Los Angeles Lakers 2010 Championship Ring
Los Angeles Lakers 2010 Championship Ring, The Los Angeles Lakers celebrate their 16th championship win in true Hollywood fashion by contracting, for the second year in a row, celebrity jeweler Jason of Beverly Hills to create what will go down as the world’s most historic championship ring. Jason of Beverly Hills, known for his extravagant diamond creations for some of the world’s biggest celebrities and royalty, has completely revolutionized the industry with his out-of-the-box approach to design.
For the first time in championship ring history, Jason of Beverly Hills has decided to commemorate the Lakers historic win by adorning each and every ring with a piece of the actual ball used in game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals. This daring ring design also features 2 trophies that signify the back to back victories made from a custom batch of 16kt gold and 16 oversized round brilliant white diamonds to indicate the 16 historic Lakers’ championships. Employing the world’s most advanced 3-D technology, each player is immortalized with a 3 dimensional sculpture of their face on their respective rings.
Representing the new generation of fine jewelry making, Jason of Beverly Hills upheld their standard of expert craftsmanship, superior diamond quality and cutting edge design. “We wanted to create history with this year’s ring and I think we’ve done that!” says Jason Arasheben, CEO of Jason of Beverly Hills. “More than any other year, this year’s ring allows the owner to relive and own a piece of Lakers’ history with the leather from the Game 7 ball.”

This summer we’ll have everything we can possibly want to know about LeBron James and his NBA-Free Agency. It could even take on “Brett Favre Proportions.” Alan Hahn of NY Newsday gives us a look at some of the goings-on.
“For Donnie Walsh, the mission is obvious: Get Amar’e Stoudemire and you get LeBron James.
Of course, it isn’t quite that simple. First of all, with James’ situation so unpredictable – will he stay in Cleveland, will he go to Chicago, will he choose New York? – it is believed that Stoudemire has his mind set on joining Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat.
A person with knowledge of the situation said Wade already has started making his recruiting pitch to Stoudemire, who is still playing as the Phoenix Suns face the Lakers in the Western Conference finals. NBA rules forbid teams from contacting players under contract with other teams, but players are allowed to talk to each other whenever they want.
So right now, if Stoudemire is thinking about leaving Phoenix, the advantage goes to Miami.
Chris Bosh is the other option as a high-end big, but remember James lobbied hard for the Cavaliers to acquire Stoudemire at the trade deadline. The two discussed it during All-Star weekend in February. With that in mind, if Stoudemire does test free agency, the Knicks have just enough salary-cap space – albeit barely – to deliver Stoudemire to James in New York.

One benefit of the Celtics [team stats] bench is its emotion. That emotion also can be its downfall, however.
Little wonder that in the process of making the big plays in last night’s 96-89 Game 4 win against the Lakers at the Garden, Nate Robinson and Rasheed Wallace each picked up a technical foul.
It was Wallace’s sixth of the playoffs, and one more means a league-mandated one-game suspension.
“Unfortunately, that’s probably our most emotional group when you have Nate, Rasheed and Tony (Allen) on the floor at the same time,” coach Doc Rivers said. “So the techs happen. That’s the only thing we didn’t like. We have a no-fourth-quarter-tech rule, which was blown out of the water today. But other than that I thought our energy was absolutely terrific.”

Wallace was whistled for a technical after arguing a foul on Kobe Bryant midway through the fourth quarter.
“I hope they rescind (Wallace’s) because I thought he did a dance, but he ran away,” Rivers said. “I didn’t think he said anything. The dance was funny, but I don’t know. I just wish they hadn’t given it to him. It’s a concern, and the Lakers know that.”They were fine” not going back into the game, Rivers said. “They were cheering. This is a good team. This is why we are here. They were cheering, ‘Don’t take them out.’ ”
Robinson, in for a struggling Rajon Rondo, seemed to energize the offense and finished with 12 points, six in the final quarter. His energy was so great that he got hit with a technical when he taunted Lamar Odom. The Lakers missed the free throw.
“Only thing we didn’t like is the no fourth-quarter technical rule,” Rivers said. “And we blew that out of the water.”
Another factor for the Celtics was their dominance on the boards. The Celtics’ edge was 41-34, including a 16-8 advantage in offensive rebounds.”

John Wooden was honored with a moment of silence before Game 2 of the NBA finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics on Sunday.
LOS ANGELES — John Wooden was honored with a moment of silence before Game 2 of the NBA finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics on Sunday.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Bill Walton, two of Wooden’s greatest players at UCLA, took turns speaking publicly for the first time since the 99-year-old Hall of Famer died Friday.
“It’s very difficult for me to put into words the greatness of John Wooden,” Abdul-Jabbar said. “He was so much more than a basketball coach. To have him in my life was a true blessing. I will always be grateful I was able to be one of his students.”
Abdul-Jabbar rushed back from Europe to visit Wooden at his hospital bedside before he died. Wooden’s teams won a record 10 NCAA championships at UCLA, including seven in a row.
The award honors the memory of the late Hall of Fame coach and is presented to someone who has demonstrated a high level of excellence, integrity and commitment to promoting the NBA throughout their careers.
Winter, a former Lakers consultant, helped refine the triangle offense and was instrumental in assisting Lakers coach Phil Jackson win six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls and four with the Lakers.
“His coaching record was impeccable,” Jackson said. “For the first 20 years of basketball that he coached he was one of the top coaches ever in the game.”
Ramsay guided the Portland Trail Blazers to the 1977 NBA championship and retired as the NBA’s second winningest coach of all-time.
2011 ALL-STAR GAME: The NBA All-Star game is returning to Los Angeles next year.
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Hall of Famer James Worthy helped unveil the logo that will be used for All-Star weekend on Feb. 17-20.
The game will be held in Los Angeles for a record fifth time, with the Lakers and Clippers serving as co-hosts.
“We’re looking forward to being back here in Los Angeles for our All-Star weekend or what’s really become a week now,” NBA deputy commissioner Adam Silver said. “It becomes the center of the basketball world for a week.”

Lakers vs. Celtics 2010 Game 1: Lakers Beat Celtics 102-89 – As I write The Lakers and The Celtics are battling out in the 2010 NBA Finals. This might appear unbelievable but this is actually the twelfth time these two teams have reached to the finals together. When you combine the two franchises they have a total of 32 titles which is very impressive to say the least.
Their rivalry is mostly remembered for the heated 2008 Finals, where Doc Rivers’s team won the championship by defeating Phil Jackson’s men in the sixth game, with Paul Pierce being crowned Most Valuable Player.

It’s June again, and by now the script is getting awfully familiar. Kobe Bryant is in another NBA finals, providing the kind of star power the league relies on to make this must-see TV.
LeBron James? He’ll be on TV, too, pouring his heart out to the familiar guy in suspenders.
What? Oprah’s couch was unavailable?
The King on CNN’s “Larry King Live” should draw respectable ratings, too, if only because all of Cleveland will undoubtedly take time off from singing his praises to listen to his pronouncements. They’ll dissect every sentence he utters, rewind the DVR and listen again and again.
Thanks to King’s publicists, we already have a hint of what he will tell the people of Cleveland. It’s not much, just tidbit that might keep their summer from being ruined just as it was starting.
The city, it turns out, isn’t so bad after all, James says: “It’s comfortable. I’ve got a lot of memories here.”
Why those few words carry so much importance, of course, is that come July 1 the player who made Cleveland semi-cool will have a chance to flee for the Big Apple or any other place with an NBA franchise. They’re even more important because, since being unceremoniously ousted from the playoffs, James has said nothing about his future plans.
Not when Cleveland’s elite got together to sing a song imploring him to stay. Not even when Cleveland’s own Iron Chef offered to go to his house once a month and cook a meal for family and friends.
It matters that much in Cleveland. The very soul of a much maligned city seems to be at stake.
This wouldn’t play in LA. Then again, James isn’t playing in Los Angeles this June, either.
Bryant is, however, for the third straight year. That by itself is a remarkable streak, even if you subscribe to the theory that Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom help make up a far better supporting cast than Mo Williams and Shaq.
If the Lakers win this one — and the wise guys in Vegas have made them the favorites — Bryant will wear a fifth championship ring and likely will be part of conversations matching him against Michael Jordan as one of the game’s greatest players. While question marks remain over Bynum’s fitness for the series, Celtics coach Doc Rivers said he was not considering switching rotations or changing his game plan.
“We’re not going to worry about whether he’s healthy or not,” Rivers said. “Players tend to be healthy once the Finals start no matter what their injury status is. We’re viewing him as 100 percent and a factor in the series.”

lakers vs suns game 3

Look, folks, just because the basketball world (or at least the purple, gold, and green parts of it) has turned giddy in anticipation of an L.A. vs. Boston Finals- and Saturday night’s pasting handed to the Magic gets us one step closer- doesn’t mean the work at hand can be totally ignored.
Phoenix remains a dangerous team, particularly at home. So sure, go ahead and guesstimate how many chickens you’ll have once they’ve hatched, but don’t work a firm count quite yet. Game 3 matters. Here are five big questions surrounding the Sunday afternoon’s tilt:
1. So, seriously, does Amare Stoudemire have any pride ?
We’ll find out. No player I can think of has been so widely eviscerated for his play on the defensive side of the ball as Stoudemire has been since Game 1. People are piling on to the point that the piles have piles, and deservedly so. Praised down the stretch for, belated as it may be, attention and improvement to that part of his game, Amare has been a massive impediment to his team’s fortunes in the first two games, failing in the pick-and-roll, in the post, as a help defender, and on the boards. The Suns cannot win unless he improves.
At the very least, I’d be shocked if Stoudemire doesn’t come with more effort in Game 3. He won’t be Dwight Howard, but he can’t possibly again be Curly Howard, can he?
2. Let’s assume Amare steps up a little. Is that enough for the Suns to slow down the Lakers?
Not as such. Phoenix’s problems run deeper. We learned in Game 1 the Suns can’t handle Kobe Bryant in single coverage. We learned in Game 2 they’re not built to throw extra bodies at him or Pau Gasol for that matter either. They don’t rotate and recover particularly well, and given how adeptly the Lakers move the ball — everyone in the starting lineup save Andrew Bynum is an above-average-to-elite-level passer —
double teams become very problematic. For the Lakers to shoot above 57 percent in both Games 1 and 2, scoring 128 and 124 points respectively, despite Alvin Gentry altering his defensive approach from one game to the next is telling. The Lakers are getting too many clean looks (from Phoenix’s perspective), whether in the lane or along the arc.
