PARIS: The Eiffel Tower and its immediate surroundings were evacuated Tuesday evening after an anonymous caller phoned in a bomb threat, but explosives experts scoured France’s most-visited monument and found nothing suspicious, Paris police headquarters said.
Eiffel Tower evacuated after bomb scare
The Eiffel Tower in Paris has been evacuated after an anonymous bomb threat sparked panic in the French capital.
Around 2,000 were led to safety and police combed through the world famous landmark.
A second tourist hub – the Saint-Michel subway station near Notre Dame cathedral – was also evacuated after a similar threat. The station was the target of a terrorist attack in 1995 that killed eight and injured dozens of people.
French media has reported that the scare was a false alarm – and there have been no immediate claims of responsibility. The Eiffel Tower attracts around 6.6 million visitors every year.
Denard Robinson Latest Updates
At the same time to give this guy a game ball. Supply all game balls. JD Robinson changed the term “offensive weapons” on Saturday with Notre Dame.
The second player of the year not only to break his record in the crime of people in Michigan, is not only a violent 87-yard TD run, he was not only 258 yards on the ground and 244 Yard pass, he was not the only dog ball and knocked picked him up up fumble once and disposed of yardage positive, but it was something at the beginning of his second mandate of the Ombudsman, to the players before a myriad of college to him to be able to do so .
He pointed to the return against the Irish at Notre Dame Stadium. He has done so in the last seconds. “It’s star!” President of NBC, and when the game ended, and remained alive Michigan from 0.28 to 24 to improve to 2-0 in the season. I’m not much for hyperbole.
But I think I can say that in the event on Saturday, “Super Star” is in fact a modest estimate.
“Army of one man,” comes to mind. No words can explain “I do not have the right words now,” Robinson said after the match. “I really do not know what to say at the moment.” He said that when someone asked Robinson if he knows the numbers to him. Well, this may be the biggest achievement a team of everything: made the best spaghetti sauce I ever tasted very average. Wolverines scored 24 points, all of which have direct relevance to the efforts of Robinson.
But they did so, although too many stupid penalties – and was held in late hit calls. Missed a lot of obstruction. They gave up too many big plays. They do not convert third lesion (3 in 16). Attempts and missed the ball. Let’s face it. A long list of sins, which is enough to lose most of the games. According to Michigan a few meters away from the loss.
Notre Dame was, in fact, at the end of the first half, Notre Dame 3-yard line and did not register, at the end of the game, 27 yard line and threw the ball ounces of the end zone. Each one of these plays to convert, and we are likely to be painting a different picture here. “I am proud of our young people,” said Rich Rodriguez. “Stop and there at home.

NEW YORK — Throughout the college football season, the glory goes to the quarterbacks, the running backs and receivers.
At the NFL draft, the guys who do the tackling, blocking and defending got their due.
Before two of college football’s cover boys from 2009 – Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen and Stanford running back Toby Gerhart – were drafted Friday in the middle of the second round of the NFL draft, six more linemen (four defensive and two offensive) came off the board.
That followed a first round in which a total of seven players who man the marquee offensive positions were selected in comparison to six offensive linemen, nine defensive linemen and seven defensive backs.
Clausen’s fall from being touted as a high first-rounder to being selected on the second day of the first three-day draft by the Carolina Panthers with pick No. 48 was one of the top storylines.
But his tumble might have as much or more to do with the way NFL teams are drafting these days than with any great flaw in Clausen’s game.
In fact, Clausen, the most ballyhooed recruit to sign with Notre Dame during Charlie Weis’ tumultuous five seasons with the Fighting Irish, just might be the best quarterback on the Panthers’ roster right now.
“I wanted to go as early as I could, but this is a great situation for me and I can’t wait to go to Carolina,” Clausen said.
Last season three quarterbacks were taken in the first round. The year before it was two. In 2007, the last highly touted Notre Dame quarterback, Brady Quinn, slipped to the 22nd pick in the first round and was one of only two quarterbacks taken in that round.
Matt James Dame Football Recruit Florida Dies
Matt James, a 17-year-old football player recruited to Notre Dame, died Friday after falling from the third floor balcony of a hotel in Panama City, Florida. Cincinnati TV station WKRC was the first to identify James in reports after his death. The offensive lineman was just one week away from celebrating his 18th birthday.
James is an athletic offensive lineman that has good foot agility. He is a tall and lean offensive tackle that is a towering player on the field. Leads with his hands in both the run and pass game. Gives a good solid punch and jolts the defender with the initial. James, 17, was vacationing in Florida for spring break.
A 6-foot-6, 291-pound offensive tackle, James was named USA Today first-team All-American after leading Cincinnati’s St. Xavier to a No. 4 ranking in the final state poll. The father of fellow Notre Dame recruit and St. Xavier quarterback and Luke Massa told the Cincinnati Enquirer that the teammates were on vacation together. “Luke is devastated,” Gary Massa told the newspaper. “He lost one of his best friends.”
Panama City’s WJHG reports that James, who stood 6′ 6” and weighed 291 lbs., apparently died instantly after falling from a balcony at a Days Inn motel Friday evening. It was the teenager’s first day of spring break vacation in Panama City. James’ death is the second spring break death in Panama City in less than a week. On Wednesday, a 19-year-old died after falling five stories from a motel balcony.
Most impressive: James is one huge run-blocking machine that just mauls defenders using his size and surprisingly athletic footwork. James also has a nasty streak and does not mind using physical intimidation as a method of inflicting his will on opponents. On the Hoof: A massive offensive lineman with average arm length and thick build. James resembles a slightly thicker Matt Khalil of USC.

Big East Tournament 2010 Bracket
Big East Tournament 2010 Bracket, West Virginia and Pitt are tied for third at 12-5. They split their head-to-head meetings, but the Panthers earn
the three seed by virtue of their victory over regular season champ Syracuse.
–Louisville can finish no better than sixth and no worse than seventh (night game!). The only way U of L can be the seventh seed is if they lose to Syracuse, Georgetown beats Cincinnati and Notre Dame loses to Marquette. If the Irish and Hoyas both win and Louisville loses, all three are 1-1 in the three-team mini-conference, so the Cards’ victory over Syracuse would earn them the six seed.
