Gas tariff to be increased before Eid

In applications given to OGRA, Sui Northern demanded an increase of Rs 22. 48 per MMBTU, while Sui Southern demanded Rs 22.35 per MMBUT.

The companies are of the view to increase the revenues; the increase in tariff is inevitable. Sui Northern says an additional revenue of Rs 13.65 billion is needed while Sui Northern demanded Rs 0.93 billion.

The companies also demanded the expenditures of elected representatives’ schemes. The OGRA has already increased the gas tariff by 13.55 percent.

GAZA: Israeli aircraft on Sunday killed two Palestinian in the northern Gaza Strip, medics and officials from the enclave’s rulers Hamas said.

Four-day gas blockage continues in Punjab

LAHORE: More than 2, 000 CNG pumping stations continue to remain closed for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday across Punjab under National Energy Conservation Scheme.

According to Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC), the gas supply will resume from Wednesday morning.

It said that industrial units of Lahore, Sahiwal and Sheikhupura regions will also start getting gas supply from Wednesday evening.

On the other hand, taxi and auto rickshaw drivers are fully exploiting the gas shortage by overcharging the travelers. TrendPK

At least nine people were killed when a car bomb exploded outside a church in the northern Egyptian city of Alexandria.

Gas outages render 700, 000 jobless in Punjab

FAISALABAD: Gas supply to industrial units and CNG stations remained suspended on Saturday, causing difficulties for daily wagers and commuters.

The Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC) blocked supply of gas to industries of Faisalabad for four days under National Energy Saving Campaign.

The outages have rendered nearly 700, 000 daily wagers and workers jobless.

In addition, industrialists had face huge financial losses worth million of rupees after they failed to deliver their orders on time.

All Pakistan CNG Association to go to courts against gas outage

LAHORE: The All Pakistan CNG Association has decided to go to court against gas companies for gas outage.

Ghayas Paracha, chairman of All Pakistan CNG Association, while talking with TrendPK, said that Sui Northern and Sui Southern Gas companies are bound to supply gas throughout the year, according to the pact.

He termed the gas outage as illegal, saying they would go to courts if the gas supply is ensured to all CNG stations. TrendPK

Punjab: CNG stations remain closed on second consecutive day

LAHORE: Several areas of Punjab, including Lahore, face suspension of gas on the second consecutive day on Tuesday (today).

Sui Northern officials said that due to the National Energy Saving Campaign, gas suspension to Lahore, Gujranwala, Multan, Sahiwal and Faisalabad will continue on the second day also; more than 2000 CNG stations will remain closed till Wednesday morning.

CNG stations in Potohar and Bahawalpur will remain closed on Friday and Saturday.

On the other hand, several industrial units of Punjab, including Lahore, face gas outage on the fifth day today, leaving laborers jobless.

Industrialists to protest gas suspension in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: Industrialists and traders of Gujranwala have called an emergency meeting on Monday (today) to outline a strategy regarding the increasing problem of gas suspension.

Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC) has stopped gas supply to more than 1,200 industrial units of Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot and Hafizabad for an indefinite period, leaving thousands of workers and laborers jobless.

Karachi: 900 bags of sugar found in a truck on Northern Bypass

Police has recovered 900 bags of sugar from a truck on the Northern Bypass.

According to Sarjani Town police, the patrolling party stopped a truck and searched it, and found 300 bags of sugar in it. Police inquired for official documents for this consignment from the driver; however the driver was unable to provide it and so all these 300 bags were taken in to police custody and driver was also arrested. During the investigation, driver also revealed that there are another 600 bags in a storage place in Glushan-e-Zehra. Police raided that place and found 600 more bags which were also taken in to custody.

Punjab’s industrial gas supply halted for two days

ISLAMABAD: Gas supply in many of Punjab’s industrial regions has been halted for two days on Friday.

According to Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC) sources, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Multan and Bahawalpur industrial regions’ gas supply was stopped at 6:00am today and will resume at the same time on November 28.

Under the weekly break, gas supply to Lahore, Sheikhupura and Sahiwal’s industries’ will be closed on November 29 (Monday) at 6:00am, and will resume on December 1 (Wednesday) at the same time. Trend Pk
