Two tourists shot at near Delhi mosque
Gunmen opened fire on a tourist bus near the main mosque in New Delhi on Sunday, injuring two people thought to be of east Asian origin.
The incident was reported to have taken place near the Jamia Masjid, a popular tourist destination.
Local television reports said the injured tourists were Taiwanese. There have been concerns over the security situation in the city, which is due to host the Commonwealth Games next month. The attack happened near gate number three of the historic mosque, police Deputy Commissioner Jaspal Singh told the reporters.

Back channel diplomacy between India and Pakistan regarding the Kashmir issue has already begun, All-Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leader Mirwaiz Omar Farooq has said.
“I believe the process of talks is underway,” he said while addressing a congregation at the Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, adding that an APHC delegation would visit Pakistan after Eidul Azha.
“We will be meeting the Pakistani leadership. It is a part of our effort to seek a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue,” he said, adding that talks were also underway between Kashmiri leaders and New Delhi.
Farooq said “some agencies” bent on sabotaging any headway to seek a resolution to the Kashmir issue. He said the “ongoing struggle of Kashmiris” had entered a crucial phase and urged all the pro-freedom groups to unite in their endeavours.

Huma Akram laid to rest in Lahore
Lahore, Pakistan:- Huma Akram, the wife of former Pakistan cricket captain Wasim Akram, was laid to rest in Defence Graveyard Lahore on Monday.
Former Pakistan batsman Saeed Anwar led the funeral prayers held in Jamia Masjid of DD Block, which were attended by cricketers Inzamam-ul-Haq, Mushtaq Ahmed, Salim Malik, Intikhab Alam and Muhammad Yousuf among hundreds of other people including social workers and political figures. Rasm-e-Qul and Qur’an Khawani will be offered on Tuesday at 5:15 pm in Z-Block Defence.
Wasim told reporters that he had lost a close companion and friend and it would be difficult to bear the loss of his wife. “I just hope I have the courage and fortitude to raise my two kids properly,” he said.
Huma, 42, a psychologist and hypnotherapist died in a hospital in Chennai on Sunday after multiple organ failure.
