Today Subway is giving away it’s big Southern California free breakfast.
The free breakfast is today on April 27. It also includes a cup of coffee. Subway’s free breakfast deal is similar to the 2.50 dollar breakfast deal that the company offers on its website. Only, instead of a 16 oz coffee visitors will get an 8 oz coffee this morning.
Subway says the free breakfast is available today between 7AM to 11AM in the morning. It’s a good idea to call your local Subway and make sure the local store participates in this free giveaway.
Subway is one of the fastest growing fast food restaurants in the world. It has largely succeeded by providing a healthier options of quick and fresh sandwiches.
The company now operates in 91 countries and has 32781 restaurants. Recently Subway started to provide breakfast for 2.50 and today’s big Southern California free breakfast offer is the part of the campaign to raise awareness about the new “breakfast” image of Subway.

CHICAGO – Nashville’s power play has been in a deep freeze and the Predators could use a breakout Saturday in Game 5 (3 p.m. ET, NBC) of their opening-round series against the Chicago Blackhawks.
Chicago rookie goalie Antti Niemi, who has posted two shutouts in his four career playoff games, and shot-blocking defenseman Brent Sopel have played key roles in Nashville’s 0-for-17 performance on the power play. The series is tied 2-2.
“We’re hoping it’s ready to burst, 0 and 17, oh and forever is not going to cut it,” Nashville’s Steve Sullivan said Friday.

Brandon Roy makes a difference. So does good ball movement and the Phoenix Suns’ inability to make shots. But also give full credit to LaMarcus Aldridge — who seems to need the whole town jumping on his case in order to get himself going. And of course, credit the presence of Brandon Roy for opening the court up for everyone.
It was a bit of a weird game. Portland once again won the battle of fast break points, by a whopping 16-4. The Suns quit making open outside shots all of a sudden. The Blazers once went about eight minutes without a field goal. The Suns opened the game with an avalanche of backdoor cuts for dunks. Portland failed for almost the entire fourth quarter to take advantage of Steve Nash defending Nic Batum — I mean, call a timeout, run Batum down the the low post and throw him the ball. He wouldn’t need any post moves — just turn and throw it down in the little man’s grill. Man, a coach like Mike Dunleavy would have made sure whoever Nash tried to guard he’d have a long day — especially if it’s a guy who stands 6-8.
But anyway, it was great to see Roy back on the floor, just eight days after his knee surgery. Among other weirdness, by the way — Rudy Fernandez didn’t play in the second half, Martell Webster played only 12:42 in spite of giving his usual consistent, solid effort, Batum was called for retaliating to a nasty elbow delivered by Amare Stoudemire that ought to earn Stoudemire a fine, Channing Frye and Jerryd Bayless were both called for flagrant fouls that weren’t all that flagrant and the Blazers outscored the Suns 17-5 in second-chance points.

Marian Hossa avoids suspension for Hamhuis hit
TORONTO — Chicago Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa avoided a suspension from the NHL for his hit on Nashville defenseman Dan Hamhuis and will be in the lineup for Game 6 of the first-round, Western Conference series.
NHL disciplinarian Colin Campbell conducted a hearing with the former Detroit Red Wing today and decided that no further penalty would be assessed. Hossa was spared, in part, because he is not a repeat offender.
Hossa shoved Hamhuis from behind into the boards and drew a major penalty late in regulation that carried into overtime Saturday. Hossa returned to the ice and scored the winning goal on his first shift back, giving Chicago a 5-4 victory and a 3-2 series lead.
“I have made the decision that this play does not warrant supplemental discipline after considering all of the facts, including reviewing the video and speaking with Mr. Hossa,” said Campbell, the NHL’s executive vice president and director of hockey operations.
Hamhuis said today that he is sore but added that he expects to play in Game 6 at Nashville on Monday night.
Predators coach Barry Trotz compared the hit on Hamhuis to one delivered by Washington’s Alex Ovechkin that injured Blackhawks defenseman Brian Campbell last month. Campbell broke his collarbone on the play, and Ovechkin was given a two-game suspension.

A new biography of the talk-show queen claims Tesh broke it off because he couldn’t deal with pressures of being an interracial relationship in 1970s Nashville.In one of the more eyebrow-raising excerpts from Kitty Kelley’s new biography of Oprah, the author reports the talk show queen and Tesh, a 6’6” composer, syndicated radio host and longtime host of ET, were a romantic item in Nashville in the 1970s, according to the New York Daily News.
The News said the book – due out Tuesday – reports they shared an apartment there until Tesh bolted in the middle of the night, unable to take the social pressure of being half of an interracial couple.
On Monday, Tesh told the News, “Oprah and I were cub reporters in Nashville nearly 40 years ago and we dated for a short time.”

Plane Crash Hudson River
Plane Crash Hudson River, A helicopter and plane have crashed into each other over New York’s Hudson River today, with early reports of at least one casualty.
Six people were aboard the helicopter, which belongs to Liberty Helicopter Sightseeing Tours, Browne said.
It was not clear who among the dead and the rescued were aboard which aircraft.
The plane that crashed, a Piper PA-32, had taken off from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, officials from the Federal Aviation Administration told The Associated Press. The chopper is a Eurocopter AS 350, the AP reported.
A witness who told the AP that he saw the crash from the shore in Hoboken, N.J., said the helicopter “dropped like a rock” and that the plane lost its wing. He said he heard a loud pop that sounded like a car backfire.
Browne said police have received reports of debris found on the New Jersey side of the river including a “tire that appears to have come from one of the aircraft.”
NY1, the cable news station, has been showing images of boats converging on the Hudson between Hoboken and Manhattan, with the crash site closer to the New Jersey side.
