MULTAN: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said he is hopeful that Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman will soon be a part of the government.
While speaking with newsmen at Multan airport, he said that politics never have a smooth road; they have their ups and downs.

Petroleum products’ prices expected to rise

KARACHI: Due to a rise in the prices of crude oil in the global market, the prices of petroleum products are also expected to increase by Rs 1.5 per liter on Tuesday.
The oil prices have risen by up to $2 per barrel due to which petrol and diesel prices are also expected to increase by Rs. 1 and Rs. 1.5 per liter respectively.
Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) officials will announce the price raise today which will be implemented from September.
Earlier OGRA increased the price of diesel from Rs. 71.85 to 73.03 per liter that showed an increase of Rs. 1.45. At the same time, price of petrol was reduced by 21 paisas per liter and it was then sold at Rs. 67.74 per liter, instead of earlier Rs. 67.95. SAMAA

MURIDKE: A poverty-stricken man shot dead his wife and three children in Muridke early Tuesday morning, police said.
The ill-fated incident took place in Pindi Ratan Singh village, located in the outskirts of Muridke.
Police said that a man named Mahmood first shot fire at his wife, Salma, before turning to his two daughters and a son.
Police reached the scene and recovered the dead bodies. However, the accused managed to escape.
Meanwhile, Mahmood’s neighbors told police that the accused used to quarrel with his slain wife due to poverty. SAMAA
