Karzai admits holding talks with Taliban

KABUL: Afghan President Hamid Karzai confirmed in a US television interview that his administration has been holding unofficial talks with the Taliban “for quite some time” to try to end the nine-year war.
“We have been talking to the Taliban as countryman to countryman, talk in that manner,” Karzai told CNN’s Larry King when asked about a Washington Post report on secret high-level talks between the two sides.
“Not as a regular official contact with the Taliban with a fixed address but rather unofficial personal contacts have been going on for quite some time,” he said in excerpts of the CNN interview to air in full Monday.
Last week the Washington Post said the secret talks were believed to involve the Afghan government and representatives authorised by the Quetta Shura, the Afghan Taliban group based in Pakistan, and Taliban leader Mullah Omar.

Lady Gaga “Borderline Positive” for Lupus(CBS) A subdued Lady Gaga confirmed for CNN’s Larry King Tuesday night that Lupus runs in her family, and she’s tested “borderline positive” for it.
During the rare television interview, the usually boisterous, provocative and outrageous singer – one of the world’s most popular and considered by many to be the leading lady of pop — addressed Internet rumors that she has the autoimmune disease.

She told King, “Lupus is in my family and it is genetic. My mother told me the other day that my fans were quite worried about me because I did talk about how I was tested for Lupus.
“And ah, the truth is, I don’t show any signs, ah, any symptoms of Lupus. But I have tested borderline positive for the disease. So, as of right now, I do not have it, but I have to take good care of myself.”
It’s believed Lupus is hereditary and is what killed Gaga’s aunt in 1976, reports CBS News Correspondent Elaine Quijano.
Lupus affects roughly one-and-a-half million Americans, mostly women. It causes the body’s immune system to become hyperactive and attack normal, healthy tissue.
Gaga’s flamboyant look and string of hit singles have her career on fire. Her 2008 album “The Fame” earned her two Grammys. And the video for “Bad Romance” is the most-watched clip ever on YouTube.

On this day the news that Larry King’s record of eight with her husband, and she wants to own a snake to her maintenance payments Shawn King filed divorce papers too.
An hour ago, gave celebrity gossip-dogs of TMZ us just that. Reading that Larry King has filed for divorce from Shawn Southwick, his wife of almost thirteen years is about as famous as wrapping yourself in your favorite blanket and eat chicken soup your mother made.
She asks the King to pay for legal fees and that he gives her spouse contributions. This will be the eighth king divorce. A spokesman for King said his estranged wife filed her divorce papers five minutes after he delivered her.

The National Enquirer is reporting that Shawn Southwick, the mother of two of King’s children, has been having an affair with 29-year-old actor Hector Penate for over a year now. (Note he is also their son’s baseball coach) Larry King has reportedly been made aware of this, and he is absolutely furious, and upset. He cannot believe that it has gone on for a whole year. It was said Shawn Southwick and Hector Penate even had sex Larry King’s desk while he was not at home.
Their illicit affair began to unravel when Shawn’ dependence on the powerful painkiller Vicodin deepened but it didn’t end until a livid Larry confronted Penate, sources divulged.
