UNITED STATES : New Moon Named Best Movie of 2009, Twilight sequel ‘New Moon’ has been voted the best movie of 2009 in a new poll.

Heartthrob Robert Pattinson took away the title for Sexiest Male star, with 46.5pct votes, while co-star Taylor Lautner was named Best Male Breakout star, timesofindia.com quoted.

‘New Moon’ was also ranked as the year’s champ “chick flick.”

Although voters ranked “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” as the worst movie of 2009, as well as the second most disappointing film after “Bruno,” yet at the same time, they called it the year’s best action flick.

“Transformers” star Megan Fox was voted the year’s Sexiest Female thespian but voters also felt she gave the worst performance of ‘09.

“The Hangover” got was voted the year’s funniest movie, with 51.8pct votes, while Disney/Pixar’s “Up” was named the best animated film.

Sandra Bullock took the best performance by an actress prize for “The Blind Side.”

Meanwhile, Twilight series’ next instalment ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ was picked as the 2010 film fans most yearn to see.

Kanye West Interrupts Taylor Swift’s VMA Acceptance Speech, In what was arguably an upset win, Taylor Swift’s ‘You Belong With Me’ video took home the MTV Video Music Award for Best Female Video on Sunday, beating Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It),’ Lady GaGa’s ‘Poker Face,’ Kelly Clarkson’s ‘My Life Would Suck Without You,’ Katy Perry’s ‘Hot n Cold’ and Pink’s ‘So What.’. The country superstar’s victory apparently did not sit well with rap superstar Kanye West, who stormed the stage and stole the mic from Taylor during her acceptance speech.

“Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time. Of all time!” Kanye declared, as a stunned Taylor looked on, keeping her cool by keeping a big smile on her face.

This was not Kanye’s first temper tantrum at a show — nor his first time to diss a country star. He stormed out of the 2004 American Music Awards when he lost the Best New Artist Award to Gretchen Wilson, insisting to reporters that he was the best new artist of the year. He also stormed the stage at the 2006 MTV Europe Awards upon losing Video of the Year honors, stealing the microphone from winners Justice and Simian, saying his video deserved to win because “it cost a million dollars and Pamela Anderson was in it.”

New Moon Extended Trailer

Twilight stars Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart took the VMAs stage tonight to debut an extended trailer for the upcoming The Twilight Saga: New Moon — “a first look at a movie we’ve been working on for months,” said Pattinson.

The trailer offers a look at the darker sequel to last year’s blockbuster, which details what happens when Pattinson’s vampire hunk Edward leaves his girlfriend, the mortal Bella (played by Stewart), who in turn looks to Lautner’s character, the human-turned-werewolf Jacob. Fans also got a first look at the improved CGI in play for Jacob’s mythical transformations, as well as glimpses of Dakota Fanning and Michael Sheen as evil vamps.

New Moon opens November 20th; in the meantime check out what Peter Travers predicts for the movie.
