De Silva Has Some Reservations For Jayasuriya and Vaas
Arvinda De Silva, the chairman of selectors of Sri Lankan team has not given any indication that Jayasuria and Vass will be able to get their spot in the final 15 for the world cup. He said that both are experience players but they are out of cricket and haven’t play any international match since more then a year.
He added that 1996 heroes were added in the 30 men squad for the world cup but team management wants to give inform players a chance to show their skills. De Silva said that performance is the main key for getting place in the final 15.
Arvinda said that experience is required for the world cup but along with experience potential is another necessary thing. While talking about the young players he said that C Vaas is out of cricket since long but there are many young players who are doing good for Sri Lankan team.
West Indies ODI series was declared important by him for helping in the team selection. He said that it would be great if they have series and they will be assisted in selection of final 15 but if the series will not be completed then they will have to select the final 15 on the previous performance basis.
