Top-secret Weisz wedding for Bond star Craig

NEW YORK: James Bond actor Daniel Craig and Oscar-winning fellow-Brit Rachel Weisz have married after a whirlwind six-month romance, her spokesman said.

Craig, 43, and Weisz, 41, tied the knot Wednesday in an ultra-secret New York ceremony. Reports said only four guests were in attendance, two family friends acting as witnesses, Craig’s teenage daughter and Weisz’s young son.

Weisz’s publicist Megan Moss confirmed to AFP that the couple had tied the knot.

The pair team up in the forthcoming “Dream House”, playing a married couple who relocate to a quaint New England town only to discover that their idyllic new home has been the scene of horrific murders.

Craig and Weisz have reportedly been friends for years but began a largely hush-hush romance on the set of the film, which is to hit cinemas in September.

Craig, star of Bond flicks, “Layer Cake,” “Munich” and later this year “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” has a daughter from his previous marriage to Scottish actress Fiona Loudon.

He was engaged to long-term film producer girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell for five years before they split in 2010.

Weisz, who won a supporting actress Academy Award for her performance in the 2005 drama “The Constant Gardener,” has a son from her nine-year relationship with “Black Swan” director Darren Aronofsky.

Their relationship also ended last year.

Craig has had two outings as MI6 agent 007, “Casino Royale” (2006) and the “Quantum of Solace” (2008). He is due to reprise the role in a 23rd Bond instalment, which is being directed by another Brit, Sam Mendes, and is due out in November 2012.

Anurag Kashyap and Kalki to tie knot on April 30

After playing the ‘yes-yes, no-no’ game for quite sometime now, reports have it that Anurag Kashyap and Kalki Koechlin will be finally tying the knot on April 30. The location has been chosen as Ooty, which happens to be Kalki’s hometown.

The wedding will be a closed ceremony and the couple has just invited 40 of their close friends. Reports also claim that since it’s a south Indian type of wedding, the lovely couple will be tying the knot at around 11am, followed by a grand reception.

The designer chosen for D-day is Laila Bijlani Motwane (who has designed for Twinkle Khanna and Tanya Deol in the past), who said that Kalki will be wearing a green and gold Kanjivaram saree with the traditional south Indian jewellery and her lehenga will be tri coloured: mango, orange and fuchsia. Anurag has chosen his own clothes which will be a cream colored kurta-pyjama. Meanwhile, news has come in that; the couple has even purchased a new pad at Versova, where they will be moving in post marriage.

Japan-Born Panda In China For Breeding

A Japan-born Giant Panda left Japan on Monday to head to China for breeding.
The four-year-old male panda, whose name is ‘Kohin’ in Japanese will be moved to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Born in August 2005, Kohin was raised at Adventure World in Shirahama, central Japan. Ahead of his departure, visitors gathered to say good bye and wish him a safe trip to China.
Kohin is the fourth Japan-born panda to return to China from Adventure World which is well-known in Japan for its success in breeding pandas. There are six more pandas at Adventure World. According to Chinese media, the panda will remain in quarantine for a month before being shown to the public. The gift of pandas, a popular attraction at zoos around the world, is often used by China as a diplomatic tool but also as a way to expand the breeding programme beyond its borders. Scientists believe about 1,590 giant pandas live in the wild in China.

Rakhi says, “How can one marry by choosing his or her soul mate through a public voting system?” In spite of the fact that she herself got engaged to Elesh Parujanwala in the last season of the same TV series that Rahul participated in, Rakhi now looks visibly annoyed by Rahul’s decision of getting married on the reality show.
“It is really difficult to choose a life partner through a public poll. I thought of only getting engaged with Elesh instead of marrying him so that I could get more time to decide. George Clooney To Tie The Knot

LOS ANGELES: Rumours are doing the rounds that Hollywood star George Clooney is planning to tie the knot with his Italian girlfriend.

The 48-year-old would be getting into wedlock with actress Elisabetta Canalis, 31, after dating her for five months, reported dailystar.co.uk.

“He seems to be truly ready to walk down the aisle with Elisabetta,” said a friend of Clooney.
