WASHINGTON: No Coup Against Govt: Hussain Haqqani, Pakistan envoy in United States Hussain Haqqani has denied speculations of coup in Pakistan adding the NRO ruling of the apex court would not affect the government.
In interview to an American television the envoy said the cases against President Zardari were mere allegation and no charges against him proved so far.
He said there is no coup being cooked up in Pakistan, adding the past coups have turned out to be greatly detrimental to the country.
Everybody including Pakistan’s high military leadership have achieved consensus that the Army should focus on guarding the national borders and elected government should run the national affairs in accordance with the Constitution, he maintained.

Court Issues Arrest Warrant of Rehman Malik

KARACHI: The Accountability court has issued arrest warrants of Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Friday.
Accountability court judge Mir Muhammad Shaikh has issued the warrants in NAB reference. Earlier, NAB had filed a petition in Rawalpindi accountability court for the restoration of references against 19 persons including Rehman Malik.

NEW DELHI: Ajmal Kasab Denies All Charges, In a dramatic twist to the Mumbai terror attacks case, main accused Mohammad Ajmal Kasab on Friday retracted from his earlier statement.
Denying all charges against him, Kasab said the statement was made under duress.
The lone surviving accused arrested by the police during the Mumbai attacks was scheduled to give a statement today on evidence introduced against him by the prosecution for his alleged role in the 26/11 terror attacks.
Two Indians, Faheem Ansari and Sabauddin Ahmed, who are facing trial along with Kasab, would also give their statements after the court records Kasab’s version.
All the three accused are charged with murder of 166 persons and participating in the conspiracy.
