Brittany Murphy’s Husband Found Dead in Hollywood Hills Home
Simon Monjack, the controversial widower of Brittany Murphy, was found dead early this morning in his Los Angeles home. He was 40. Not much is known about the circumstances beyond their eerie similarities to Murphy’s own death five months ago — right down to the cause of death in the same bedroom in the same house.
According to police, the scene was not so unlike the one they’d discovered back on Dec. 20 of last year: Murphy’s mother Sharon discovered Monjack unconscious in the master bedroom of their Hollywood Hills residence around 9:30. She called 911; paramedics’ resuscitation efforts failed shortly thereafter, and Monjack was pronounced dead at the scene. Cardiac arrest has emerged as the unofficial cause of death as the case moves forward to the coroner’s office..
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a 911 call for an “unspecified medical aid request,” at 2.30pm (AEST) yesterday, according to spokesman Brian Humphrey.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Murphy’s mother, Sharon, found Monjack unconscious in the master bedroom.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the 39-year-old on arrival, but he passed away from cardiac arrest, The Sun reported.
No illegal drugs were found in the house, according to Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter.
Murphy – who starred in Clueless, 8 Mile and Girl, Interrupted – died aged 32 from pneumonia and a drug overdose of prescription painkiller Vicodin on December 20, 2009, a coroner’s office report said.
After her death, British-born Monjack blamed Hollywood, saying film bosses had “blood on their hands.”

LOS ANGELES: Actress Brittany Murphy’s death in December was accidental and the result of pneumonia, anemia and “multiple drug intoxication,” the
Los Angeles Coroner’s office said on Thursday.
Murphy, 32, the co-star of movies “Clueless” and “8 Mile” suffered a cardiac arrest on Dec. 20 in the bathroom of her Hollywood Hills home.
The coroner’s office said the drugs found in Murphy’s body were a mixture of prescription and over-the-counter medications. No illegal drugs were found.
The preliminary report ruled her death an accident, caused by drug intake. It said she had pneumonia and suffered from anemia caused by an iron deficiency. The full autopsy report will be issued in about two weeks time.
Murphy’s husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, said at the time that the actress had been suffering from laryngitis. Initial media speculation had focused on a possible eating disorder and rumors of cocaine use — both of which she had denied several years ago.
Photographs of Murphy’s last red carpet appearance in early December showed the actress in a sleeveless dress with rail-thin arms and legs.
In her career, Murphy starred in films like “Girl Interrupted” and “8 Mile” and worked with actors such as Michael Douglas, Ashton Kutcher, Eminem and Angelina Jolie.
But in more recent years, she worked mostly in low-budget movies.

Latest News Brittany Murphy Death Hoax, Los Angeles police are looking into Brittany Murphy’s sudden death at age 32, and the coroner’s office will conduct an autopsy as part of its own investigation.
Paramedics responded to an emergency call to the Clueless star’s home in the hills above West Hollywood at about 8 a.m. Sunday. She was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 10:04 a.m.
Murphy’s body was released by the hospital to the Los Angeles coroner. Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told the AP that Murphy apparently collapsed in the bathroom Sunday morning. He also told them that Murphy’s family is cooperating with the coroner’s investigation and that an autopsy is planned for Monday or Tuesday.

Nigel animated picture for Laura while dear Tyra Nicole relax, but the shot of confidence. After considering portfolios Laura and Nicole, the judges decided to Nicole as the winner.

NASCAR officials also released a statement lamenting the death: “First, our thoughts and prayers go out to Tom’s family and friends,” said the statement from [Kansas] Speedway President Jeff Boerger. “Tom’s enthusiasm and spirit will be missed not only at Kansas Speedway and in the racing community but by everyone he touched. Tom was a leader in the Kansas City community and this is a devastating loss to us all.”
