No evidence found against me, says Moonis Elahi
LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League- Q leader Chaudhry Parvez Elahi’s son Moonis Elahi said on Friday that no evidence was presented against him in the court in the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) scandal case.
While talking with the newsmen he said he will expose those who blamed him in a few days.

430 Terrorists killed in Ladha and Sararogha
WANA, Pakistan: Security forces have killed 250 militants in Ladha and 180 militants in Sararogha operation, a spokesman said.

“The forces drive has been continued in Showal,” a military spokesman Brig. Farrukh told mediamen here. The military has recaptured the highways in South Waziristan region and also taken the control of land routes from Ladha to Makeen, he said. All mountain tops were retaken by the troops, the spokesman further said.
He said the military operation was underway in Ladha after reports of presence of 35 militant fighters in the area.
Earlier, Commander Sararogha Brig. Shafeeque informed the newsmen that 180 militants were killed in fighting during the Sararogha operation including Uzbek and Tehrik-e-Taliban terrorists. A large quantity of arms and ammunition captured from the militants in Sararogha including 21 suicide jackets.

Nawaz Sharif rejects Kerry-Lugar bill
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz reject the Kerry-Lugar bill with its present conditions.

“The party was neither taken on board nor was briefed by the government of Pakistan or the US on the legislation… PML-N considers that the decisions on national issues, including whether to accept the aid bill, should be decided by the Parliament,” Party chief and former premier Mian Nawaz Shairf said while addressing a news conference here Thursday.
Mian Nawaz Sharif also invited the government to formulate a national forum on the issue of US aid bill and hinted at accepting the legislation if its conditions were omitted out.
“The PML-N played its due national role on the issue of Kerry-Lugar bill… the issue should be decided on the forum of the Parliament,” he told the newsmen after chairing a party meeting on the issue of US legislation aimed at tripling US conditioned aid to Pakistan to $1.5 billion per annum for next five years.
“Foreign aid is not the solution to our problems and sufferings. The real way of success is the self-reliance as the nations make their fates themselves,” Nawaz who broke his silence on key national issues and faced the media first time in more than a month told the newsmen.
“People of Pakistan are annoying on the aid bill as its conditions may be in favor of the United States’ government and the people,” he said avoiding any severe criticism directed on President Barrak Obama-led US administration.
He suggested the government and the nation to adopt a “way of sacrifice” to bring the prosperity in the country and avoid foreign aid.
Mian Nawaz Sharif said that the country was in foreign debt of Rs 3000 billion when he was overthrown by an army coup on Oct. 12, 1999 led by then army chief General (r) Parvez Musharraf. “Now the foreign debt on the country has exceeded Rs 8000 billion,” Nawaz claimed.

Suicide Attack In Swat 5 Killed
PAKISTAN, MINGORA: At least five security personnel were killed and four others including a civilian injured in a suicide car attack at a checkpoint in Swat valley here Saturday, reports ARY NEWS.
According to preliminary reports, a suicide car bomber rammed his explosives-laden vehicle into a security checkpoint in Waliabad area, killing five security personnel on spot. Among one civilian four others were also injured in the attack and were immediately rushed to local hospital.
Heavy contingents of army and other paramilitary forces reached the scene soon after the incident and have started a massive search operation in the area. Chaharbagh Road has been blocked for all kind of traffic following the attack, the channel adds.
It was the first suicide attack in one-time tourist heaven turn violence-torn valley after it was declared clear from the militants later last month following months-long clearance operation marked with bloodshed and biggest internal exodus in country’s history.
Only Solution For Electricity Is Rental Power Plant: PM
PAKISTAN, SHEIKHUPURA: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani inaugurated a 250-Megawatt power plant at Sheikhupura road here Saturday, ARY NEWS reports.
Speaking to the newsmen after the inauguration, the premier said rental power houses were the only solution to get rid of the electricity crisis in a short period of time.
“The government is monitoring the demand and supply of power and 5000 megawatt electricity will be generated within three to five years,” Gilani told the reporters.
The Atlas power house is capable to generate 250 Megawatt electricity.
