Militants fire at NATO supply truck in Pakistan

PESHAWAR: Taliban fighters armed with assault rifles fired at two NATO tankers in northwestern Pakistan on Monday, wounding three people, police said.

“Around eight militants in two cars intercepted two oil tankers near the town of Pabbi on the Grand Trunk road and fired at them with Kalashnikovs,” local police official Hayat Khan told AFP.

“Two drivers and a helper were wounded and taken to hospital in Peshawar. Their condition is stable now,” Khan said, adding that oil leaked from the tankers but did not catch fire.

Intelligence officials in Peshawar also confirmed the attack and said the attackers fled the scene.

Pakistan shut the main Khyber Pass border crossing to NATO supply vehicles heading to Afghanistan on September 30 for 11 days after a cross-border NATO helicopter assault killed two Pakistani soldiers.

Four militants surrender in Swat

SWAT: Four militants on Friday surrendered themselves before security forces in Kabal tehsil of Swat.

According to security officials, they conducted search operation in two mosques located in Kabal tehsil and recovered a huge cache of arms.

The arms included eight hand grenades, two Kalashnikovs, one light machine gun and scores of bullets.

In addition, four militants laid down their arms before security forces.

3 Suspected Terrorists Arrested: Kashmor

Pakistan News: Excise police have arrested three suspected terrorists near Kashmor on Monday.
Sources told that a van, bearing number PA 1384 coming from Peshawar to Sindh, was stopped by the excise police and searched at Dera Morr check post near Punjab-Sindh border. Heavy arms and ammunition were recovered from the van. Rocket launchers, Kalashnikovs, hand grenades and bullet proof jackets were also recovered from the possession of suspected terrorists. The arrested terrorists include driver Zahid Noor, Ahmad Ali and Jaan Wali.

Mastermind of GHQ attack arrested from Bahawalpur

Lahore, Pakistan:- Police has arrested mastermind of GHQ attack, Qari Ishtiaq, from Bahawalpur on Tuesday.

According to police sources, Qari Ishtiaq directed the terrorists on mobile phone during terrorists’ attack on Army General Headquarters in Rawalpindi earlier this month. The police also recovered Kalashnikovs, hand grenades, rocket launcher and large amount of explosives from the culprit. Three more accomplices of Qari Ishtiaq, who belongs to Banned Tehreek-e-Taliban, were arrested from Gujranwala upon his indication.
