JUI-F will not quit ruling alliance in Balochistan, claims Raisani
LAHORE: Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman’s Jamiat Ulema-e Islam (JUI-F) will not quit alliance and the coalition government in Balochistan would continue to function as usual, claimed the Chief Minister of Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani on Thursday.
Aslam Raisani said while talking to media in Lahore that the changing scenario of the center will not cause any harm to the coalition government of Balochistan and he would try to save the federal government as well.
“US will not be allowed to launch drone attacks in Balochistan and the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan would be defended at any cost,” the CM Balochistan added. TrendPK

QUETTA: The Chief Minister of Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani stumbled while talking to the media after offering Eid prayers in Quetta.
According to details, Nawab Aslam Raisani offered Eid prayers at Sarawan House, Quetta. After the prayer, he spent some time with local journalists and exchanged Eid greetings.
Owing to bad health condition, the CM Balochistan suddenly stumbled during a discussion with media persons; the surrounding people saved him from falling and provided support.

Raja replays old trumpet for Balochistan
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water and Electricity Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, has once again broken the ice, playing the same old trumpet – ‘government is setting up several power projects on war-footing basis’, but this time, the claim has been made for Balochistan.
Federal government is working on several power projects in Balochistan to emancipate the province and the destitute people of ongoing electricity crisis, Ashraf reclaimed.
This he said in a meeting with Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani.
CM apprised minister of degrading electricity situation in province including destruction of power cables, polls, and transformers during terrorist attacks.
Balochistan cabinet approves budget proposals
QUETTA: Balochistan cabinet has approved budget proposals for fiscal year 2010-11 on Monday in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani.
The cabinet approved 100 percent increment in the salaries of Police, Levies and BRP and 50 percent increment in the salaries of other employees.
The meeting has informed that 5,728 new jobs have been created in the budget of 2010-11. It is also decided that Balochistan Investment Board will be establish and one month basic salary will be paid to Balochistan Police, Levies and Balochistan constabulary.
Philippine bus crash kills 15
A tourist bus packed mostly with Iranian and Pakistani nationals plunged into a ravine while negotiating a mountain road in the central Philippines. At least 15 people are dead.
Senior Supt Police Erson Digal says the bus was returning to Cebu city Sunday when it apparently lost its brakes then plunged into a 30-meter gorge in Balamban town, killing its Filipino driver and tourist guide and several Iranian and Pakistani tourists.
Digal says rescuers retrieved at least 15 bodies from the bus wreckage at a grassy bottom of the ravine. Several other passengers were brought to hospitals.
Balochistan CM dismisses Jaffar George
Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani Sunday sacked provincial Minorities Affairs Minister Jaffar George from his office, hours after he was freed from jail.
The other night, the minister was arrested along with two of his men for hooting around and creating scenes while being drunk near a theater.Police also impounded his car. Today, the minister was bailed out who later dismissed allegations.
The Balochistan CM on being informed by the Punjab Government immediately suspended the minister from his office.
Govt. determined to uplift backward regions: Gilani
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Saturday reiterated that the government was committed to development of backward regions of the country and to improve the living standard of the people.
The Prime Minister was talking to Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Aslam Raisani, Rehmat Ullah Kakar, Minister for Housing and Maulana Abdul Wasay, Senior Minister Balochistan who called on him at Prime Minister’s House.
The Prime Minister said Haqooq-e-Balochistan package was designed after taking all stakeholders on board to ensure speedy development of the province.
He said that after the passage of NFC award more resources have been put at the disposal of the provinces, which should be judiciously used for the betterment of the people.
Keeping in view the size of developmental work required to bring Balochistan at par with other regions, he said, it has been decided to allocate more funds than their share in the NFC award.
About the ongoing development projects in Balochistan, the Prime Minister said he had already directed the concerned ministries /organizations to streamline the funding to ensure early completion of these projects.
The Chief Minister apprised the Prime Minister about the progress of various development projects in the province. He specifically mentioned that roads in the province urgently require repairs as it is affecting the economic activities in different areas.
Regarding the early release of funds for the ongoing development schemes, the Prime Minister said he had already directed the finance ministry for early release of the allocated budget.
Relief efforts continue at Makran, Sindh coasts
KARACHI: Balochistan Chief Minister, Nawab Aslam Raeesani, along with Commander Coast Vice Admiral Tayyab Ali Dogar and Chairman National Disaster Management Authority visited cyclone affected areas of Gwadar, Pasni and Turbat.
An ISPR (Navy) press release issued here said that the Chief Minister, on board PN helicopter, took an aerial view of the cyclone affected areas and reviewed relief operations being undertaken by Pakistan Navy in collaboration with civil administration.
Earlier, three Pakistan Navy aircraft carried 1,800 kilograms of medicines, 10 large size de-flooding pumps and 600 chicks (doorway curtains) to Gwadar for the cyclone-affectees.
Relief goods are being delivered by PN aircraft and helicopters to the areas which are humanly inaccessible due to rain water.
PN Ship Zulfiquar has already reached Gwadar with 55 tonnes of dry ration and relief goods.
A PN truck also left here today carrying 4,000 kg relief goods for cyclone-hit creek areas of Sindh.
PNS Shahjahan is also on its way carrying relief goods for cyclone affectees.
A PN aircraft has also reached Karachi from Gwadar on Tuesday, carrying 18 serious patients for medical treatment at PNS Shifa.
The patients include six serious delivery cases. PN Special Services Group team is also undertaking salvage operation of sunken fishing boats at Gwadar and Pasni.
Gen Kayani Reaches Peshawar
Peshawar, Pakistan News: Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervaz Kayani has reached Peshawar on a one-day visit.
Corps Commander Lt. General Muhammad Masood welcomed Army Chief at the airport. Army Chief will go to Army Head Quarters during his visit.
General Kayani also visited Leady Reading Hospital to inquire about the health of bomb blasts’ victims. Strict security measures were taken around Cantt and Leady Reading Hospital while aero-monitoring of these areas is also being done.

Pakistan News: The Qul of former caretaker prime minister Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi are being offered today in New Jatoi. Important personalities including Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif, Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani and Pir Pagaro will attend the Qul. Strict security measures have been taken in the area. Police and rangers contingents have been deployed at various spots and passers-by are being searched.
