Malik says ready to brief Senate on Balochistan package

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik says he is ready to brief the House over progress made so far regarding implementation of Aghaz-e-Haqooq Balochistan package.
Speaking at Senate today (Friday), Malik accused foreign interference of creating unrest in Balochistan.
Many countries of the world don’t want Balochistan to be part of Pakistan, he said.
He said neither army nor paramilitary frontier corps are deteriorating law and order situation
Any third power is behind the unrest, he added.
He said that 85 percent implementation has been made on Aghaz-e-Haqooq Balochistan package.
He said no airbase would be allowed to be used for NATO supplies. TrendPK
FIA arrests man using Malik SIM

KARACHI: Man using SIM issued in the name of Federal Interior Minister Rehman A. Malik has been arrested late yesterday night from the metrpolis, TrendPK reports Saturday.
According to sources, Cyber Crime Wing of Karachi Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) overnight arrested Javed Noor, controller of Citizen-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and commenced investigations after registering a case against him.
The sources said the federal minister Malik earlier directed to take action against the group involved in getting SIMs issued in the name of important personalities. Moving on his direction, the FIA team arrested CPLC Controller Javed Noor and he is being interrogated currently.
The sources told the CPLC was given access to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for the elimination of terrorism in Karachi, so that timely action could be launched against the terrorists. TrendPK

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Rehman A. Malik Friday said there is no foreign secret agent in any part of the country, adding any such agent will not be allowed to carry on his clandestine activities.
Talking to media outside the Parliament here, he said the eavesdropping is not carried out by the government’s consent, adding the secret services including Intelligence Bureau are responsible to check such anti-state activities.
Malik informed the reporters a call was received last night from Pak embassy in London, which has been directed to expedite visa issuance to American-Pakistani Businessman Mansoor Ijaz.
Reacting to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif’s demand of early elections, the federal minister noted the PML-N leader has always been demanding early elections; but, the government will go the full length of its stipulated term. TrendPK
Musharraf to be arrested as he arrives in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will arrest former military ruler Pervez Musharraf if he returns home as announced at the end of the month, the interior minister said Wednesday.
“I assure this house that if he lands in Pakistan he will be arrested because he is a PO (proclaimed offender),” Rehman Malik told the upper house of parliament. AGENCIES
Shoaib Malik Back Shahid Afridi As Captain
Former Pakistan captain and all-rounder Shoaib Malik said that PCB should not change the captain for the national team for the world cup. He said that Shahid Afridi is doing well for Pakistan and he will able to lead the team in the world cup 2011. Malik is recently named as captain of Punjab team and he also supports Shahid Afridi as a captain for Pakistan team.
Now a day there is race for captaincy between Shahid Afridi and Misbah Ul Haq as PCB has named the national team for the world cup but so far the name of the captain is still not announced.
PCB decided to name the captain for the world cup 2011 after the New Zealand’s ODI series. Misbah has leaded the team well in the world cup and now he is also performing well in ODI’s. Shahid Afridi who was not in form has now came back in form as he scored quick 65 runs in 25 balls in last match.
Both Afridi and Misbah is doing well for Pakistan and now PCB has to decide about the captain. Shoaib Malik is of view that by changing the captain there will be disturbance in the team. he favors Afridi as captain.
No Single Party Can Resolve Problems Alone: Malik

Talking to media-men outside the governor house Karachi, Rehman Malik said that we all are Muslims and no changes would be made in Blasphemy Law. He said that he will soon meet religious scholars in this regard and take them into confidence.
Rehman Malik said that difference of opinion is a beauty of democracy, adding that Nawaz Sharif had given positive signal.
Malik said the friendship between PPP and MQM played a vital role in politics. He said Altaf Hussain’s statement and PM’s visit to Nine Zero had changed the whole political situation.
Shoaib Malik Sued For Illegal Assets
Former Pakistani captain Shoaib Malik is sued for having illegal property. According to information he was not selected in world cup preliminary squad as he was not cleared from PCB integrity committee. He was asked to provide details of his assets along with Kamran Akmal and Danish Kaneria.
Kamran Akmal was cleared by integrity committee but Malik was not cleared by the committee. He is also facing allegation that he had made millions of Rupees by fixing. Ishtiaq Chaudhry has filed a law suit against Malik that he has made millions by destroying county’s image. Petition has been filed in session court.
In a petition it is stated that Malik is not selected in team as he had many charges against him and not get clearance as he was found involve in match fixing. In a petition it is also asked to freeze his accounts in Pakistan and outside Pakistan and also want court to direct police to file criminal case against him.
Malik was banned after Australian series last year but after the investigations by his friend Abdul Qadir son of PM of Pakistan, he was cleared. Judge of court has directed police chief to appear before court in 14th January. Malik was not able to provide detail of 90,000 pounds in his British bank account.
SC moved for disqualification of Rehman Malik
ISLAMABAD: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court on Friday for disqualification of Interior Minister Senator Rehman Malik over wrong recitation of the Holy Quran (Surah Ikhlas), TrendPK.com News reported.
Tariq Asad Advocate contended in his plea that Senator Rehman Malik wrongly recited Surah Ikhlas three times during the cabinet meeting.
He asserted that Malik did not qualify for the senate seat, as he has no knowledge of the basic teachings of Islam, therefore, he should be disqualified under article 62 and 63 of the constitution.

Rehman Malik Orders FIA to nab 8 Wapda officers

ISLAMABAD, trendpk: Federal Interior Minister Rehman A Malik took notice of alleged corruption worth millions of rupees in Wapda.
According to a statement issued here, the federal minister ordered Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to arrest the eight officers of Wapda involved in the scam.
He also directed the officials to submit within 24 hours a report comprising investigations against the corrupt officers regarding their alleged corruption.
