.

Expect midfielder Hassan Yebda to be a crucial player to watch. If the Pompey man is in the right frame of mind he could help the north African side to three important points in Polokwane.

Algeria coach Rabah Saadane is currently gearing up for his team’s opening encounter against Group C rivals Slovenia on Sunday, but despite that imminent engagement he agreed to take time out to share his thoughts with FIFA.com. With his charges hoping to shine at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Saadane shed light on their preparations and his pride at being the sole African coach in the competition.
The 64-year-old is one of a kind at the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, being not only the sole ambassador for African tacticians but also the only Arab at the helm of one of the 32 contenders. Unsurprisingly, many are waiting to see what ‘Le Cheikh’ (The Sheikh) can achieve and whether he can inspire Algeria on the grandest stage of all. “It’s a huge honour for me to be the only representative of African coaches,” he said.
“It’s a heavy responsibility, however, as an African coach must always put in more work than coaches from elsewhere to earn the confidence of national association officials. I know there are lots of good African coaches in every country on this continent.
“Unfortunately, people always hesitate to give them a chance and encourage them to achieve their goals. But, in my opinion, all of that will change with time. For myself, it’s an immense honour and a huge responsibility, and I’ll do my best during this World Cup to show the qualities that Africans possess.”
Some have put the limited number of African coaches managing high-profile teams down to a lack of credentials, but Saadane has a different theory. “I’ll say it again: in all honesty, we have real talents in Africa and a profound understanding of the game,” he explained.

Itunes Download, Itunes Store, iTunes has become one of the most widely spread music managers today. The release of the iPhone and the new iPod models has only contributed to increase this popularity, thanks to the seamless synchronization of contents between the computer and your device.
Now with iTunes 9, Apple continues to develop and improve this music software masterpiece with fresh new features that enable users to make the most of their multimedia library.
Managing your iTunes library is a piece of cake. You can view extended information about each track, edit their tags and rate them. Also, iTunes lets you comfortably browse through your library with the amazing Cover Flow system or the newly implemented grid view, which displays cover artwork sorted by album, artist, genre or composer. And for those of you who work in a LAN environment, the great news is that you can share your music libraries with your network mates. If your family at home all have iTunes, you can activate Home Sharing, which allows you to combine your libraries, and keep them all up to date with new purchases and added music.
One thing I particularly like of iTunes as music manager is its ability to create playlists. The Smart Playlist tool enables you to create almost any kind of playlist based on just about any criteria you set: artist, genre, date added, star rating or even the number of times you’ve played each song. Another great playlist is the so called Party Shuffle, which comes in very handy when you invite some friends over to your place. You can then leave iTunes working as a DJ and play music on its own, but if you drop by the PC at any time, you can freely add more songs to the list or rearrange them in any way.
Regarding playlists, iTunes 8 includes now an exciting new feature called Genius. Just like other popular music sharing tools, Genius learns from the tracks you play on iTunes and recommends you similar songs, either from your own library or from the iTunes Store. In this way you can easily build thematic playlists by grouping similar songs, and also meet new bands you may not know about. The only drawback is that Genius needs to gather information about your music library and send it over to Apple in order to work, something that privacy freaks won’t be happy about.

However, if there’s something where iTunes is not perfect yet, that’s the player function. You may disagree here, but I think the iTunes player falls too short, especially when compared to its music manager side. It does have some interesting features, like the Smart shuffle function and crossfading playback, but I still find it too simple. I also missed the ability to control the player from anywhere with global hotkeys, which is great if you listen to music while you’re working on the PC with other apps. Fortunately there are some plug-ins that cover this need.
