Gizmodo editor’s home raided by police over Apple iPhone 4G leak
A technology blogger who edits the Gizmodo website which last week showed off a prototype of Apple’s new generation iPhone has had his home raided by police.Jason Chen, who edits the New York-based gadget internet site, was not at home when members of California’s Rapid Enforcement Allied Computer Team broke down the door of his house on Friday evening.
They subsequently seized four computers and two servers along with cameras and an iPhone using a warrant issued by a Superior Court judge (which Gizmodo published on its website), on suspicion the property was “used as the means of committing a felony”.But Gawker Media, which owns Gizmodo, claims the search was illegal since it was conducted at night and broke the US “shield law” which protects journalists and their sources.
Chen had appeared on the blog last week showing off what he claimed was a test model of the “4G iPhone”.
The device was left in a bar in Redwood City, near Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California, in March by Apple engineer Gray Powell, 27, who had spent the night there sampling German beers.
Gizmodo bought the device from the man who found it for $5,000 (£3,254) before publishing the new features of the phone along with pictures of the sleek tablet-shaped object from every angle in a video on the website.
The move prompted Apple to break its silence on the subject, writing to Gizmodo with a “formal request that you return the device to Apple”. Gizmodo said it had agreed to return the device to Apple but it is unclear whether it has already done so.
The police warrant exercised on Friday specified that property to be seized include any information about the prototype phone, its sale to Gizmodo and any subsequent research conducted about Gray Powell, who lost the phone.
The warrant also describes the phone as “stolen” rather than merely found and sold on, which suggests that the middleman who sold the phone and Gizmodo are suspected of infringing California’s criminal and civil laws against receiving stolen goods.

The WEE Draft 2010 took place last night on Monday Night Raw and it was an extended three hour show. There were matches between Raw and Smackdown to help determine the drawing.
The first person that was drawn was Kelly Kelly from the Divas who was randomly picked to go to Smackdown. Following the first pick, Smackdown had the next one as well as took The Big Show.
To determine the next three draft picks, a ten-man battle royal took place to decide which team would get it. The wrestlers were Smackdown’s Kane, Rey Mysterio, R-Truth, Drew McIntyre and Shad Gaspard going against Raw’s MVP, Mark Henry, Yoshi Tatsu, Ted DiBiase and Santino Marella.
The Raw team won as DiBiase was the one who finished it for them. Raw then drafted John Morrison, R-Truth and Edge.
The next draft pick was to be determined with the winner between Chris Jericho and Christian. Jericho won so Smackdown drafted Kofi Kingston.
The next match for the next pick was between World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger fighting against John Morrison. Swagger won and Christian was taken by Smackdown.
The last match was between Hornswoggle and Dolph Ziggler and the little guy won so Chris Jericho was drafted to Raw.

The last game of the series will be Team Mickie (Mickie James, Eve Torres, Kelly Kelly, Melina, and Gail Kim) against the team of Michelle (Michelle McCool, Jillian Hall, Beth Phoenix, Layla, and Alicia Fox). These ladies sure will make a beautiful ringside battle of fire in a dominant position within the ring.
Nothing can be better than WWE Survivor Series 2009 Watch free live this Sunday night, but of course this can not be the case. (WWE is all about money). Children are difficult, the parties are rough, and the girls are sure to be hot.
