Pakistan, China agree to enhance pace of power project
While talking to state run TV channel, Masood Khan said that a meeting under joint energy mechanism would be held soon in China. He said that the agreement was made during Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s visit to China. He stated that Three Gorges firm, which has constructed world’s largest dam, would start work in Pakistan, adding that more than 12 firms would invest in construction of small and large dams.
Timergarah blast kills 15: hospital sources
TIMERGARAH: At least 15 people were killed and various others injured when a suspected suicide bomber blew himself up on Monday here at a meeting under the aegis of Awami National Party (ANP), Geo News quoted hospital sources say Monday.
“At least 15 bodies and more than 50 wounded have been brought in,” Wakil Mohammad, medical superintendent at the main hospital in Timergarah, the main town in the Lower Dir district where the attack took place, said by telephone.
President Zardari Ready to Extradite key Powers: PM Gilani
Pakistan: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday said that President Zardari had offered him the authority to appoint services chiefs and abolishing the assemblies. Gilani said he did not intend to exercise powers under 58-2(b). PM maintained that the military offensive in South Waziristan would end soon.
Addressing the Jirga in IDPs camp in Dera Ismail Khan, Prime Minister said Mehsud tribes’ sacrifices were well known but Uzbek, Arab, Afghan and Chechen militants had penetrated in tribal areas. “These militants are defaming Pakistan and Tribesmen.” He expressed grief over the fact that Mehsud tribesmen had to leave their homes in this modern era. Gilani urged Mehsud tribe to throw out black sheep working on foreign agenda from their area.
Earlier, addressing a press conference in Ratta Kolachi camp, the Prime Minister said that the displaced persons of South Waziristan would soon be returned back to their homes and IDPs were sacrificing everything for the better future of Pakistan. He said that losses incurred by the Operation Rah-e-Nijat would be compensated soon.

Zilhaj Moon Not Sighted in NWFP
Peshawar, Pakistan: Differing with Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, the zonal committee of NWFP and local Ulema held a meeting in Peshawar. The meeting announced that Zilhaj moon was not sighted so Eid al-Adha will be celebrated on Saturday, November 28 across the province.
The local Ulema held a meeting under the chairmanship of Maulana Khair-ul-Bashar in historical mosque Masjid Qasim Ali Khan on Tuesday, whereas, Provincial Ruet-e-Hilal Ccommittee met in Auqaf Plaza. Both the meetings did not receive any testimony of moon sighting from any district of the province. The Zonal committee will meet again for moon sighting on Wednesday.
On the other hand, after the meeting in Masjid Qasim Ali Khan, Maulana Khair-ul-Bashar announced that the Ulema had decided to complete 30 days of Zeqaad. Therefore, first Zilhaj will be on Thursday Nov 19 and Eid al-Adha will be celebrated on Nov 28.
