Tally in Shikarpur tribal clashes mount to 19
SHIKARPUR: The latest death toll, in armed clashes by tribesmen in Shikarpur over a land dispute, has mounted to 19 while scores others are injured, Geo news reported on Friday morning.
Earlier on Thursday, at least 15 persons were killed while scores other sustained injuries when armed men, from Magsi and Qumbrani clans, clashed over a land distribution row here in Shikarpur on late Thursday night.
According to police source, the exchange of fire, started on late Thursday, is still underway in the area with little recesses.
Contingents from Pakistan Rangers have arrived on the crime site to bring the situation under control, DPO Shikarpur Faiz Ahmed told Geo news.
Meanwhile, DIG Larkana Sanaullah Abbasi said heavy police parties have also been called in from Larkana and Jacobabad to assist rangers’ in maintaining the law and order situation.
It may be mentioned that the clashes, on the issue of land distribution between two clans, started some days ago, which turned violent by late Thursday.
11 militants killed in Orakzai blitz
PESHAWAR: Eleven more militants have been killed, including a key Taliban commander, whereas scores others sustained injuries, when security forces pounded terrorists’ hideouts located in Orakzai Agency on Friday morning, Geo news reported.
Meanwhile, six sanctuaries were also completely shattered during clashes, official sources claimed.
According to sources, security force launched attack on hideouts of militants, backed by gunship helicopters, pounding a total of six sanctuaries and resulting in killing of 11 more insurgents and injuring many others.
A key Taliban commander, Wasi-ur-Rehman, was also among those killed during fierce blitz, sources maintained.
It may be mentioned that security forces are in progress of fierce military operation against insurgents in Orakzai Agency for last three months, which has, in turn, killed more than 1500 terrorists besides, shattering over 170 sanctuaries.

Security forces bombarded Marghabi area in Makeen destroying three hideouts of militants. Sources said that forces are marching ahead in different areas. Several militants have been arrested during operation.

Pakistan: Operation in Rah-e-Nijaat, 10 More Militants killed ,Security forces have killed ten more militants in Operation Rah-e-Nijaat in South Waziristan.
Security forces seized heavy weapons while a large area of Makeen has been cleared of the militants. Forces have taken control of all the leading roads which join Makeen, Laddah and Sararogha. Forces are strengthening their hold in Sararogha and Laddah while search and clearance operation is also underway.
Curfew has been imposed on Bannu-Miran Shah Road for indefinite period of time.
