Lalit Modi, former chairman of IPL has got 10 days time from passport office to file his answer. Modi was issued with a notice to reply to the Enforcement Directorate otherwise his passport will be seized. His lawyers asked for some time to reply to the case and also take stance that the notice was issued early but was received by them on later dates so more time should be allotted to the.

Modi is out of India due to some threats to his life and his lawyer said that he will be back in India when he feels all right. Notice was issued on October 5 after he failed to appear to the ED to answer allegations of financial irregularities.

Modi has asked passport office to clarify few things including the date issue of notice. After failing to supply the documents required by former IPL chairman they have extended the date for him. Modi Lawyer Abdi said that Modi is Indian and he is not absconding and will be back on right time. ED has also issued blue corner alert for Modi earlier this month. Now he can be detained and by the international law-enforcement agencies wherever they found him and also inform ED.

BCCI And Modi Failed to Reach Compromise

Lalit Modi who is suspended chairman of IPL has filed an appeal in the Supreme Court of India. In the last hearing Supreme Court decided that both parties should compromise out of court. The time given by Supreme Court is over and both parties have not reached a compromise yet. Modi’s Lawyer said that that his client has objection on the formation of the investigation team.

Next hearing is schedule on 11th November. Both parties said that they tried to reach the compromise but not succeeded. Lalit Modi was suspended after IPL 3 and since then he is facing chares of misappropriation in franchises. He rejected the allegations.

He was also issued with a notice of cessation of passport but he is not in India. He was having some security threats so he is residing outside India. In the IPL 3 the allegations against him got strengthen and right after the IPL 3 he was suspended. Now he is contesting the case against BCCI.

MUMBAI: The Bombay high court on Thursday rejected the petition filed by suspended IPL Chairman and Commissioner Lalit Modi seeking reconstitution of the disciplinary committee of BCCI to hear allegations against him relating to irregularities in the conduct of the T20 League.

Modi refuses to resign

MUMBAI: Lalit Modi on Saturday has refused to resign as commissioner Indian Premier League (IPL).

He said he would soon bring out all facts.

According to an Indian TV channel, Modi said that there is a pressure on him to resign but he would not step down.

He said that many fabricated news about him are circulating but he would soon reveal all the facts.

Modi said that what he did in the past four years has been there for all the people.

The IPL commissioner said that let the board remove him but he would not resign himself.

Charges of match-fixing and money-laundering have been labeled on Lalit Modi.

Earlier, Indian media claimed that Modi had agreed to resign.

Meanwhile, co-partners of Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals Shahrukh Khan and Shilpa Shetty have announced to support Modi.

MUMBAI: Chief Administrative Officer of Board of Control for Cricket(BCCI) in India Ratnakar Shetty said BCCI is fully capable of resolving IPL issue.

Talking to media here, BCCI is fully capable to handle the issue. On the other hand, Indian income tax officials probed IPL chief Lalit Modi whereas extremist outfir Shiv Sena has filed a petition in the court stated that entertainment tax should be impose on IPL matches.
