Sindh ministers stopped outside Quaid’s mausoleum

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Saturday ordered an inquiry into alleged highhandedness of security personnel with some members of his cabinet at the gate of Quaide-e-Azam mausoleum.

According to media reports, some provincial ministers had to face an embarrassing situation after they were not allowed by security guards to enter the mausoleum for about 15 minutes over security reasons.

Although the ministers produced their identity cards, however, adamant security staff refused to give any concession.

Taking notice of the incident, Chief Minister Shah asked Karachi police chief to submit a report. TrendPK

KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday expressed dissatisfaction over the performances of a few ministers of Sindh cabinet.

President Zardari also instructed ministers to be ready for local body elections expected after next six months.

He also expressed his annoyance when one of the ministers, during the meeting, used his cellular phone.

President Zardari also directed Sindh cabinet to take proper measures against spreading dengue fever in the province.

Prime Ministers advisor on IT Latif Khosa has tendered his resignation. Whereas, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has accepted his resignation. Cabinet Division has issued notification of the resignation. Dunya News has received a copy of the notification which states that on the directive of the PM, Latif Khosa has tendered his resignation. According to sources, it is expected that he will appear as government counsel in the NRO review case before the Supreme Court instead of Kamal Azfar.

Resignations show change is imminent, says Mushahid

More embarrassing for India, England asks PM’s car be checked

India faces more embarrassment as Englishmen have asked for Prime Minister Manmohan Sing and other ministers cars to be checked as they enter the Commonwealth Games venues.
England’s Chef de Mission said in a request that they had seen VVIPs car enter without any security checks and demanded that all cars, including that of the PM and Union Ministers should be checked as they enter any stadium.
This request has however, been denied by India. Indian side said that such a proposal can’t be entertained. Indian minister and ICC president, Sharad Powar said that incomplete and imperfect management of the event has given the world a chance to lout at us. CWG Federation chief, Michael Fennell himself is not satisfied with the security measurements. He said that hes worried of the security of players as well as authorities.
Its being said that if athletes get lucky to survive any mishap, they still wont be lucky enough to survive dengue virus.

Zardari asks ministers to tolerate Punjab government

President Asif Ali Zardari has directed PPPs Punjab ministers to tolerate Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif for the sake of country. He also asked to support Nawaz Sharif to stop him looking towards non-political forces.
In a meeting with PPP Punjab ministers in the Presidency, the President said, PPP is ready to face any challenge, we have restored democracy and we will defend it too and the government will complete five years.
The ministers complained the President about not taking into confidence over government matters in Punjab, on which the President said that these things have to be tolerated for the good of the country. He said that PPP will not do anything to fall the government of Punjab and will remain part of the Cabinet. He directed the ministers to pass most of the time in flood-hit areas. He said that Diesel Cards would be issued to provide cheap diesel to farmers and electricity bills of the affectees would also be waived.

President vows that all conspiracies against democracy would be thwarted. He asks Ministers not to be deterred by the negative propaganda against the government.
President Asif ali Zardai co-chaired a meeting of the federal cabinet along with Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani at Presidency late on Friday.
Participants of the meeting reposed full confidence in the leadership of Pakistan Peoples Party Co-Chairman President Zardari and PM Gilani. They also resolved that democracy and the constitutional amendments adopted by parliament would be defended and protected at all cost.
President urged the ministers to strive for strengthening the country economically. He said once we are strong economically, we will be able to tackle all the challenges. The meeting reviewed in depth the progress made by the government, the challenges faced by it and the way forward and resolved to continue making strides to strengthen democracy and address the problems faced by the people.
Presidents spokesperson, Farthatullah Babar, later told media that during the four-hour meeting, participants expressed their views candidly on all political, economic and security issues. He said the meeting has also resolved that democracy, parliament and the unanimous constitutional amendments adopted by parliament will be defended and protected at all cost.

GB mourns Governor Shama Khalid death

GILGIT BALTISTAN: An official holiday is being observed on Thursday in Gilgit Baltistan and all the educational institutions are closed as the people are mourning the death of Governor Dr. Shama Khalid.

Gilgit-Baltistan Governor Dr. Shama Khalid died of cancer in Islamabad on Wednesday. She was 60.

All the government and educational institutions are closed in mourning and flags at all government buildings statewide are flown at half-mast.

Dr. Shama Khalid will be buried besides his husband in Abottabad at 4:00 p.m.

Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah and all the ministers will attend the burial.

Dr. Shama was the first female governor of the province. She was sworn in on March 23, 2010.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani have expressed grief at the demise of Dr.

c03b215f103 die Quetta: Blast Rocked Balochistan Finance Ministers house; 3 deadNews Trends: A blast ripped through the house of Balochistans Finance Minister Asim Kurd residence in Quetta which killed three people and injured two others.
According to SP Sariab the bomb was planted in a car parked inside the ministers house. The minister, however, remained unscathed in the attack.
The house caught fire in the wake of the blast while windowpanes of the nearby buildings shattered due to the intensity of the blast.
Law enforcement agencies threw cordon around the area. Rescue teams rushed the site and kicked off the rescue efforts.
