Barack Obama 250x167 Kerry, Obama urges Pak to release RaymondPresident Barack Obama and US Senator John Kerry said Raymond Davis who is detained in Pakistan for killing two Pakistani youths, had diplomatic immunity under Vienna Convention.

US President urged Pakistan to release the US man, as he is a diplomat.

Kerry man who played a vital role in approval of Kerry-Lugar bill, said no issue can impact the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Addressing a press conference here, the US Senator said, “We are living in a rule of law, where there is an international law by which this particular employee has diplomatic immunity. For us, there’s no question of that, we know exactly what the papers say, where we are. That’s not what I’m here to argue about tonight, that’s not my mission. My mission is to try to lay the ground work for people to approach that issue as it should be approached, but to keep us all focused on the larger issues that we need to be also working on.”

WASHINGTON: Pakistan had to do more to combat terrorists on its soil if it wanted to continue to receive substantial US aid, says John Kerry, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the US Senate.88dda886c0kerry Pak Has to Do More to Fight Terrorism: John Kerry
Kerry said the weekend bomb blast in Pune shouldn’t derail the resumption of diplomatic talks between India and Pakistan.

Senator Kerry also suggested that the Pune blast should be the first item on the agenda if India found a Pakistani link to the attack.

“The right thing is to talk; you lose nothing by talking,” said the senator who was the Democratic presidential candidate in 2004. “I hope India will have that conversation with Pakistan and, if they have evidence to that effect, that should be the first thing on the table and Pakistan has to deal with it.”

He reiterated the US stance that Pakistan had to do more to combat terrorists on its soil if it wanted to continue to receive substantial US aid. “Pakistan has got to make clear its willingness to take on internal enemies,” he said.

Senator Kerry said that in his view discussions over Kashmir should not be a “prerequisite” in the initial conversation between the two nations and that the US stood ready to assist either side if asked. But, he said, “I do not think we should impose ourselves in any way.”

The senator called on Pakistan’s army chief Gen Ashfaq Kayani after his arrival in Islamabad. He will meet President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani today.

Kerry Vera Vs Kim Couture, The UFC promotion will focus on the a2b493f3e9outure Kerry Vera Vs Kim CoutureNovember battle between Randy Couture and Brandon Vera, Strikeforce is ready to offer a Couture vs. Vera fight noviembre own: Kim Couture vs. Kerry Vera.

Kerry Kim Couture and Vera have verbally agreed to meet in a fight Strikeforce 135-pound, possibly on 20 November – which would be only six days after her husband, Randy and Brandon, meet at the event UFC Main 105.

Kim Couture  is 1-1 in his MMA career, while Kerry Vera is 1-0, so this is a battle of two newcomers, not two of the best fighters women in the world. But I think it’s a great fight for Strikeforce: The UFC will spend a great deal of time and money on advertising Couture vs. Vera and Strikeforce can benefit from such a pairing advertising.
