Film actress Esha Deol is engaged

MUMBAI: Hema Malini and Dharmendra’s eldest daughter actress Esha Deol got engaged to her businessman beau Bharat Takhtat at a private ceremony took place this morning at Hema’s Juhu bungalow. The function was attended by relatives and close friends. Only Jaya Bachchan was one of the prominent faces from Bollywood seen at the do.
“We are very happy today for Esha and Bharat. It is a happy moment for all of us. Bharat is a very nice person. It is a private function,” Hema, 63, told reporters here.
An ecstatic Esha, 29, said, “I am happy and I thank everyone for their blessings.”
The ‘Dhoom’ star was dressed in a pink sari with green embellishments, teamed with minimalist jewellery. Her beau Takhtani donned a white shirt, white jacket and a pair of black trousers.
When asked about the marriage dates, Hema said, “It will happen soon and we will make an announcement. AGENCIES
Woman among 4 killed in Karachi violence
According to police, a 35-year-old woman was killed when some unidentified persons opened fire on a car in Korangi Industrial area. The family was returning home after attending a marriage ceremony in Landhi area. Meanwhile, police said it was result of resistance against robbery attempt.
Police have also recovered a tortured dead body of an unidentified man from Lines area.
In Nagan Chorangi, some unidentified persons shot dead two people while a man was injured in a firing incident in Qayumabad area.
Russell Brand apparently not interested in Katy Perry’s money
TrendPK.com: Russell Brand and Katy Perry apparently didn’t have a prenuptial agreement when they got married, which could result in messy money matters, but it seems that won’t be the case here.
Brand could reportedly get about $20 million in the divorce, but allegedly isn’t interested in taking any of her earnings, states TMZ. The split is allegedly amicable which is why he will reportedly pass on taking any money.
Community asset laws would give him 50% of her earnings which were reportedly over $44 million around the time they married.

Jennifer Lopez talks being unsure of marriage in future
TrendPK.com: Jennifer Lopez split with husband Marc Anthony last year, and while she is reportedly dating Casper Smart, she doesn’t yet know if another marriage is in her future.
Lopez recently opened up to the ‘Today’ show that things are still too new to decide what she wants down the road, states UsMagazine.com. “I don’t know. We’ll see. I mean, I don’t know. It’s not time to think about that yet. It’s still fresh,” Lopez said when asked if she will marry again.
But one thing is for sure for the singer and actress, she plans to maintain her relationship with Anthony: “We were friends for years, and we always loved each other. And, obviously, we have children together, so it’s not going to be like he’s not in my life. He’s always going to be in my life.”

MQM will not allow anybody to divide Sindh : Altaf
Addressing a public gathering in Sukkur, Muthidda Qaumi Movement Chief Altaf Hussain said that today s rally is a challenge for the people who want to make Pakistan their personal asset.
Altaf said that today s rally is a referendum for those who have intentions to divide Sindh. He said that the MQM is real guarantor of progress and prosperity in Sindh.
He said that if Sindhi people refuse to pay 70% of revenue, how it would be possible to run the country.
He said that actual revolution is to change the status quo of feudal, looters and plunderers who have been exploited the wretched of earth for centuries in the name of so-called norms and values.
He said that today’s public gathering is a referendum against hatching conspiracies for partition of Sindh. He said all the people belonging to any community should embrace each other to shun away antipathies.
While referring to Quaid e Azam address after creation of Pakistan, Altaf said that everybody is free to follow his own religion in accordance with his norms and rituals.
He said that outdated and degenerated rituals and customs like karo-kari and marriage with the Holy Quran should be exterminated on priority basis.
The government should announce comprehensive water project for the people of Sukkur, he said.
Apart from this, he said that separate colleges for boys and girls should be established in the city, adding that a special university should also be formed for higher education of local people.
Highlighting railway system, he said that it should be renovated for better service.
He said that special attention should be focussed on journalist community in the city and Sukkur Press Club should be granted Rs one million so that it may be consolidated.
While expressing his condolence over killings of lawyers, he said that it is conspiracy to ignite clash between Shia and Sunnis.
He appealed to the government to provide special protection to lawyers who fight for rule of law and establishment of justice.
Criticising the PML-N, he said that public should be provided special protection from mafia which is selling fake and substandard medicines for their vested interests.
Commenting law and order situation in Balochistan, he said that law and order should be restored in the war-torn areas of the province.
Likewise, Fata people should be taken into confidence while taking decisions about their future, avoiding use of power.
Referring a mystic Sufi Latif Bhatai, he said that success can be achieved only by dint of hardships.
Katherine Heigl talks making marriage work no matter what
TrendPK.com: Katherine Heigl has been open about her marriage with Josh Kelley, and even made the comment that she would probably forgive him if he made the mistake of cheating once.
Now, she is talking about continuing to make her marriage last despite the differences and occasional fights, states UsMagazine.com. “We’ve had some pretty explosive fights over the years trying to make our marriage work, but it’s been worth it,” Heigl commented, adding that she doesn’t want to be without him in her life.
The two have one adopted daughter together.

Sundance: Is “Beasts of the Southern Wild” the film to beat?

TrendPK.com: The Sundance Film Festival officially is underway, with a full slate of press and public screenings opening the doors to a flood of fresh news spilling out of Park City. Let’s do what we can to keep up with the latest happenings in the cold and snowy film capital:
- Bold statements already are being made about “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” a surreal father-daughter drama that premiered Friday. Matt Patches, movie editor at Hollywood.com, claims on Twitter that although it’s only day two, “Beasts” is the film to beat.
- eFilmCritic’s Erik Childress wasn’t nearly as impressed with the opening night film, “Wish You Were Here.” While the film, which stars Joel Edgerton, picked up a few supporters, Childress zinged, “WISH YOU WERE HERE? Wish I had left. Another film sucks on the festival circuit. Big surprise.”
- Audiences got a look at “The Raid,” the action hit that took the Toronto International Film Festival by storm. Devin Faraci seemed to capture the mood when he tweeted, “The Raid is an action masterpiece. Believe the hype.”
- And finally, the documentary “Searching for Sugar Man,” which tells the story of musician Sixto Rodriquez, is getting a lot of positive buzz. Many referred to it as a frontrunner to win the fest’s audience prize, while Sharon Waxman of The Wrap simply stated, “Someone buy this fast.”
UPDATE: Sony Pictures Classics listened. They picked up the rights to “Sugar Man,” according to THR.

‘Jersey Shore’ celebrates Pauly D’s birthday, not “The Situation”

On the most recent episode, the cast goes all out to celebrate Pauly D’s birthday while ignoring “The Situation’s” birthday that is right around the same time, states RadarOnline.com. And the resident bad guy took notice and apparently didn’t feel too good about it.
“We celebrated Pauly’s birthday over and over again, maybe I’m just jealous,” “The Situation” commented.

Bethenny Frankel opens up about struggles in her marriage
TrendPK.com: Bethenny Frankel’s reality TV show is coming back to TV on February 20th, and it seems this season will be showing some of the more difficult aspects of her life.
Frankel recently revealed that fans will see the struggles she faces in her marriage as the dust clears after quickly getting married and having a baby, states RadarOnline.com. “I got pregnant. I got married eight months pregnant, and now I sold my business or part of my business. We’re just settling into what married life really is without the excitement of a wedding and the baby,” Frankel said about what to expect this season.
And even though they are ready to get through everything together, there are definitely struggles in their marriage: “We come from totally different backgrounds … I’m in therapy. I’ve always been good at business, but I’ve always struggled with relationships based on my background.”

It’s Celebrity Engagement Season!

It seems to be celebrity engagement season at the moment; Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman are the latest couple to announce their intention to tie the knot. Reportedly Kopelman popped question around the holidays during a trip to Idaho, this will be Barrymore’s third marriage.
Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have been reported to have recently gotten engaged after four years together. They briefly broke up last year but they were back together again after a couple of months. Their reps are yet to either confirm or deny the rumors.
Mario Lopez has finally proposed to girlfriend Courtney Mazza, the Saved by the Bell Star proposed over New Year’s weekend in Ixtapa, Mexico. The couple got together in 2008 and they have a two year old daughter together.
One of the more surprising announcements of late comes from Steven Tyler and his now fiance, Erin Brady. The Aerosmith frontman is taking the plunge for the third time, although if reports are to be believed, not all of Tyler’s family is particularly happy about their union.
