Aiyana Jones, 7 year old case
The case of 7-year-old Aiyana Jones shooting death by a Detroit Michigan Police Special Response Team officer is being spun in so many ways that each news report discussing it reads differently and most of these don’t appear as though they are being very honest about it. So I thought it made sense to clear things up as to why this case is in our National Police Misconduct News Feed. Here’s what we know so far based on information culled from multiple sources…
At 12:40am on 05/16/2010 the Detroit Michigan Special Response Team entered a duplex to serve an arrest warrant on a suspect in a homicide case who was living in the upstairs unit. The police announced, tossed a flash-bang grenade into one of the windows of the duplex, and then entered into both the upstairs and downstairs rental units of the duplex.

Police say that their warrant applied to both units in the duplex, even though the suspect did not live in the lower unit where another family lived. When the lower unit was entered an officer alleged he made physical contact with a 46-year-old woman who was Aiyana’s grandmother. At this point the officer discharged his weapon and 7-year-old Aiyana was fatally injured with a gunshot wound to the neck by an unspecified type of firearm on the nearby couch where she had been sleeping prior to the intrusion.
Assistant Chief Ralph Godbee said at a news conference Sunday that Aiyana Jones was hit in the neck by a single bullet and died at a hospital.
“This is any parent’s worst nightmare. It also is any police officer’s worst nightmare,” Godbee said.
Godbee said officers with the department’s Special Response Team set off a flash grenade as they entered the home with their guns drawn about 12:40 a.m. Sunday with a warrant to look for a suspect in the Friday slaying of a 17-year-old boy.
Police state that a 46 year old woman, had contact with a police officer and the officer’s gun went off and this precious 7 year old, Aiyana Jones, was at that time struck by the gun fire in her head and neck area. Her grieving father states that his 7 year old baby girl, Aiyana Jones was asleep when police burst in and was throwing flash grenade’s and burnt his baby to death and then shot and killed her.

I believe that birth control is like all other drugs, even if it is a controlled substance.

Rima Fakih, a 24-year-old beauty from Dearborn, Michigan, is the new Miss USA 2010 – and she’s smokin’ hot.
The brunette bombshell won the title of Miss Michigan before competing in tonight’s prestigious event and now she’s becoming one of the most recognizable names in the world.
Rima, who had a small slip during the evening gown competition (where she wore a gorgeous white mermaid gown), quickly recovered and made quite an impression with the judges (and millions of viewers) during the interview portion.
Miss Michigan acknowledged both her mom and her director throughout the competition and revealed that, if it weren’t for her director, she would have had to sell her car to compete in the Miss USA pageant.
Down to earth and smiling from ear to ear the entire competition, it was clear from the beginning that Miss Michigan deserved to win.
The runner-up, should Rima not be able to fulfill her duties, is Miss Oklahoma Morgan Woolard. Although she was beautiful, Miss Oklahoma clearly didn’t deserve to take home tonight’s crown. Her smiles seemed forced, she was too uptight and she looked a lot like last year’s winner Kristen Dalton.
So Miss Michigan Rima Fakih is officially the new Miss USA winner. Hopefully she doesn’t have any Playboy pics or sex tapes in her past

ALT LAKE CITY — The father of a 4-year-old child killed in Utah wrote in divorce papers that the boy’s mother was unstable and had abandoned the youngster.
Police dug up Ethan Stacy’s badly beaten and disfigured body from a Utah canyon Tuesday, nearly two weeks after a Florida judge finalized a divorce that required the father to share custody.
Ethan’s mother, Stephanie Sloop, has been jailed along with her new husband, both implicated in the boy’s slaying 10 days after he arrived in Utah.
Divorce papers obtained by The Associated Press show that Joe G. Stacy, of Tazewell, Va., was worried about his son.
“The mother has abandoned the child and I’m afraid the mother will come and take him and I’ll never see him again,” Joe Stacy, who then lived in Apopka, Fla., wrote in the November 2009 custody petition filed in the Orlando Circuit Court. “The mother is unstable.”
In the divorce settlement, Joe Stacy and Sloop agreed to share custody of the boy. He was to spend the school year with his father and summers with his mother. The agreement was approved by a Florida judge April 28.
The couple divided their personal property, Joe Stacy was required to pay $240 a month in child support and she gave up claims to a Florida house that fell into foreclosure in December, according to court files.
Joe Stacy was an oil-rig worker who expected a sum of money from a 2008 accident. He offered to share the settlement with Sloop, who insisted on full custody of the boy if the father didn’t collect the money, but the judge ruled that condition was unenforceable.
Sloop didn’t wait long to get remarried. She and Nathanael Sloop exchanged vows in a courthouse wedding in Utah eight days after her divorce.
The Sloops locked a badly beaten Ethan in his bedroom while they drove 10 miles away for the ceremony, police said.
Nathanael Sloop acknowledged beating the boy for days before his death, and Stephanie Sloop did nothing to stop the abuse, according to police interview statements used to hold the couple in jail.
Detectives wrote that Nathanael Sloop used a hammer to disfigure the dead boy’s face and teeth before burial in order to make it harder for anyone to identify the body.
Nathanael Sloop was arrested on suspicion of aggravated murder. He and the mother face additional charges of desecration of a corpse, along with felony child abuse and obstruction of justice, police said.
The Sloops’ first court appearance is scheduled for Friday and security will be tight, said deputy Davis County attorney David Cole.

The Amherst homeowner who shot and killed an Albany teacher in March will not face charges.
WGRZ-TV in Buffalo reports an Erie County grand jury returned a no-bill Monday morning in the case.
David Park was shot after he wandered into the home of complete strangers. He was in Amherst for a party at a nearby home. Toxicology results show his blood alcohol content was 0.18 at the time.
The homeowner’s attorney told WGRZ that Park’s death was a tragedy and that by not pressing charges, the grand jury prevented another tragedy.
Park was a 31-year-old fifth grade teacher at Arbor Hill Elementary School.
Sanchez is 11-0-1 as a Super Featherweight and is the current New York St. champion at that weight. He turned pro in 2007, and won the Empire St. Games gold medal in 2007 before turning pro.
Sanchez currently lives in Buffalo, and went to high school at Dunkirk after moving to New York state from Puerto Rico when he was 13 years old.
His ESPN2 opponant, Dominic Salcido, is 17-2 as a pro and is considered a rising star, and while Sanchez says he doesn’t know a lot about Salcido, that’s also true for Salcido regarding Sanchez. Sanchez is managed by Frank Saniago.

Kenny Anderson Gets His College Degree 19 Years After Leaving School For NBA
After the child support and the squandered millions, Kenny Anderson was the one who registered for college, who mastered the digital classroom, who studied in his spare time.
“My son sees me with books in my knapsack and he says, ‘You’re 39 years old, you’re still going to school?’ ” Anderson said of his son Ken Jr., 9.
The payoff will come Saturday at St. Thomas University in Miami, when Anderson will don his cap and gown and graduate, 19 years after leaving Georgia Tech.
Kenny Anderson was very known in NYC as a top tier point guard, but I remember when he was playing at Georgia Tech as part of “Lethal Weapon 3,” with Dennis Scott (3-D) and Big Brian Oliver. They were a force on the court, making it all the way to the final four. I still remember when got drafted by the Nets. He was pretty good making it to one All Star game and playing in playoff games. After that he met Tami Anderson from the Real World Los Angeles and married her. After I remember that, it was like his world just turned upside down; moving from team to team, partying, infidelity, and having a big ego throughout his career. All this backfired from him leaving him broke, divorced and serious no education.
Now let’s fast forward to now. Kenny Anderson is now a NYC basketball hall of famer, he runs a basketball Academy at 24 Hour Fitness, which is a private company, and now he has done something that he should have done a long time ago, get his degree.
6th grader sings lady gaga

Before Greyson Michael Chance’s cover of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” became a YouTube smash, the Oklahoma sixth-grader was already a star in Kelly Cheek’s classroom. “He’s an amazing student to have,” Cheek, who’s been Chance’s choir teacher at Edmond, Okla.’s Cheyenne Middle School since January, tells the Music Mix. “He’s always playing the piano in class. The kids are always wanting him to sing for them. He’s the reason why I wanted to teach, because of kids like him.”
Chance represented Cheyenne at an annual choir festival for Edmond’s five middle schools this April 12. Cheek says he was originally planning to cover 3OH!3?s “Still Around” before a last-minute switch to “Paparazzi.” “He decided about a week before…He brought that song in one day after school and sang it for me. I just said, ‘You have to do that one! It’s amazing!’”
If this new fangled Internet machine has proven one thing to us, it’s that we wasted our youth smoking pot and reading comic books. It seems like every damn day there’s a video of some little turd doing some amazing music thing and we’re left trying to find someone to talk to about the time Psylocke showed some massive cleavage in the X-Men. This kid tackled Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” on the piano, which either makes him a rad dude or a weirdo; we’re not so certain what’s cool in middle schools these days.
While the above video doesn’t demonstrate any real musical anomaly it’s worth watching through and through to see the looks of his female classmates as he absolutely slays them in whatever competition this was. Sure, the little kid can sing, but we’ll hold off on calling him a phenomenon until he writes his own damn song
