70 killed, 111 injured in Mohmand suicide attack
PESHAWAR: The suicide attack in Yaka Ghand area of Mohmand Agency Friday killed 70 people and injured 111 others.
Outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan have claimed the responsibility of the attack. TTP spokesman Ikramullah Mohmand telephoned Geo News from unknown location and claimed the responsibility of the attack, saying the target were members of the Ambar Aman Committee who were present in Assistant Political Agent’s office at the time of the attack.
Sources said a suicide bomber blew up himself outside political agent’s office in Tehsil Yeka Ghand at 9:30 am on Friday. The high intensity blast, heard across a wide radius, completely destroyed 30 shops in Yaka Ghand bazaar including two hotels while roof of a nearby house caved in.
Political Agent Amjad Ali Khan told media that 65 people were killed and 104 wounded in the incident.
Four personnel of Khasadar Force are also among the dead. According to sources, several inmates escaped after the blast that brought down Yaka Ghand jail building.
Most of the injured are in critical condition and more deaths are feared.
Funeral prayers of 7 dead have been performed in Government College Yaka Ghand.
Mohmand suicide attack toll reaches to 56
PESHAWAR: The death toll of Mohmand Agency suicide attack has been reached to 56 whereas more than 73 sustained injuries.
Sources said a suicide bomber blew up himself outside political agent’s office in tehsil Yeka Ghand on Friday morning. The high intensity blast has damaged nearby buildings and Yeka Ghanda jail premises. Rescue operations stated at the site of the blast and the bodies and injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Shab Qadar.
Political Agent Amjad Ali Khan told media that 56 people were killed and over 73 wounded in the incident.
Four personnel of Khasadar Force are also included among the dead. According to sources, several prisoners have been escaped after the blast that damaged the jail building.
Four bodies and 65 injured shifted to Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar after giving first aid at Shab Qadar Hospital where emergency has been imposed.

Clash In Malakand 5 Militant Killed
SWAT: Five militants were killed during a clash between security forces and militants in Malakand.
According to sources, five militants were killed during a clash in Thana area of Malakand Agency on Friday morning. Large arms and explosive cache was also recovered from their possession. The militants were reportedly foreigners whose bodies have been placed in the local hospital for identification.
Meanwhile, Swat media center announced curfew relaxation till 11:00 pm in Mingora, Fizzaghat, Charbagh, Kanju and Kabal whereas curfew will be eased till 6:00 pm in Matta, Khawazakhela, Darashkhela, Madeen and Peochar.

Eight Khasadars’ Funeral Prayers Offered
PESHAWAR: Funeral prayers of eight officials of Khasadar Force, who got killed in a suicide blast on Thursday evening, have been offered early today.
At least 22 personnel of Khasadar Force were killed and several others injured in a deadly suicide attack at Torkham of Tehsil Landi Kotal in Khyber Agency on Thursday evening, political agent Captain Tariq Hayat Khan (retd) said.
The suicide bomber entered in the office of political Tehsildar Torkham where the Khasadars were gathered in a barrack for Iftari and detonated himself just before Iftari, he told reporters.
The Chief Minister NWFP Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has strongly condemned the attack and termed it cowardice act of terrorism. He directed the doctors to provide every possible help and treatment to the patients.
