Five Wounded in Shoe Factory Collapse

LAHORE: Five persons sustained injuries as the roof of a shoe making factory, they were working under, collapsed here on Wednesday but no causality was reported in the incident.

According to sources, the factory workers were working under the roof of a shoe factory when, due to weakness, the roof of the factory collapsed, trampling them under its debris but thankfully no loss of life was reported in the incident.

Injured workers were admitted to local hospital for medical attainment, sources added.

Lawyers Again Torture Journalists

LAHORE: Lawyers in Lahore High Court (LHC) once again tortured journalists and tried to expel them from court’s premises.

A bench comprised of Chief Justice LHC Justice Khawaja Sharif and Justice Ijaz conducting hearing of suo moto case of torture on journalists and police by lawyers. Large number of lawyers were already present in the court that created rumpus before start of hearing. They chanted slogans against Chief Justice Khawaja Sharif, journalists and police.

The lawyers tortured private TV channel’s reporter and cameraman present in the court for the coverage of the hearing.

Later, they reached Bar and harassed other media teams and tried to expel them from the court. The cameras and vehicles also damaged.

PPP, MQM Core Committee Meeting Today

According to an official handout issued from the Governor’s House, it was decided that all issues would be resolved and the process of mutual consultation would continue.

In a meeting held on Wednesday both the Governor and Chief Minister have urged upon the committee members to resolve all issues with mutual consultation and in a manner to which the reconciliation process could further be strengthened. Both the parties also discussed regarding the steps that were to be taken for ensuring availability of daily food items and price control as Ramzan approaches.
