Harvard hoax Hot Searches In Usa

Hollywood Usa News Up Date A reader emailed me shortly after my piece on happiness appeared here the other day. She wrote to say a) she loved the piece, and b) she’d been talking to friends about the topic, and telling them that there is a class on happiness taught at Harvard. Indeed, it’s the most popular class on that august Cambridge campus,
Well, so, some of the folks she was talking to — a couple of them apparently are academics in similiarly august institutions — were a bit, shall we say, skeptical of my friend’s news. So she wrote to me asking if I could send her any additional information.

brett favre 391x213 20100201b adam carrikerThe 2010 NFL regular season schedule will come out later today, but we already know which game will kick off the season: The New Orleans Saints will play host to the Minnesota Vikings.
This should be a great kickoff to the season, pitting last year’s NFC Championship Game opponents against each other. Now the big question moving forward will be whether or not good ole’ Brett Favre will be the Vikings starting quarterback in that game.
The aggressive J-E-T-S… The New York Jets are enjoying an uncapped year, and they added yet another piece to the puzzle today by landing Miami Dolphins outside linebacker/defensive end Jason Taylor to a two-year deal.
Jets head coach Rex Ryan thinks Taylor can record 15 sacks in the Jets’ system, and getting to the quarterback is something Ryan wants the team to do a lot more of. It’ll be interesting to see how much Taylor, who has 10 sacks in the last two years combined, has left in the tank.
The tough Jets’ defense continues to look better and better on paper, and I’m sure many fantasy football participants will be looking at taking them as the No. 1 fantasy defense this year.
Thinking NFL Draft… The St. Louis Rams traded defensive tackle Adam Carriker to the Washington Redskins today. Carriker has been a bust so far during his short career, but this move could pave the way for two other scenarios:
1. The Redskins may be more inclined to unload the large deal defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was signed to a year ago.
2. The Rams may go in a different direction than quarterback at the No. 1 spot in this week’s NFL Draft. Could we see them snag either Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh or Oklahoma defensive tackle Gerald McCoy?
For the first time in many years, the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft is very much a mystery in the days leading up to the kickoff.

UConn’s Charles taken No. 1 in WNBA draft
 wnba draft
SECAUCUS, N.J. — It’s been an unforgettable 48 hours for Tina Charles.

Less than two days after helping UConn win its second straight national championship, she was selected first by the Connecticut Sun in the WNBA draft.

“It’s unbelievable, my heart is still pounding out of my chest,” Charles said. “I’m more interested what impact I’ll have on the team more than just being the No. 1 pick.”

Charles averaged more than 18 points and nine rebounds while leading UConn to an NCAA Division I-record 78 straight victories over the past two seasons.

The Sun traded with the Minnesota Lynx in the offseason to get The Associated Press player of the year, who joined Sue Bird (2002) and Diana Taurasi (2004) as the only UConn players taken with the top overall pick.

The Sun also acquired Charles’ former UConn teammate, Renee Montgomery, in exchange for Monica Wright, the second pick in the draft, and former University of Minnesota star Lindsay Whalen. The Lynx then took Nebraska’s Kelsey Griffin with the third pick. Wright and Griffin got to know each other as they roomed at both the Final Four and the WNBA draft.

Chicago drafted former Rutgers guard Epiphanny Prince with the fourth pick. She was unable to attend the draft because she was playing in Turkey for Botas-Spor. Prince left Rutgers after her junior year to pursue a playing career overseas. Her mom and dad were on hand at the draft.

Jayne Appel, who guided Stanford to three straight Final Fours and the national title game this season, was taken fifth by San Antonio. She’s recovering from a sprained ankle and stress fracture on an outer bone of her right foot, and was wearing a protective boot.

Washington drafted Florida State’s Jacinta Monroe with the sixth pick.

Kansas forward Danielle McCray was taken by Connecticut with the seventh pick. She tore her ACL late in the season and won’t be able to play until August.

Oklahoma State star Andrea Riley went eighth to Los Angeles. Rounding out the first round, it was: Mississippi State’s Chanel Mokango to Atlanta at No. 9; Iowa State’s Alison Lacey to Seattle at No. 10; San Diego State’s Jene Morris to Indiana at No. 11; and Mississippi’s Bianca Thomas to Los Angeles at No. 12.

Teams will open training camp April 25, exhibition games begin April 30 and the league’s 14th season will start May 15.

There are details to be worked out on the contract, but Hudson has chosen the Twins over the Indians and Nationals.

Hudson, 32, batted .283 for the Dodgers last season, with 50 extra-base hits and 62 walks in 149 games, and won the NL Gold Glove Award for second basemen. The Twins began to focus on Hudson at the end of last week, at a time when they had questions at second and third base. Hudson presumably has a chance to be slotted into the No. 2 spot in the Minnesota lineup, and hit in front of Joe Mauer and Justin Morneau.

Vikings Vs Saints Score

7b55e8d258score Vikings Vs Saints ScoreVikings Vs Saints Score, Drew Brees helped the New Orleans Saints score the most points in the NFL before leading his team to a convincing 31-point win in the playoffs.

Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings produced the league’s second-highest point total before he guided his team to its own 31-point postseason victory.

The quarterbacks meet Sunday in a marquee NFC championship matchup at the Superdome – where Favre won his lone Super Bowl title 13 years ago.

New Orleans started 13-0 and used Brees’ NFL-leading 34 touchdowns to earn the top seed in the NFC for the first time. The Saints (14-3) have never been to the Super Bowl and made their lone NFC championship appearance three years ago in a loss at Chicago.

Brees threw for three touchdowns and 247 yards last Saturday in a 45-14 win over Arizona that seemed to erase the sting of a season-ending three-game skid.

“We all see the team that won 13 games in a row, not the team that struggled against the Cowboys and let one get away from us against Tampa,” Brees said.

Brees’ impressive season seems to have been overshadowed by Favre, who finished with 33 touchdowns after opting to come out of retirement and join Minnesota (13-4). The 40-year-old seemed to be fading down the stretch as the Vikings lost three of five, much as he did last season with the Jets.
