PROVO — Two BYU student-athletes — football player Harvey Unga and women’s basketball player Keilani Moeaki — announced Friday they have decided to withdraw from school. Both students have made the decision to withdraw as a result of a violation of the BYU honor code.Unga, a 6-foot, 237-pound running back, is the school’s all-time leading rusher with 3,455 yards gained over his first three seasons in the Cougar backfield. He led the Mountain West Conference in rushing last year while garnering first-team All-MWC honors after a third consecutive 1,000-yard season.
“I fully support Harvey and his decision regarding his personal situation,” BYU football coach Bronco Mendenhall said. “The possibility of not having Harvey on the field in the fall would certainly have an impact on our team, but my main concern right now is in supporting Harvey.”
Moeaki, a 6-foot-2 forward, has started in 67 of 91 games in three seasons. She averaged 4.4 points and 2.2 rebounds while starting all 33 games this past season, helping BYU advance to the quarterfinals of the WNIT.
“Keilani has been a valuable contributor to our team the past three years,” BYU women’s basketball coach Jeff Judkins said. “She has my support while she takes time to address some important personal matters

NEW YORK: More about Elizabeth Lambert Hair-pulling woman footballer, Once the darlings of American sport for their global success, women’s football players are now internet video hits thanks to a hair-pulling harridan and a set of US teen girls gone wild.
Highlights making the rounds on US television and with on-line video viewers now feature University of New Mexico defender Elizabeth Lambert pulling down an opponent by her ponytail and a late-game brawl between high school girls.
Lambert was handed an indefinite suspension for her actions on Thursday in a 1-0 Mountain West Conference playoff semi-final loss to Brigham Young University, which including hitting, kicking and punching rivals.
Lambert apologized for her actions, still under review by conference officials for possible further action, but the video of her punch-and-pull performance has proven popular viewing.
In the wake of the incident came a Sunday brawl in Rhode Island involving a fight between Woonsocket and Tolman girls football teams.
Woonsocket led 5-0 in the final seconds when two players ran into each other, touching off a fight between players who punched and pulled hair and inspired post-game fights in the stands.
Only a decade ago, the host US national team defeated China in the Women’s World Cup final. A second US women’s pro league, Women’s Professional Soccer, debuted this year with top talent from around the world.

Liz Lambert threw elbows collided with several players, then pulled her ponytail Kassidy Shumway BYU player, who was falling to the ground. Lambert has publicly apologized for his behavior, he said “my actions were uncalled for, I let my emotions get the better of me in a hot situation. This is in no way indicative of my character, or the football player I am. ”
New Mexico coach Kit Vela said: “Liz is a quality student and athlete, but in this case, his actions clearly crossed the line of fair play and sportsmanship”. Lambert was the only player to be a yellow card in the game, which came in the 77th minute of colliding with a player at BYU which led to the network.
After watching the video in a recent post, the question I want to know is why the referee has not been suspended, just in the short clip I’ve seen out of Lambert be received 4 yellow cards and two red cards straight.
