Carrie Underwood received Entertainer of the Year victory over her rivals, who were Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, George Strait, Keith Urban and Zac Brown Band and Taylor Swift. The latter has been her toughest rival. Underwood was the only woman to have won the prize at ACM for two consecutive years of record.

KimBerly Williams, Brad Paisley Wife, Brad Paisley, We Are Marshall, Father Of The Bride: Brad Paisley has his fourth consecutive win for ACM Top Male Vocalist, while Miranda Lambert has her first-ever trophy for ACM Top Female Vocalist.
Brad, presented the award by Hollywood heartthrob Matthew McConaughey, was still dripping wet from the performance of his latest hit, ‘Water,’ during which he jumped into a hot tub. So, the notoriously funny singer asked Matthew, “Can I borrow your shirt? You’re used to not wearing one,” referring to the actor’s tendency to show off his six-pack.
“By the way, my wife [actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley] says she loved playing your wife in ‘We Are Marshall’,’ Brad continued. “But she says I’m a better kisser. But they didn’t have any kissing scenes in that movie so I have no idea how she knows that.”
Miranda LambertMiranda, given her vocalist honors by actor Josh Duhamel, was visibly shocked to be named the winner. When she heard her name called, the songbird looked at boyfriend Blake Shelton and said, “Are you freaking kidding me?”
“You’ve got to be kidding me!” she said again, this time into the mic, then giving a humble shout-out to her fellow nominees. “Reba McEntire, Lee Ann Womack, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift … and me? I didn’t get to thank very many people last time, but I really missed the most important person, which is the Lord. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you to my peers and the people in this business that actually voted for me and cared. Thank you so much to the fans. This is my life and you make it great. Thank you so much.”

Luke Bryan has won the honor of best new artist at the 45th annual Academy of Country Music Awards.
Bryan thanked his parents and said “no human” could be more nervous than he was accepted the award. Bryan took the honor over Gloriana, who won the top new vocal group award, and Joey+Rory, the duo winner.
Bryan’s recent Capitol Nashville release “Doin’ My Thing” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard country album chart.
Taylor Swift rocked the house tonight at the ACM awards! Taylor performed her hit song “Change” with UCSD’s a cappella group, The Tritones. Just Jared reports:

Becomes the first woman to win entertainer of the year twice Carrie Underwood made history at the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night, becoming the first woman to win entertainer of the year twice.
Underwood won the show’s top honour last year. This year, she beat out Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, the Zac Brown Band, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, George Strait and Keith Urban.
“I think I just got makeup all over Brad Paisley,” an excited Underwood said as she went onstage to accept her trophy. “Thank you, God, praise the Lord.”
Underwood also was recognized earlier in the evening with special trophy for “triple crown” of ACM wins — entertainer of the year, top female vocalist and top newcomer — in the course of her career.
Top-selling trio Lady Antebellum was the dominant winner though, grabbing five trophies. And the trio’s good friend, Miranda Lambert, won three awards.
Lady A, the top-selling trio that includes Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, was the lead nominee, entering the show with seven. Read more

They’re designed to deal with the problem of millions of homeowners who have been forced into foreclosure by the recent recession and plummeting home values. Rather than walking away empty-handed when their home is worth less than the mortgage owed, homeowners now have financial incentives to work with the lender to sell their home through a process called a Short Sale.
“A foreclosure creates devastating damage to your personal credit report,” says Margaret Kelly, CEO of RE/MAX International, a U.S.-based network of nearly 100,000 real estate agents. Many of her company’s real estate agents get special training in helping homeowners whose homes are worth less than their mortgages.

Country superstar Kenny Chesney was on Oprah Friday, and as only she can do, Oprah got him to talk about his short-lived marriage to Renee Zellweger.
The pair met in January 2005, married in May 2005 and had the marriage annulled that September, citing “fraud.”
After Kenny talked about how busy he is, Oprah asked if the lack of time was what happened to his relationship with Renee.
He said, “that and the fact that I panicked.” Then he started talking about “the box” in which he put everything he values, like his friends and musical success, and how he worked to “protect it… I protected that box.” So, Oprah asked, where was his marriage to Renee?
“Well, it was out.. out of the box!”, he exclaimed with a maniacal laugh. But he did call Renee a “sweet soul.”
Chesney then said he still hoped to be married, but “felt that the idea of marriage made me lose my identity… I just don’t know that I’ve found anybody bigger than that.”
