Paramount to re-release Academy Awards nominated “RANGO”

TrendPK.com: The now Academy Award®-nominated Rango, from director Gore Verbinski and starring the voice of Johnny Depp, saddles up for a one week limited engagement at the ArcLight Hollywood beginning this Friday, January 27th.

The original animated comedy-adventure from Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies a Blind Wing/GK Films Production that takes moviegoers for a hilarious and heartfelt walk in the Wild West, was this morning nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Animated Feature Film.

Rango is the winner of the National Board of Review and Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Animated Feature, while top critics’ groups around the country have declared Rango the Best Animated Film of 2011, including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington D.C.

The incomparable Johnny Depp voices Rango, a chameleon living as an ordinary family pet who dreams of being a fearless hero and is challenged to become just that when he inadvertently becomes the sheriff of a lawless desert town called Dirt. Story by John Logan Gore Verbinski and James Ward Byrkit, Written by John Logan, Directed by Gore Verbinski, the visionary behind the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Rango delighted audiences of all ages, earning more than $230 million worldwide. The film also features the voices of Isla Fisher, Abigail Breslin, Alfred Molina, Bill Nighy, Ned Beatty, Harry Dean Stanton, Ray Winstone and Timothy Olyphant.

Emma Stone reveals her grocery store skin care secret

TrendPK.com: Emma Stone isn’t only being noticed for her talent, but also for her beauty which may make fans interested in how she gets her skin looking so great.

Stone recently revealed that she hits up the grocery store for an easy and affordable item she uses to maintain her glowing skin, states UsMagazine.com. “I’m seriously allergic to everything. So I just use natural grapeseed oil ($5) from the grocery store on my face as moisturizer. After the shower, I pat it on, and then I’ll use it throughout the day and at night,” Stone revealed.

And other than keeping her skin perfect, it has another perk: “I pretty much smell like a grape all the time.”

Former ‘Housewives of NYC’ star allegedly slams show

TrendPK.com: Former ‘Real Housewives of New York City’ star Alex McCord did seem fine when she was cut from the show, but now she is allegedly slamming the Bravo program she was once a star on.

McCord reportedly recently commented in an email about being happy to be off that show that she claims wasn’t even reality, states UsMagazine.com. “While we were sad to lose the dollars…we weren’t sad to be off that particular show,” McCord allegedly wrote.

She also reportedly commented on possibly doing another reality TV show, but assured the email recipient that it wouldn’t be like the last one: “We would never expose ourselves to another faux reality show.”

Katy Perry reportedly not on good terms with Russell Brand

Johnny Depp confirmed as America’s most popular actor

TrendPK.com: It’s official: Johnny Depp is America’s most popular movie star.

I know. Duh. Like you really need a poll to tell you that, right? But the Harris Poll, which surveyed 2,237 adults in the U.S. between Dec. 5 and 12, confirmed that Depp’s turns in “Rango” and the fourth “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie helped propel him to the top of the popularity charts. It was his second consecutive year earning the distinction.

Tied for number two are Denzel Washington, who was in the second spot last year, and Clint Eastwood who was number 9 on the list last year, according to results.

Rounding out the top five favorite actors is Tom Hanks in the number 4 spot, up from a tie for number 6 last year; and at number 5 the only actor to have been on this list since it began in 1994, the Duke himself, John Wayne down from the number 3 spot last year.

After being part of a three-way tie for number 6 last year, George Clooney now holds that position by himself. Up from number 10 to number 7 is Sandra Bullock who is the only woman in the top ten and dropping from number 4 to number 8 is Harrison Ford. There are two new additions to the list this year. At number 9, returning to the top ten after a two year absence is Will Smith and debuting at number 10 is funny man Adam Sandler.

The clothing featured in the ads will reportedly be available starting in February.

Lady Gaga Tops Forbes Celebrity Power List

Lady Gaga has been announced by Forbes as the most powerful celebrity in the world. Forbes magazine’s annual Celebrity 100 Power List is based on earnings, fame and global exposure in the media.

Oprah Winfrey has held the top spot for the last four years but now she sits in second place behind Lady Gaga despite that Oprah’s earnings are still three times higher than Gaga’s. But Gaga is currently the most followed person on Twitter, this combined with her 32 million Facebook followers helped her knock Oprah from the top spot.

“Lady Gaga tops our power list not just because of her $90m (£56m) in earnings but also because of her 32m Facebook fans and 10m Twitter followers,” a spokesman for the magazine tells Metro.

Johnny Depp to Guest-star in New Ricky Gervais Sitcom

Ricky Gervais has another TV sitcom in the pipeline called “Life’s Too Short”, Johnny Depp has signed up for a spot on the show. Gervais confirmed the news himself by writing on his blog “This Side of The Truth“. But he also confirms the rumor that Jerry Seinfeld will take part is just that, a rumor;

“The Depp bit is true. The Seinfeld bit isn’t.”

The shows story revolves around the day to day frustrations experienced by Warwick Davis. His character is an egomaniac dwarf who runs a talent agent for dwarves. As Gervais describes the show;

“Third in our trilogy of TV sitcoms, Life’s Too Short is another naturalist observational comedy, dealing with everyday problems, human foibles and social faux pas… but with a dwarf.”

The new BBC2 comedy is expected to have various cameo’s by big names. Gervais has co-written the sitcom with his longtime creative partner Stephen Merchant and they are both likely to cameo in the show themselves. “Life’s Too Short” will also air on HBO as a six episode series.

Johnny Depp loved being ‘silly’ for new movie

LOS ANGELES: Johnny Depp enjoyed making his upcoming movie Rango as it gave him the chance to “be silly”.

The actor provides the voice for the film’s title character, with stars including Bill Nighy, Isla Fisher and Abigail Breslin also displaying their vocal talents.

The comedy is CGI-animated, with the actor’s own facial expressions providing a reference for their characters, and Johnny loved delivering his performances on a soundstage alongside his co-stars.

“I think it just gives a bunch of grownups an opportunity to be silly,” he laughed.

The movie is set for release next year, and tells the tale of a chameleon that aspires to be a swashbuckling hero before finding himself stuck in a Western town plagued by bandits. Johnny felt he had a great deal in common with his reptile character, as he too sometimes wonders who he really is.

“Rango is a lizard attempting to adapt to his surroundings,” the star told ET. “He”s trying to figure out what he”s supposed to be, like most of us in life. It”s certainly like nothing I”ve ever done before, or any of us have ever done before.”

Jolie torments, Pitt smiles at ‘The Tourist’ premiere

NEW YORK: Angelina Jolie enticed in an ivory Atelier Versace angora gown at the premiere of her latest film, The Tourist.

She was accompanied by her partner Brad Pitt.

She accessorized with matching Salvatore Ferragamo pumps and spectacular rectangle earrings by her personal jewelry designer Robert Procop.

Her hair was styled half up half down with a heavily teased top and peek-a-boo bangs.

Speaking to the media at the premiere about her makeover in the film, Jolie said, “I had never played a lady… really… before… I had played a version of a kind of a girl… something really tough, or something cool.”

“I found it a big challenge to play someone extremely European, elegant, little bows and little pink. It was all very foreign to me,” she added.

Speaking about working with co-star Johnny Depp – who looked dapper at the event in a 3 piece pin stripe Polo Ralph Lauren suit – Jolie said they both had seen and liked each other”s films but had never met before.

“And we met and we talked about kids for the first hour and France for the second and had a good laugh. We really enjoyed working with each other in the film and I hope that comes across,” she added.

The film is due in theaters on December 10.
