“The Help” Wins Screen Actors Guild Awards

TrendPK.com: Screen Actors Guild presented its coveted Actor® statuette for the outstanding motion picture and primetime television performances of 2011 at the “18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards®” in ceremonies attended by film and television’s leading actors, held Sunday, Jan. 29, at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center.

Honored with individual awards were Viola Davis, Jean Dujardin, Christopher Plummer and Octavia Spencer for performances in motion pictures and Alec Baldwin, Steve Buscemi, Paul Giamatti, Jessica Lange, Betty White, and Kate Winslet for performances in television. Screen Actors Guild originated awards for the outstanding performances by a motion picture cast and by television drama and comedy ensembles. The Actor® for a motion picture cast performance went this year to “The Help”, while the Actors® for television drama and comedy ensemble performances went this year to “Boardwalk Empire” and “Modern Family.” Screen Actors Guild’s honors for outstanding performances by a stunt ensemble in film and television were awarded to “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” and “Game of Thrones.” Nearly 100,000 active members of Screen Actors Guild nationwide were eligible to vote for the recipients.

Dick Van Dyke presented Mary Tyler Moore with Screen Actors Guild’s highest honor, the 48th Annual Life Achievement Award, following a filmed tribute. Jessica Chastain introduced a film salute to SAG’s regional branches, spotlighting memorable moments created by actors who live and work across the nation. Meryl Streep introduced a filmed “In Memoriam” tribute to the actors we have lost in the past year.

PEOPLE magazine and the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) hosted the Screen Actors Guild Post-Awards Gala for the 16th year. This exclusive event, immediately following the SAG Awards on the back lot of the Shrine Exposition Center, honors the philanthropic causes and good works of the members of the Screen Actors Guild. The gala benefits the SAG Foundation.

The Bachelor After The Final Rose 2010, Do you feel bad for me that I have to sit and watch three un-DVRed hours of The Bachelor? I feel bad for me. At least there’s that last Dancing With the Stars cast reveal to look forward to. Will it be Paula Abdul? Please let it be Paula Abdul.

10:01 Tenley comes out first, and Chris Harrison pounds home the fact that she lost, trying to get some tears.

10:11 “It sounds like you have a lot of…issues,” Chris tells Tenley. Lots of unanswered questions that we’ll get to aaaafter the break.

10:15 WHAT. Jake is the last Dancing With the Stars contestant. What a kick to the proverbial balls, ABC.

10:17 Jake comes out and hugs Tenley. She says he smells “so good” and touches him weirdly in the way that she does. She asks if he’s happy. “I am,” he says. She asks what was missing between them. He says he still can’t really say it in words. She asks what he meant by the missing “physical connection.” Um, isn’t that self-explanatory? Then she asks if he thinks it was unfair for him to propose to Vienna if he really did feel strongly towards her as well? He tries to be nice and say that it was hard, but he felt confident with his decision. Tenley, sweetie, he could very easily say, “Listen trick, I’m just not that into you” but he’s trying to be nice. Let it go.

10:27 With Tenley shuffled off the stage, Jake calls Vienna his “baby,” then talks about the “heat” of their relationship. Ew. More recaps of recaps of recaps of Jake’s feelings. Chris mentions Jake’s “Mesnick,” aka grabbing a railing and crying for dear life.

10:31 Oh hey, the big Bachelorette reveal is coming up. That’ll get me through this slog. It’s the little things.

10:37 Vienna comes out to join Jake on stage, in the happy couple’s first public appearance together. They talk about how hard it’s been to keep their relationship a secret. I’m not sure people on the Bachelor fully understand the definition of the word “hard.”

Shahrukh Khan And Kajol breaks record With The Film DDLJ

MUMBAI INDIA: The hottest Jodi in bollywood viz. Shahrukh Khan and Kajol are on a roll again. Reportedly the two have gone on to become a special couple to have starred in the longest running films of the decade ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayeinge’ in a single theatre in Mumbai.

The Maratha Mandir movie hall in Mumbai completed 750 weeks of screening the film continuously on Sunday last. Reportedly this film has been the biggest draw for all age groups across Mumbai and its suburbs and surprisingly the hall has been almost full most of the times.

The film was directed by Aditya Chopra and produced under the Yash Raj Productions banner.Shahrukh and Kajol were paired for the first time in this romantic flick which was the beginning of a great chapter in the history of Indian cinema and specially so for the Hindi cinematic world.

What started off as an experiment turned out to be a great crowd puller at theatres all over the nation, Thus the hot and sexy chemistry of a true love struck couple was very much high lighted with this Jodi on screen and right upto this day the striking chemistry is appreciated by the audiences.
