Islamabad: Bangle stalls on the rise ahead of Eid
A large number of females are thronging Eid stalls to buy bangles, which have become an essential part of Eid shopping for females. In Islamabad, bangle stalls are seen mostly in Super Market, Jinnah Super Market, Golden Market, Sitara Market and Gulshan Market.
Shopkeepers at Jinnah Super and Super Market are displaying rich variety of bangles such as Rashmi bangles, metallic bangles, gems-studded bangles, pearled bangles and glittering bangles. In the wake of soaring gold prices, the trend of artificial jewellery is also increasing.
Lahore: demo staged against Karachi violence
LAHORE: A large number of people took to street in Lahore and registered their protest over Karachi bleeding. They also lit candles to express solidarity with the families of those who suffered murders of their loved ones, TrendPK reported Sunday.
People representing NGOs, civil society, and all walks of life participated in a peaceful demonstration occurred at famous Liberty Chowke.
Protestors were carrying banners and placards, with slogans written on them demanding restoration of peace and stern action against terrorists in metropolis.
Later, they lit candles, showing solidarity with the bereaved families of victims who were killed during recent days of bloodbath in the port city. TrendPK
37 cities declared sensitive on Eid Day
Police employees’ leaves have been cancelled as a precautionary measure.
Federal Interior Ministry has issued a letter to the KP home ministry regarding law and order situation. A special security plan has been prepared according to which nine cities including Peshawar have been declared most sensitive where heavy contingent of police would be deployed.
Moreover, offering off Eid prayer in open sites would be banned while a large number of security force would be deployed outside the Eid Gahs.
Pakistani expats brace for rioters

There are one million Pakistanis living in England and a large number of them are running their own small and large businesses.
During the ongoing riots and looting in various cites of England, the rioters had also damaged the properties of Pakistani expats.
Pakistanis get united to defend their properties and formed groups which are carrying batons to resist the robbers.
Pakistani origin people say that they cannot watch destruction of their businesses which they had established after toiling hard.
They said that the police had also asked them to defend their properties.
They said that the rioters would have to face strong resistance, if they entered in their area.
10 fishermen released from Indian jails
They said that they were misbehaved in Indian jails. A large number of fishermen are still in the captivity of India. Most of them have become psyche cases, they added.
They have appealed the government and human rights organisations to get the languishing prisoners released from cruel clutches of Indian brutal forces.
It is worth mentioning that these fishermen erroneously crossed the Indian jurisdiction in the sea and were arrested by Indian forces in 2008.

According to sources, there were around 5 blasts which were followed by gunshots. Later, smoke clouds and huge flames could be seen on the site.
Law enforcement agencies and rescue teams have rushed to the site. There are no reports of casualties yet. State of emergency has been declared in all the hospitals in Karachi.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is staging a sit-in in Karachi at Netty Jetty Bridge. A large number of PTI workers along with PTI Chief Imran Khan are participating in the sit-in against the US drone attacks in the tribal areas of Pakistan.

Pakistan team flies to UAE for South Africa series

LAHORE: The national cricket team today left for UAE where it is to play two Tests, five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and two Twenty20 matches against South Africa during a month-long tour.
Out of the two, one T20 match will be played to raise funds for the flood victims of Pakistan. The floods killed more than 1,600 people and left more than four million homeless.
A large number of cricket fans were present at Lahore airport to see the team off amid cheers.
Speaking to newsmen, Manager Intikhab Alam said Pakistan is mentally and physically prepared to take on the formidable Proteas.

IT raid in Sajid Nadiadwala’s office

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala’s Anjaani Anjaani is not as big a success as Arbaaz Khan’s Dabangg. And yet after Arbaaz’s office a few days ago, it was Sajid Nadiadwala’s office on Yari Road which was raided by income tax officials on Thursday afternoon at around 3 pm.
A large number of IT officials swooped down on Nadiadwala’s office to check his accounts and records.
The producer whose last three films have been the flop Kambakkht Ishq, the super hit Housefull and the moderately successful Anjaana Anjaani sounded quite relaxed.
“It’s just a routine inspection. The IT people are here in my office checking my records. I am with them. I guess getting a visit from income-tax officials is one way of knowing how much a filmmaker matters,” joked Sajid, showing no outward signs of stress.
World Teachers Day marked in Islamabad
